@@snailman4395 Yessir! That's exactly how I remember Clown breaking this song down. It's a 23 year old memory, but yes, Clown said this song was about slitting your wrists in a bathtub and waiting to bleed out.
Yep. Wasn't expecting the word 'metaphysical' in a Slipknot reaction. As well as speaking intelligently she gets it. Slipknot are sometimes best appreciated by feeling it rather than analysing it. Not that the lyrics don't have meaning but the first time you hear this song it's a lot to take in. She both got it and talked intelligently about what it might mean. You've done fucking well for yourself there Brad.
Omfg seeing Lex just rocking out to this honestly made my eyes watery... her excitement seems to be exactly the same excitement I felt the first time I heard this song back when I was 13 maybe 14.. I wish I could go back and listen to all my favorite music for the first time all over again and honestly felt that I did vicariously through Lex.. don't mean to be weird it's just an awesome experience and I love both of you guys...
YES! It was the first Slipknot song I heard, and was around the same age as well. That is exactly why I love reaction channels, you get a small part of that feeling of the first time you heard something.
@@raymondkoenen8957 Yeah I absolutely agree. I just haven't seen a first time reaction to slipknot that seems as genuine as hers. The headbop, the stink face, the mouthing of lyrics, the clenched fists. It's all too relatable. And the fact that Brad is just staring at the screen like tf, the same way my parents would be trying to understand the things I liked... perfect. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
2 person mosh pit right there on the couch 🤘🏼 Lex is having a full on metal awakening 😂 and Brad, where do you bounce from? You bounce from your soul 🤣🤣🤣
I absolutely loved watching this happen. To see the metal head in Lex awaken was amazing, and to see Brad quit analyzing and finally just feel it, ending with a growl. Thank you guys!
She decoded more about the songs meaning in her first listen than I have in my entire life, and I've known this song since 9th grade... I'm 27 now.. I can't help but have mad respect for that, first time coming across the channel and now I'm motivated to explore it more. And the guys utter confusion was pretty hilarious while she's just over there living her best life
I've listened to this song many times since it was released. I'm not huge on lyrics and meanings of songs buuuut...until this very moment I thought it was about an old girlfriend of his named Michelle....
“It’s like a rollercoaster” - Exactly! Sometimes when you really feel the music it can be a release for pent up frustration from work problems, money problems, life problems etc. Its like reconnecting to that primal energy that we all still have deep down, if that makes sense.
It's always great to see someone (Lex) realize that they were always a diehard metal fan all along haha!!! You guys have to do all the Slipknot, Pantera, Lamb of God the list goes on and on. More Jinjer and Falling in Reverse too haha!
You folks are the perfect representation of music audience - one part is all about the lyrics and the hidden meaning, the other is about the music! Love you, wish you all the best!
Oh man... this is gonna be an epic rabbit hole. ✌🤘💙 The bounce comes from the diaphragm, your center.. let it rise into your shoulders, neck, and head.. let the emotion and music guide your movements.. vibe to it, then bop.. evolving to headbanging, bodybanging, etc. It's free-form hype.
Ok ok ok, but now you’ve gotta do “Devil in I”, “Snuff”, “psychosocial”, “duality”, “before I forget”, and “unsainted”. Yes they change their masks every album. Usually the single from the new album is how they reveal the new mask, usually it involves them shedding their old selves to reveal the new. Love the reactions, the branching out, and the openness to try new stuff guys!
I very much enjoy watching people from different cultures and walks in life react to other cultures, people who are rap fans listening to metal, metal heads reacting to hip hop, both listening to country, broadening horizons in music is beautiful because we need that variety.
This was my favorite reaction from you both. Brad was a little bit of "fish out of water", but tried to hard to get it, and Lex was straight out vibin'. You guys are great
Yessss...Slipknot is very innovative, that's what put them on the scene and made them stand out from the rest, it's also why they are still around after almost 20 years playing great music.
Wow, Brad is the son of one my mates from grad school. Carbon copy....wicked smart, reserved, introspective, and analytical. Lex, I agree with everyone. Your inner metalhead has emerged.
When you both started to bounce and get into it that was so cool and absolutely adorable! Glad you guys go into it! Lexi is so energetic! Loved your reactions to this!
This was a truly epic reaction. So many reaction videos rarely appreciate the music and the lyrics. Lex's breakdown of the lyrics was really thoughtful and deep. I also never stop loving watching someone fully lose themselves to metal for the first time and experience the high we chase the rest of our lives. The thing with metal compared to drugs is sometimes the high is even better then next time when you hear that next bad ass track from another metal band. Keep going guys. This was awesome to watch.
i always felt that Metal as a genre took all the hate, anger, pain, and suffering that lay just under the surface of each and every one of us, and let it explode out in 3-9 minuets of glorious catharsis.

The great thing about Slipknot is you can interpret their songs any way you want.
