Make sure you are under good lighting when you try to replace the cushions, I failed several times and got frustrated, I moved to better lighting and got it done the first try. Makes it easier to see the tabs. Also if you look at all 10 tabs, two of them are closer to each other than any of the others. I found it easiest to get those two done first, then to move on from there. Hope this is helpful to at least one person out there cause even after watching the video I had a rough time at first.

I'm on my second set of bose head phones. I've been re-sewing the foam back in and I keep worrying that I'll damage them. I was doing this because I didn't know they were replaceable and I can't afford new ones. So I'm giving you a Big Thank You!!! This will save me a ton of time and prolong them. I have ear sensitivity and use them ALL the time.

Add me to the list of people who are grateful for this video! The ear pads on my QC35 II's started to flake apart and I ordered a replacement set nearly identical to the ones shown here, and your step-by-step (especially the suggestion of working under bright light) was perfect. One thing though: I opted to leave the original "L" and "R" shields in place and only replaced the pads. I'll update here again if or when this causes my QC35 II's to burst into flames 🔥😄🔥

Javier: Nicely done and simply explained - there's an art to that. Believe it or not, I bought mine in 2017 and the right earpiece just split wide open several days ago (always handled them with care, so they lasted). I bought this exact same earpiece replacement that you used in the demo, and will find out tonight how apt I am at the process. Hopefully like a breeze. A little tip some may find helpful. Mark off with a pencil the locations of each tab. It makes it so much easier to figure out where you need to click or place the rim underneath the tabs when you are putting the new pads on. It literally took me a minute for each side having previously struggled for ages and wanted to throw them out of the window!

Thank you for the dupe recommendation. I held off ordering pads from Bose bc I thought the replacement was a planned obsolescence strategy - the headphones are built to break so you spend money fixing them, and they manufacture your consent in creating waste. However, once I removed the pad they were VERY gross underneath, so although I still think the pads aren't the best quality (foam coming out after only a year), I can see a hygiene benefit in changing the pads. Thank you!

Great video, my second time replacing my earpads - using your video!
I wanted to note, I went with the generic ones first - terrible choice ( I just got in my new original Bose today), the generics lasted a year, the foam collapsed, the black dye from the earpad is peeling and depositing on my ear, or counter where I lay them. As soon as the foam started collapsing, I was getting lots of outside noises coming in.
Bite the bullet and by original. Thank you again, your video is a huge help.

The video was a great help to see what needed to be done with the tabs - thanks!
For others that may see this in the future (including myself 😃), I bought a knock-off set of pads that didn't come with a tool. I found a car panel tool to work great in getting the rubber rim into the tabs. You still want to be a little careful so as not to pierce the padding with the tool.

Thanks, so helpful! A couple of more tips I learned while doing this 1) in case yours didn't come with such a plastic tool (original Bose didn't), and you need one to get it to click (my longer nails were getting in the way) - a Lego brick separator or sth similar works well! 2) be careful when pulling off the papers off the glue - I let my kiddo do it and came off with the glue... but hopefully the cushions are firmly enough in place so it shouldn't move much :-)
