It's interesting to see each Archon have their own way to interact with a Harbinger:
- Venti being sassy while got kicked by Signora.
- Zhongli going full business mode.
- Raiden just straight up eliminate Signora on the spot after she lost the duel.
- Nahida being smart and calculating when faced with Dottore.
- And Furina going full panik.
Nahida uses Izanami on God Mode Scaramouche and blackmails Dottore.

@@Memokeeperngl since she's not the original 7, she's probably around 500 years old give or take. Meaning she's probably same size as Nahida or Furina. And Capitano and damslette have to make their appearance sooner or later. I don't think a child will survive a 2v1 against 1 and 3 of the fatui harbingers even if we help them as traveler.

Also, Nahida (who was born right after The Cataclysm) is confirmed to be the youngest archon, meaning the others were all probably alive before The Cataclysm. It is also worth noting that we don’t know if Murata is the old archon or the new one though.
As scary as arlecchino is, she actually wants to stop the prophecy as well, even tsaritsa let her use the gnosis to try to save fountaine first once she finally gets it
And the fact that she referred to the Tsaritsa as a "real archon" means that the Tsaritsa clearly shows how powerful she is, since that's how the Fatui views as the top criteria for being an Archon

I don’t trust any harbinger 100%. Like the Knave can act like she cares about Fontaine and it’s people, but we’ve seen her colleagues totally decimate innocent mortal lives just to test delusions and disrupt nations for a gnosis. I think they’re only trying to solve the prophecy because it would be a lot more difficult to find the hydro gnosis after the whole nation has literally dissolved into the ocean. Honestly after being introduced to Dottore, and seeing that he is quite literally a heartless mad scientist, I don’t trust anyone that would call him an ally or use his methods.
Damn i can just FEEL the passive aggressiveness in their conversation. Arlecchino definetly has that voice that is really hard to tell how she is feeling since there is almost no change in tone

Furina needs a lot of help, she's like an unblessed god she has the determination but nothing to help her reach her goals whatsoever. Not wisdom like Nahida. Power like the electro archon. That stolen power is the basis of the Archons' Authorities - yup pretty much it but what im curius about is... Why? Why is it important that it's the power of the sovereigns? Is that a hint that to rule the world the primordial one HAD to adapt and not just use whatever power they had/have "boom i just got born let's get this fuc off eggshell to seal of the abyss and create the world" the world... that have had to exist before FOR THE DRAGONS TO RULE OVER. It's very complicated but im glad they are learning into it more and more.

I have a theory.
The Furina we see is either an Eidolon or an Oceanid disguised as the Hydro Archon.
While the real Furina is probably trapped somewhere in the Oratrice.
I try elemental sight on Furina, and she's like other characters(gray), not a eidolon or oceanid(blue)

Probably when the Neuvilate zoned out seeing Furina and asking to leave the traveler, he was seeing the real Furina. As we know in a quest before the fountain releases, and we were learning about the water droplet if the water can form into anything, it seems she made clones of herself.
Wow nice theory. That might explain why he tolerates her. Because of the real Furina
The only problem here is that all droplet clones and Oceanid shows in blue under Elemental Sight when disguised. During tea party Furina was white when checked.
But she is Archon, is very likely her disguise is superior
My theory is that the Furina we see may be a tainted eidolon. Her eyes look like the ones we encounter in Fontaine. She may have dealt with the cataclysm in Fontaine and be tainted in the process and cursed just like the Knave said when she looked in Furina's eyes. Furina then tried to separate herself into two parts and one in Oratrice or her other consciousness stored in it.

But after Egeria the First Archon’s death at Sumeru area, Fontaine’s waters doesn’t have the ability to naturally produce Oceanids anymore.
Maybe one of the possible preventative measure for the Prophecy is if Furina can actually convince all of the Oceanids scattered across Teyvat to come back home.
Therefore, Neuvillette won’t need to reclaim the Hydro Sovereign authority from the Gnosis, that means Furina won’t need to sacrifice.
The aid of every single Oceanids will suffice, enabling them to fend off the Primodial Water.
Is that why it sort of mirrors the hydro eidolons? They're tainted too right?

