Can't believe I've missed this episode. Been a fan of Cloak since their first EP. Great episode as always! Can't wait to see them in Stockholm next month.

I have nothing but respect for Tom and the way that he went about touring the Hellhammer songs. we 80's metal fans are so fucking fussy and particular about the way things are done, especially with the old old bands. if Tom had just called the band "Hellhammer" and toured here.... all the old school 'heads would have reacted and said "its not Hellhammer... who does he think he is". he called it Triumph Of Death.. and put on the tickets "Triumph Of Death playing the songs of Hellhammer". in doing that, I had mates who played in well known 80's bands not only buy tickets, but refer to it as "the Hellhammer gig". class Tom G. (and Bono, Morrissey & Roger Waters rule.... . just saying....they have more balls than anyone. they have an opinion & they speak it. I thought that was the metal ethos)

Love all of naas' projects. The new Akhlys album is absolutely killer. I had no idea about people about whining about nazi claims, ive delved pretty deep into Nightbringers lyrics, and was already pretty deep into the subjects they talk about before i ever heard any of the music. And like....what? The reddit posts i read were ridiculous. People are just ridiculous. Anyway, im just going to enjoy the music and delve deeper into esotericm.

Great interview and great topics, we live in strange times and i think the future will be worse unless we start to use our mind/intelligence properly. Anyway, house of the black geminus Is beautiful and i think akhlys are among the best black metal bands today. I Hope to see them in Italy someday! Interesting chat and nice work for trying to put some of those questions to him surrounding some of the controversy. I have heard some things regarding some of the characters Naas is involved with but I haven't really done much of my own research. Calling everyone a Nazi doesn't seem super productive and dilutes the meaning of the word when it just gets flung around to anyone that doesn't agree with you. Also when the best things some of these people can come up with is looking at the lyrics and trying to assume intent, which is funny enough the same thing Tipper Gore did with the PMRC fiasco way back when. I enjoy Akhlys and Nightbringer and other works he is involved with but he clearly doesn't see the echo chamber he is also a part of listing off the buzz words/phrases "cancel culture" "gender ideology" "left eating itself" "cultural marxism". Just missed out on "get woke , go broke" and that conservative chud bingo card would be complete. Cool music but the guy loses me when he starts talking politics.

There's a thing called "the curse of cancel culture" where if you try to cancel someone who doesn't deserve it, you'll eventually be cancelled in the future. The guy who wrote the article that Naas mentioned was cancelled a few months ago. A guy from Adelaide who was actively involved in getting Akhlys' tour of Australia at the start of last year shut down, he was cancelled around the same time as well.

I absolutely enjoy every episode with him. It's always interesting to listen. And yes, House of the black geminus is definitely fantastic, my favourite album this year so far.

Naas is an articulate gentleman. I would imagine low vibrational accusations of linear racism are quite silly for those entrenched in the esoteric. The nature of the occult is inherently tied to specific cultures but in fact aims to transcend those mortal ties while deriving from a cultural framework. Loved the interview. So lets be explicit about its origin. Evola would not have his refined thought without the works of the great Hindu seers. So lets give India its due instead of being euphemistic about it.

A little bothered by the continued pressing of political talk. Naas is one of the most talented Black Metal musicians out there. I want to hear more about his music than what a few assholes years ago labeled him as.

as a fan of him who lives in turkiye which unfortunately nowadays has a mild but similar islamic culture and politics with iran but thanks to universe still a secular middle eastern european hybrid country I ve never ever thought that he is a nazi...but it was great to hear his perspective to these criticisms with all his sincerity and clarity...thank you so much for this great interview and I hope that iran gonna be secular again one day!🤘

Can’t place Naas’s accent I know he grew up in Colorado but sometimes I hear little bit of Irish/British. I loved the interviews you did with him before, the political/cancellation stuff is less interesting though

i don't really go to shows but i do make very rare exceptions so last year i went to a schammasch gig after waiting 3 years for the tour to happen due to the whole global thing, and it was totally worth it also don't understand the phone at shows thing, for me going to a show is such a rare occurrence that if it happens i'm there fully to experience and soak it all in excited for the new album, good conversation

Fantastic interview. Triumph of Death were incredible to watch at Brutal Assault last week. The crowd often gave "UGH" chants between songs, to Tom would reply in jest; "At least I'll be remembered for something".

Very intriguing character. Big fan of all his musical projects. Doesnt give much away and seems a very closed character. Whats hes like off camera as per your conversation about doing podcasts etc?

Very cool that Bjorn discussed his normal job. Glad you asked him more about it too. Many of these guys are afraid to discuss the financial reality of being in a good band these days. They like to pretend that they actually get by exclusively on revenue earned from their music.

To me this guy is the definition of Black Metal. The only artist I have ever seen transmitting authentic fright and danger on stage, while others seem more like cosplayers. This guy is the real deal and when he is on tour, I go and see him every time. Never disappoints
