I really would love to do this run, but I never ran a ultra before. I have done several HM , 3 just this year (2022). I have also ran the xterra series , but the short runs (8k-12k). Should I just do it and give it my all, or should I wait tell next year and be more prepared?
What’s the longest run you’ve ever done and have you been doing consistent training mileage? Have you done much climbing / steeper hikes? Crown King is a great first 50k overall. The first 15 miles is relatively runnable with a regularly graded rolling wide dirt road but then the 2nd half has progressively tougher terrain with most of the climbing and even a few punchy downhills. Many will hike most of the 2nd half. It’s doable if you have a good training background and mental commitment to not quit!
I’m still debating on if I am going to do this run. I have done several Half Marathons and even some short distance trail runs. This would be my 1st ultra. I am curious what happens to the ones that get DNF.
@@momof4708 i've DNF'ed twice.. once i stopped at mile 15 and caught a ride back with the aid station workers. Another time i bailed at mile 20 and caught a ride to the top with a random jeep. its a bad race to DNF
Can’t wait, thanks for getting me juiced for this guys!
I need to get that RSGH hat Bryce has on. Thing is sweet. Also, I’m a little gutted I can’t run Crown King this year.
Is it just me or the vertical panel between them looks like The Scream?
Great convo!
Cool chat boys 🍻
history of this run was interesting to hear about. thanks!
So much more to come from the Celebrate 30 event!

If you want to hear from one of the few people who have multiple DNF's since the revival of the Crown King Scramble, I got you 🤣
