I’m also a racer. Don’t be afraid to fall. As long as you have all the proper gear you’ll most likely be okay. Riding on clips also makes it more scary to race. Try racing flats

Bubba scrubs are to keep suspension from bouncing you too high, to stay low and fast. Really only necessary on dirt bikes.
