Yeah, Luana's awesome. She's been my favorite drummer since I heard Echoes of the Soul. That's the first album in a long time to grab me by the throat and really make me pay close attention to the drumming. It's sublime. I even made a special trip into New York to see them open for Morbid Angel. Crypta did not disappoint. Hope they come back for a headliner soon.
Great interview! Love the setup for such a very interesting two-way conversation. As for Luana, what a great soul and spirit, with a super professional attitude, VERY intelligent and intuitive, seems very down to earth and genuinely gracious, and what a charming sense of humor!! And as for her drumming, where to even begin; I'm an old drummer and I gotta say, seeing a young drummer like her who posses such incredible speed, precision, stamina, and creativity, who is part of a brilliant new death-metal band getting to play her own work, and on top of it is still eager to learn and improve; well, she's as good as it gets. Bravo Luana. Let the road continue to harden your resolve, continue to take care of your health, and you will last a long time...! (and selfishly, that's what we're all hoping will happen!!) Crypta rules!
Dude, playing a show the day after, with all the dust and debris on your gear is like literally one of the most metal and battle hardened things I’ve heard. I saw 3 nights on that tour and they fucking killed
I also saw 3 nights. I was in Texas so there were shows in close proximaty to each other. even after all of them I still couldn't kick the buzz I wanted to keep following them so bad.
My guesses on metal being so wild out here in Brazil comes from a mix of the general passion we have in developing whatever we like (specially facing the obstacles when it comes to art in a 3rd world country) and the hatred for the conservative and mostly christian society we still have nowadays (but was kinda worse 'till the mid 80's as we where two decades of a military dictatorship). This generation of bands like Vulcano, Sepultura, Sarcófago, Mystifier... they all had this mix of extreme passion for the art and extreme hatred for the society, I think. Also, we have a very popular line here which translates as: "I'm brazilian and I never give up". That one becoming popular says a lot about Brazil hahah. Btw, Luana and Crypta are awesome. Great content dude! 🤘🏽
Apart from the wild theory, that was a great interview. Luanna is a top-shelf drummer and lays down some insane beats for Crypta. Can't wait for the new album and wish them all well. No more f*cking tornados though.
Awesome interview! Luana is amazingly talented with great character. She has an excellent taste in music too. Crypta is my favorite new band and I hope to see them live this year.

Precisely my thoughts!
