My husband is not an emotional person. He never has been. He's known as stoic and quiet. It's something I've never begrudged or been angry with, as it's just who he is. He's the love of my life and I know he loves me too, in his own quiet and peaceful way. So, imagine my surprise when he began weeping softly when reading his vows during our wedding. Our photographer captured the moment. And every time I see it I think "That stoic man cried because he was so happy to marry me. I know how much he loves me."

Most guys, myself included, when we saw our bride, thought "I don't deserve this"; "how can I be this lucky?". 15 years later, I still think this, and to my faithful girlfriend, bride, wife, I will always be eternally grateful, from the first day you came down that path on our wedding day, to today.

This made me break down completely. My young Wife passed away in March 2020. She was an absolutely Beautiful Bride and I never could have imagined that I would lose her so young. I cried just as much as these Men, at my Wedding. I look at these Men and I wonder if they realize how lucky they are? I wonder if they realize how short life is - and I pray thay that will always be Happy and do everything in their Power to Love and Protect these Beautiful Brides. Our Lives are but a Whisp in the Wind.

When my parents got married my dad didn’t cry. Instead he nearly passed out seeing my mom walk down the ails with her dad. His Best Man has to hold him up the whole time. 2022 is their 40th wedding anniversary.

IT takes a REAL man to show these kinds of emotions and I love it. My husband cried on our wedding day and we had been together 19 years before we got married and I didn't even have a wedding dress on, that's why I love him so much he's not afraid to show his sensitive side.

So my husband actually gave me some insight into why some guys get emotional at that moment. I had to ask Lol. He said the it was a few things. He said "of course because you looked so beautiful" but also said "there's something about seeing you and your father, and the feeling that your father his putting his trust in ME to take care of this precious human being" His words! He just made me cry AGAIN! 😭😭

For context, my husband is very stoic, quiet and a bit nervous around other people so he may seem a bit cold (his voice is even lower than usual). When he's around me is very happy-go-lucky, talks a lot and gives me plenty of kisses. Just a cute introvert and yours might be also!

I'll never forget how hard my husband cried when I brought our first baby into the world. He was so overjoyed and his energy of gratitude filled the whole room. The nurses cried, my parents cried, I cried, and when our son took his first breath and we heard him cry for the first time, our lives changed forever. I will never forget the look on my husbands face. We are currently pregnant with baby #3 and I swear in my wildest dreams I never knew such happiness. My cup is overflowing. My heart is so full. Everyday I feel blessed. . . I suffer from anxiety and depression. As a teen I never thought id live a long life. But when I met my husband, for the first time I saw a future for myself. I knew i wanted to live a long life if I was living with him. I am so glad I didnt die before I got my chance at life.. For anyone struggling, it really truly does get better. Sometimes with medication, sometimes with good people who love you, sometimes with prayer or whatever works for you. But it does get better

I feel like the groom is often more emotional on the day because, let's be honest, most of the actual wedding day is a surprise to the groom. We don't know the ins and outs and what to expect so it's just hitting us all at once. The moment I saw my wife walking down the aisle it all came pouring out.

I don't even have 'future fever' for myself! I'm day dreaming about the speech I'll make at my best friends wedding!
My favorite part about a wedding is the moment the bride turns the corner and comes into the groom's line of vision. I turn to look at the front of the room and I look at his expression. I personally believe this expression says a lot about the bride and groom's relationship, past and future. If the groom has a blank expression, it tells me that the relationship is reasonably new and they haven't been through the various stages of love that other couples may have been through at this point in time. This relationship usually doesn't last very long and doesn't grow into a very pleasant situation for the two involved. If the groom is smiling, this tells me that the two have much love for one another but haven't yet been through the heartbreaks and struggles needed in order to make this relationship work long term. The couple may break at the first sign of a disagreement or challenge because they never experienced it until this point (and I don't buy the "some men don't cry" crap). However, if the man is crying, this says more than needed about the relationship. These two have fought to keep one another in their arms and know just how lucky they are to have the other's love as they have been through challenges most couples would find impossible to push through. These two's special feelings towards one another go far beyond love and will carry on until the end, despite the many challenges that await them. However, I'm not saying this is necessarily true, it's just my experiences from previous circumstances.
But I would like to say, on the odd chance that some young girl is reading this, dreaming about her wedding day, I know you can't wait until that special day and I'm sure it will be absolutely beautiful, however, don't rush into it. Don't feel the need to marry the first guy that come's along and treats you right. You deserve someone who give's you the universe. Someone who makes you feel like you are the most beautiful girl in the world. Your wedding day should be the most wonderful day of your life. I don't want you to waste it on a man who doesn't cry on the single most special day of his life.
And the other most special day of their life when they become a father
I feel like men cry the most at weddings because it took them all this willpower and percistence to finally see the love of their lives stand there all for them.. A chapter of life fully completed.
When I got married, I almost cried when I saw the guests stood up when I was entering the church. One of the guests gave me a tissue. I, then heard one of the ladies say: "Bernard needs a tissue too!" I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked up and saw my husband crying! I got so emotional I ended up looking down all the way to the altar. Everytime I tried to look up, I kept seeing him cry and then I felt like crying too. Seeing him cry was so emotional. I can't even explain it.

Any man who makes fun of grooms who get emotional when they see their bride for the first time were never taught to express their emotions and are afraid to do so.
I LOVE all of these reactions. You can tell how much they love their brides and how lucky they feel to marry them.

This....the love from movies and books is indeed a fairy-tale. You may have met the man of your future in your past, you just had your standards skewed by said interference. We are the ones when you were younger that respected you and cherished you that were always treated as jut friends whilst you chased the bad boy who treated you like trash but you wanted to change into a nice guy until you realised that the relationship was a hollow one and the good guys had moved on.
@brown bird what you have described covered myself and alot of my friends with the exception of the theological slant. I think thats a public pigeon hole more so than peoples actual beliefs. Running into these girls we really liked after many a year was ironic when they remained single and we had met a woman who actually respected us and laughed and joked with us instead of us having to be or act or look a certain way.