It's funny to think that Arlecchino tried to assassinate Furina assuming she was the archon but wouldn't Furina's death cause a great calamity involving water if she truly was? Like how when the God of Salt was killed and turned everyone around her into salt. Assuming she's part of the 7, I think her death would cause great floods just like how when Poseidon died to the hands of Kratos in GOW. That's just my assumption to the type of calamity that would occur for the death of a divinity.
She is not trying to kill Furina allegedly. She is trying to steal the Gnosis

To think that Venti downplayed his own abilities but still managed to remain as one of the only 2 original 7 archons, makes me think he is hiding his true strength. We see how the three other archons suffer much in keeping up their positions.

But the way Venti said that the archon's power is derived from their people's faith and/or they directly rule their nations. Venti is worshipped and well-received in Monstadt. They even built a statue and cathedral for him and held various festivals.

I dont think he is hiding anything, he got much weaker because of the corrosion all of them go though. Even Zhongli isn't as strong as he used to be, Ei created the Raiden Shogun in an attempt to counter the corrosion. Zhongli is still very strong even in this current state because HE WAS JUST THAT DUDE lol, Venti wasn't the first choice for Anemo archon since it was big daddy wolf but he refused the position.

Furina getting aggressive over the accusation she isn't doing anything really shows that although she's weak to the point she can't even protect herself and had suffered through loneliness of not being understood. She does care about her people. This may be the same reason why she fears Celestia. She knows she won't have the power to save her people if Celestia were to ever aim its wrath at Fontaine, unlike the other gods who have a means or two to save theirs. She feels like someone who's trying to live up to her predecessor's legacy.
Then again, if all of these "I'm weak and don't know anything" is also an act. Which let's be honest, won't be surprising. Because Furina's been shown several times to be good at putting up an air. If she is in fact, purposely acting this way, it may mean that she's playing the cards. But of course, that's a bit of a stretch. We haven't seen anything that says Furina is indeed that manipulative. Other than one bit, her acting like she doesn't know what the Oratrice is for, is the best way to actually hide what it is for.

Arlecchino has a vision and a delusion like Childe and she's not overly friendly like he is but also not menacing and threatening like Dottore, she's intimidating but she's civil and seems like she's not over the idea of working with the traveler despite their history with the harbingers in general, if she is really going to be playable I do think they'll share a very similar relationship as we have with Childe, maybe not as close but actually on good terms.

If so then the theory that Venti gave his gnosis (or the power within) to Dvalin is looking pretty good right now.
*Gnosis are the sovereign dragons stolen power. Dvalin isn't a sovereign. Sovereigns we've known so far are Apep and Neuvilette
Dvalin is ‘modern dragon’. Neuvillette ranked higher than those
except Dvalin is not one of the Sovereigns. The only confirmed one are Nibelung, Apep, and Neuvillette
@@Version.X Dvalin and Azhdaha are heavily implied to be Reincarnated Sovergins. The theme of elemental dragons pretty much started with those two and has continued since- plus both of them are notably vishaps. Vishaps were what the race of dragons during that era were called.
In Dvalin's case, both Venti's description of his birth and the during the special Genshin AD where Enjou outright calls him a vishap. And while there are lesser vishaps, like we see for Hydro, Electro, and Geo, everything about Dvalin in the context of a vishap screams Sovergin.
And in Azhdaha's case, it's important to remember that Morax didn't actually create Azhdaha. There are two narrators in that scene, the factual Morax and the storyteller who doesn't have the full picture and likely only heard myths. As far as we know for sure, Morax gave Azhdaha eyes, and Azhdaha fought alongside Morax before eventually being sealed.

But the possibilities are there (Especially Azhdaha since he's called Lord of Vishap, Dragon king, Dragon lord). But right now i only see them as normal elemental dragons.

