I would not recommend using reusable plates for a wedding! One of my Mom's friends talked my mother using beautiful plates our church had for events. I had said no, to buy disposable (usually big on reusable as I use reusable wipes, diapers and ziplock bags, etc. But I knew I wouldn't be doing the clean up for our wedding, my mother would be). I had told her my issue was that was a lot of dish washing for my mother. Her friend said people would stay and help, lots were coming to our wedding. Unfortunately no one stayed to help, not even my in laws and my mother was there all night doing dishes. Just as I feared. She refused to let us help but she was still doing them at 5am. I wish we had used disposable, she has MS and can barely walk and I know she was in a lot of pain but insisted, "We didn't have money to help with your wedding, so let me do this!" Best Mom ever!!! She got upset when I tried to insist on helping because she felt bad we had had to pay for the wedding ourselves because they didn't have the money.

About 25 years ago, we attended my cousin's wedding. Absolutely beautiful. Until the RCMP raided the event because both the bride and groom had been evading arrest for dealing in cocaine and had been hiding all over the place until that day. Guess they got word of where they would be at 3 pm that Saturday. So they ended up arrested and hauled off, and my aunt sighed and said "Well, the food is all paid for and the band is already paid, let's just have an anniversary and birthday party for anyone who was married or born in June..." She was unphased and later (about a month) admitted "I knew something had to be up because they were never at the same place for longer than a couple days. I didn't think it would be gang activity and cocaine but she's an adult and made her own bed." We did have a great time at the reception - especially since all their gang friends disappeared once the RCMP showed up. My husband said my family never fails to entertain him. I remind him "just that one little branch, dear. The rest of us are quite normal and boring."

baby skunk spray is more potent as well. i do TNR for feral cats ad we get skunks in the humane traps alot. let me tell you, ive never been so scared to approach a trap to release the poor skunk. but the skunk was chill as hell. i moved slowly, kept eye contact and spoke softly, explaining what i was doing, not that it understood. but i think it knew, so it waited... as soon as i SLOWLY backed away, it toddled out of the trap, gave me a thanks for the free meal and thanks for letting me out look, and wandered away. they are really cute as EFF too.

@@totesmegoatscrystal9688 clearly you haven’t read the articles of the Confederacy. The Constitution of the Confederate States says verbatim “Our new Government is founded upon exactly the opposite ideas (opposite ideas being that Union wanted to abolish slavery) its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and moral condition.”
Almost every state that seceded from the Union made it a point in their secession decree that they wanted to maintain slavery.
Furthermore before the Civil War, Northern states were trying to pass state level laws that would allow enslaved peoples that escaped from Southern states freedom and safe harbor within their states and/or territories. The Southern states sued the Northern states to prevent them for enacting those laws even though they would be state laws NOT federal laws. It’s okay for Southern states to have their rights to enslave people, but wasn’t ok for Northern states to have their rights to grant safe harbor. But it was about “sTaTeS rIgHtS”…yeah to enslave people.
So sorry, but the Civil War was VERY much about the continuation of slavery whether you want to believe it or not. Maybe look up John Oliver’s deep dives into the Confederacy. His show has done a few pieces on them.

I took another look at that and, given the tip shape and the guard with langets rather than a blade collar and disc guard, it looked like a Marine sword patterned after a mamaluke rather than a tachi or uchikatana. The mamaluke was most likely used because the groom is or was an active duty US Marine, so the sword would have some significance aside from just dividing a baked good.

Walmart wedding isn’t so bad. Beats a jailhouse wedding.
Been catering for a jillion years. Unless it is a southern barbecue, I make all sides delicious and vegan, with AT LEAST one high protein option, and the meats are kept at the opposite end of whatever plating or buffet station so vegan foods are not contaminated by unthinking people. A good caterer would know how to accommodate all guests with ease and a little forethought.

That hair ring was just nasty! Back in Victorian times, there was a thing called "mourning jewelry" where the deceased person's hair was woven into an intricate ring or other piece of jewelry. Those are very collectible now. However, it was NEVER used as a wedding ring, and they were artfully made.

Yep, winter camo. I haven’t seen it used for a wedding dress (although like you, I’m sure someone around here has), but have seen grad dresses in it.

The groom in orange is “Swayze” from a show called gypsy brides. That pic was the classiest part of the wedding!

I saw Brittany and Chad's (Peewee / Crazy Swazey) wedding on TLC and I have to say I absolutely loved her bridal look. His suit was, well... not what the average groom wears and quite garish. But they were cute together.

Omg the one where the groom was in orange is from My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding! If you want a laugh please go watch it. The groom's mom (or grandmother) wanted to fight the bride and started chasing her down in the golf cart she was being driven in on. Pretty sure the couple had met online and their wedding was gonna be the first time they met in person as well.

The "I pooped today" shirt has a funny story for me. When I first met my ex- fiancee's cousin she wasn't expecting company and had her "I pooped today shirt on" great first impression that's for sure 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Skunk spraying on the cake would look very real had they used edible silver glitter ... and covered a bit more area. Don't ask me how I know.

These weddings make me think the poor Brides and Grooms just don’t have any real grown ups in their lives to tell them “no”.
My firstborn daughter wanted to be married outdoors this July in Texas. We grown ups just explained she could wait and get married in the Fall, outdoors. OR she could get married ASAP like she wants, inside an air conditioned church.
She chose ASAP indoors. So we’re having a nice, simple, old fashioned church wedding with a cake and punch reception.
    Where’s all the moms?

The orange wedding picture (groom in an orange suit) was from "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding" a TV show that followed around the travelling community

I once went to a fairly large, expensive wedding. They knew we had 5-6 vegetarians in the family. Everyone else had a choice of three dishes, that looked nice, although I heard it all tasted pretty bad. The caterer served all the vegetarians with half a microwaved, upside down potato. No filling or even butter.Nothing else on the plate. We all went back to the hotel hungry. The bride and groom were pissed off. They had paid well over $100 a plate.

I would definitely make everyone eat dandelions and weeds at my wedding … just to troll them.

The orange wedding theme reminds me of that gypsy wedding show from TLC...minus all the jewels....although the tiara could make up for the rest 🤣🤣🤣
