My grandma raised 4 baby crows that fell out of a nest. When they were old enough she took them to the park to set them free. Everyday she went back and the 4 crows would fly to her and perch all over her. She said eventually only 3 came back, then 2, then 1 and then none. This went on for close to a year. Crows are amazing. Ravens are bigger and they have a really unique sound. Their chirp sounds between a chicken and a bird. Crows are just loud, not so with ravens

This was such a great project! I absolutely loved it! It would be fun to try a bat using the same process 😬

Crows not only remember faces for years, they tell their children about the faces they remember!! So if you slight a crow, they will torment you for generations 😆. They are the most amazing animals honestly. If they LIKE you, they will bring you gifts, that probably goes on for generations too!
I heard the way to tell the difference between a crow and a raven is if you see one and go 'huh I wonder if that's a crow or a raven' it's probably a crow. But if you go 'HOLY **** WHAT HUGE BIRD IS THAT?!" it's probably a raven. They are kind of crazy big, like raptor big (raptor as in kind of bird, not dinosaur 🤣)

I'm in an art class where I am painting a Halloween picture with a crow sitting on a pumpkin with acrylics. I am looking for advice on how to shade the crow. This will help. I used carbon paper to transfer the original drawing to a canvas. Saves me from drawing the same picture twice.
PS where i live in Canada, there are many crows in my neighborhood, along with swallows.

It is so, so much fun! We LOVED how Sarah taught us how to capture movement in this painting. 10/10 recommend giving this project a try.

Sarah, I have the momentum to paint the crow using watercolors, but the colors you provided to us aren't available in stores such as Michaels and Jo-Ann. Also I haven't checked my local art supplies store in downtown. So, is it possible to just purchase the Gouache watercolor paint kit from said stores with different color types than the ones you used like Lamp Black instead of Ivory Black and Caruelean Blue instead of Primary Cyan, for example? Or would I have to find the correct Watercolor types you mentioned at the beginning of the video elsewhere or through the Lets Make Art website?

You can totally substitute different brands of gouache to create your version of this project.

Looks more like a funky sparrow than a crow...