I kinda feel bad about Furina at the end, I think she is trying to solve it without none knowing. Furina at the end probably saw traveler and Neuvilette whole conversation about the traveler assuming Neuvilette was the Hydro Archon, so she just go walk away from the conversation. Maybe someday Furina would have a comeback again and the possibility of Furina vs Arlecchino is high too

I cannot believe that people in the comments did not realized yet. Furina is obviously the Hydro Archon. No doubt about it. She has double personality. It was hinted in version 4.0. And for those that have seen her gameplay leaks it is clear as day.
Spoiler warning:
When Furina changes from Pneuma to Ouesia with her charge attack her outfit color changes from white to black. In ouesia state she has a black outfit and summons 3 sea creatures that attacks. Also her hair is short. In pneuma state her outfit is white and she has long hair. In this state she summon a creature that heals. Ouesia Furina is courageous. Pneuma Furina is the scared and panicked one.
I assume the Ouesia Furina is the one searching for a way to stop the prophecy while pneuma Furina does all the talking. Probably ( and this is just a theory) she can even split herself in two Furinas.
She is the archon.
HOWEVER! She seems to be under some sort of curse maybe laid upon by Egeria the previous hydro archon. Her split personality thing is still kind of iffy. We still have never seen her other half.
Leaks have also shown her kit is absolutely not like the travelers. However neuvillette's IS. This is because the traveler actually the mimics the power of the dragon sovereigns. Furina doesn't seem to have this "dragon power". She seems to have been restricted access to that power and Likely will never get it since leaks of her kit suggest she has her own powers
this would make sense especially if it is based on the slime theory
A better theory: the curse that is inflicted is actually the entire purpose of Furina’s existence. Furina is the representation of the Oratrice. she cannot make any moves without it. she is simply a vessel for the Oratrice, a human mascot, so that people wouldn’t be mad about having a machine rule over them.
in the later patches, the Oratrice may be destroyed and Furina will obtain her second side, her godhood. however, her first side will receive a vision for her fight, which is why she has a default form with a vision. she will still remain a creation of Egeria, but she will finally exercise authority as a true archon, thus making her one.
Neuvilette will also obtain independence from Oratrice.
He will finally start to make decisions on his own, rather than obey to the Oratrice. he will exercise judgment properly, as a Dragon with an Ancient Authority, who doesn’t abide by the creation of an Archon.
The disappearance of Oratrice actually enables him to exercise judgement without any limits. that’s how he will obtain his dragonhood

Edit: so I don’t think her hair is constantly glowing on her drip marketing and some scenes her hair is not glowing which is interesting. Also in her drip marketing she is not wearing a “vision” and she is wearing it in her splash art.
Edit2: so after the leaks came out i can say when she is wearing the “vision” she is just in her pneuma form but in ousia her hair is glowing

Okay, can someone please step in for Furina? This is just sad; poor girl needs counseling.
I think furina split herself. The other part, the one we haven't seen yet, is implementing a plan to save fontaine. Considering how water entities work in this game, and how they can change form, that other part could be anything, perhaps even the oritrice itself, or a part of it along with the gnosis.
Arlecchino says furina, the one we meet, is cursed. Maybe that curse affected her memory, and she no longer remembers the plan fully, and only knows that there is a plan in the works. Or maybe she hasn't forgotten the plan, but just can't implement it for some reason, like the curse or a lack of overall stored power.
So if they need that power to save fontaine, and the way to generate that power is through trials, then how best to do that? Make ridiculous laws that ensure many more people than usual end up in court. Then, make that court a spectacle. Make it the event to attend. So that's what the furina we meet had to do. That's her role, that and to keep a positive appearance with her people. Be in the spotlight and keep their attention. That's why everything about her screams "look at me."
Meanwhile, her other part is elsewhere, I think in the oritrice. While we haven't met her yet, we may have heard her. She's who is crying in the fountain. She's been alone for potentially hundreds of years, and she hasn't handled the solitude as well as Ei did.

I think Furina might make a decision wherein she'll give up her godhood or gnosis to Nuevilette in order for Nuevilette to be strong enough to put an end to the prophecy, and the gnosis is inside the oratrice constantly gathering indemnitium to make the gnosis contain more power, perhaps the indemntium acts as the belief or the faith of the people of fontaine towards the judgment of their god or the oratrice, after all it was said that the faith of the people has an impact in the power or strength of a god.
I also feel the same, the dialogue towards the end kind of confirms it though no? him basically hinting that the archon needs to be gone in order for him to get his elemental power back and be able to actually do something about the prophecy is kind of a dead giveaway with all the furina splashart leaks and her wielding a vision.

