Brilliant Guys. It always amazes me that the North American bus enthusiasts market is untapped. In the UK we are very lucky how well we are provided for.
To think i rode in at least one stick version on the Chicago Transit Authority somewhere between 1978 and about May 1980. I think it helped stoke the fire of my interest in planes, trains, and automobiles.
I remember these New Looks and Flxibles we had here in Philly back in the 80s when I was a kid. I just purchased one of your models.. Can't wait for it to arrive..
Drove those Fishbowl GM buses for the Denver transit system for a couple of decades. There were several different sub fleets, front door only suburbans, V-6 and V-8 Detroit Diesels, stick shift, the two speed and four speed Allison automatic transmissions. Good buses.
I saw this bus when it was parked at the end...I work in the area!!! Holy crap, what a coincidence!! That's the corner of Alden Road and 14th Avenue, in Markham Ontario, at the end of the video! I kept watching to see if the bus would return so I could maybe have a look at it! Awesome bus!!
Seconded :) I have something like 6 Asian/European prototypes as R/C models. Contemplating putting hobby-grade electronics in them to they can maneuver like the real thing.
Great video and thanks. It is nice that you can live your dream. Brought back memories of being a youngster (5-6 of age) in Norfolk VA during WWII and our mom would take us downtown by bus. My dad was overseas serving in the Army and we had no car. I enjoyed putting the coins in the receptacle for a fare and/or seeing the driver punch our pass. During that time I wanted to be a bus driver and with a bus stop at the corner several houses from ours I would ride my tricycle to meet the drivers who if running ahead of schedule would get out and relax for a few minutes. My mom would give me a tin plate and I would go around the house pretending I was driving a bus. One Christmas I asked for a bus drivers ticket puncher with holster which I did not get!! I will be ordering several N scale buses for my downtown city scene. Thanks for producing a city bus and bringing back some memories. Do you have plans for any Greyhound ones.?
There will almost surely be future runs with different schemes, and there's a very good chance that Greyhound will be one of them. Thank you for sharing your story!
I drove School buses (BlueBird and International) for 8 years and transit buses (New Flyer) for six. I can't imagine driving cross country in that beast. The old heads I talked to said it needed a lot of upper body strength to get around corners. I rode in the NewLook buses for years in high school & college. If you come out with one in Red Arrow maroon & cream I'm in trouble. Would go nice with my Grill Bullet & PCC trolls.
This is a great video! I enjoyed watching you drive this vintage bus cross country through Canada. It was a delightful movie to watch. You should consider taking this bus for a cross-country ride in the United States. This Bus going to various cities across the United States would be a tremendous hit with Bus and Train enthusiasts!
I’m glad you mentioned that about the UK. Im a bus driver in England, and I was going to mention that there are so many different types of buses which have been well documented. I’m glad this chap is doing the same thing where you are.
Outstanding video! I rode "New Looks" and "Old Looks" to high school in Indianapolis (Indianapolis Transit Co.) from 1965-1969 and I loved them; still do. Can't wait to get my model of it. I hope the "Old Look" is next.
First thanks for this video...now i would like to say i got my bus license to drive this bus. unfortunately for me i was about ten years too late. where i live (nyc) they have retired this bus and there are very few left. i rode this bus as a child with my dad on 42 st the real times square and throughout all that was going on around me i saw nothing but this bus.. i could go on and on but if you still have this bus id pay to take it for spin...serious. thanks and take care of that classic
Jason, so you DO have a bus license... right? Oh, it's Janet! Drive like the wind! Ha ha,, that was great. You should have her driving the bus. Thanks. Cheers, Dan
Watched it with my wife last night - yes, she enjoyed it. She was hoping to see your wife's reaction when you got back to Toronto, but in my experience, I think we all know how that scene goes!
Great Video....I never thought much about buses but you guys have opened up something new to me. Can't wait to see one of the HO models up close. And by the way...I love Canada, even though I don't live there it is my favorite place in the world.
@@rapidotrains i'm a 79 model too so that's my favourite bus. It's on the heritage fleet at the STO you probably already know that bus i'm pretty sure!