I kinda piece the puzzle together in the 4.1 trailer when Neuvillette mention "in this form" as if he's not a human and how he can one shot a fully transformed Childe so easily.
And mihoyo love to foreshadowing with either event prior to a new region release, i think the Furina we see might be just a hydro eidolon in disguise with the real one probably trapped in the oratrice, especially how Lyney mention he heard a voice when he's close to the oratrice core.

Neuvillette doesn't belong either to the old dragon sovereign like Apep. He is the new and current Hydro dragon sovereign. The old Hydro dragon sovereign is dead.
So it's possible that Venti gave his Anemo power to Dvalin in order to return the elemental power that was stolen by the Userper.
Since Venti was a single thread of the thousand winds of time. It's natural for him to gain Anemo power due to his connection with Istaroth, one of Phanes shade.

I think Furina hides her real identity somewhere and what we see now is her puppet or Eidolon. As a god of water, she might have the ability to move her consciousness in and out of the puppet at any time same as Nahida did with Katheryne, and also able to create a clone. When Furina refuted Arlecchino's accusations fiercely 7:36 , I believe that was when her real self showed up and I even think that the Traveler's doubt at first is correct. Furina may appear innocent completely, but who knows Fontaine is like a theater after all and every character's deception is one of a foreshadow, no?

Yes Apep is an ancient Dragon Sovereign compared to Nuevillette who is much younger. Apep was present during the time of the Primordial One's invasion and the killing of the Dragon King, pretty much all of the ancient dragon sovereigns perished during the war and Apep is probably the only one remaining and this happened way before Morax's descent to Teyvat which 6k+ years. Plus the vishaps of Enkanomiya are direct descendants of the former Hydro sovereign not Nuevillette.

Maybe I'm missing something that could explain it but isn't it odd that Arlecchino is saying "one of the 11 Fatui Harbingers" when they're should only be 10 if the Wanderer changed his fate so that he wouldn't have been involved? Like I get things would have still happened, since his friend still died regardless of what he did, but would that mean someone replaced the Wanderer or that the Fatui still know who the 11th was like how we and Nadia remembered him?
There's also Signora missing.
I can think of a few possibilities why it's still 11 Harbingers:
1) They're unaware of Scara's existence so they think 6th seat was vacant for 400 years.
2) They were prepared for changes in Irminsul similar to Nahida.
3) There's a Descender amongst their ranks.
4) Descenders aren't the only ones who can keep their memories (this would most likely involve Abyss).
Either way, we probably won't get a specific answer any time soon.

As for why, lore-wise, unless you were one of the original 7 Archons (Only Venti and Zhongli survived), the catalysm 500 years ago killed so many gods and people. It makes sense the successors to the original 7 would have some form of a sad/tragic history.
Ex. Ei lost her sister and many of her friends which caused her to shut herself from the world belieivng it was for the best of Inazuma.
Or Nahida who was unknownly created by Rukkhadevata and lived her life under her shadow. Only until when she found out about the truth did she realize she was created to replace Rukkhadevata and must erase her from history in order to save the people of Sumeru.
Personally, this is Hoyoverse. Their last game, Honkai Impact 3rd, was filled with tragic backstories, depression, and loss. (MC in the game literally was going to commit suicide out of guilt) I think the Genshin writers took inspiration on that to develop it into their own story

Given that Arlecchino herself has said she's eager to work with the Traveller in the future, I wonder if the next part of this Archon Quest will force the Traveller to put aside his distrust and actually work with the Fatui.
At the end, maybe the Traveler will have the Gnosis, but has to make a choice, fulfill his original goal, which was to keep the gnosis from the Fatui, but at the cost of Fontaine's people, or give it Arlecchino, save Fontaine, but lose another gnosis to the Fatui.
Live or die, Traveller. Make our choice.
It's not like Traveler have never helped Fatui members.