Hello from the high desert of New Mexico USA 🇺🇸. I own and live in a 1967 GM TDH-4519 city transit bus. I would really like it if you guys would make a 1/24 scale model of this bus with ac. Keep up the good work and stay safe
Love to see you guys drive this bus around the race course in Bathurst Australia..lol I'm going to see if I can get a hold of one, and see how easy it will be to convert it to run on the Faller car system.
I had a Pen pal in Manitoba Canada in H.S. She was HOT ! I was a nerd back then. An original Star Trek Nurd back then and even more so. I think your bus needs better seats, recliner type seats,at least make them look older but actually recliner type. I think its great you are promoting the hobby . Sadly, many older Train guys are passing away and their equipment is getting sold piecemeal on Craigslist and E-Bay. I see much of it being sold pennys on the dollar because there isnt enough younger guys starting layouts. I dont have room for one now because we downsized. I had a beautiful N-Scale Southern Pacific railroad layout modeled in Utah. It was mounted on an old Bar that was given to me. I had a dust cover made that was made from heavy vynal . I need to find the photographs of it. Oh,I am subscribing to your channel.
What an amazing video!! I live in Edmonton, and I sure wish I knew when you were coming, would have gladly come to Calgary. One thing I wish I had was the roll sign!!!! I have one small piece of one, Lawrence West, that's it.....do you know where a fella could find one?
Wow! You fellows did a fantastic job of putting this great video together, about this very special, classic bus! When I visited in Regina, with my Aunt & Uncle, back in about 1969 to '72, as a young boy in from the farm - I remember the thrill & excitement of riding on the Coranation/Whitmore Park city transit buses - same make/style as this one! :) THANKS for the GREAT MEMORIES! :) You guys have alot of great, original & FUNNY stuff in your excellent production! Keep up your great work/play!!! :) [You almost look like you're having too much FUN! :)] Seeing the Via passenger train in your production was special too, as I've really enjoyed travelling on/with them, an average of a couple times per year, for the past 8 years or so! You guys are just having far, far too much fun and that's a great thing!
We definitely agree! 😁
i'm only 25 and the new look buses are most favorite buses ever
You have taste my friend! GM, Brill and the old Mack's are my favorites. There is one brand that i don't like and it's Nova Bus!
For me, it's the GM old look bus, just like what Ralph Kramden used to drive!
I have never before in my life wanted a bus model.
Now I want a bus model... heck a few bus models!
Fantastic!
Thanks for this. Brought back a lot of memories. I took the 7C bus to high school every day.
14:54 A scene straight out of the 1970’s. Just amazing.
Great video, I drove those old beauties in Winnipeg. Awesome busses
Glad you liked it! We had a great time in Winnipeg!
Brings me back childhood memories
They operated in Toronto until late 2011, so even our kids have memories of them!
Love the new Looks. Rode them as a kid and teenager through high school!
👍
Brilliant Guys. It always amazes me that the North American bus enthusiasts market is untapped. In the UK we are very lucky how well we are provided for.
Mainly, I assume, because, to most, buses are for the poor in NA. This is a car culture.
This is my favorite bus model. Good Luck with it.
Ours too!
I've been at Medicine Hat Alberta but that's sad that I never got to be in the scene
👍
Remember used to ride those transit buses when I was a kid
As did most of us!
Thank You! An very entertaining Video.

Yep they're pretty awesome buses!
Your old bus is really cool. I wish I had one.
They're cool but very expensive to maintain.
I remember this bus from Spruce Meadows I worked on these buses and rode them as a kid.

It's been done in Kitchener, Ontario. I was driving!
It's not impossible .. I used to drive straight truck and would regularly grab a Tim's at the Dixie and Tomken drive-thru with a 34 foot Freightliner.
Canada is such a beautiful place, i really wish i could live out there.
Great funny video, I Drove a Bus for New York City and loved it.
Jason's dream job!

David's profile resembles comic Steve Allen. His voice is an exact replica of Allen's.
👍
I knew David looked familiar! Shoutout from Timmins!!
oooh wish I could drive her. I drove the MCI and VanHool coach buses. would love to drive the GMC fishbowls.
I drove this bus on the Bathurst and Spadina routes.
Awesome!

Maybe one day! We haven't been to Quebec with the bus yet.
