I tried for over an hour and even went to Best Buy’s Geek Squad and they could not do it. I finally went back to my car and googled how to replace my QC35 cushions and this video came up. Thank you for such a simple video that gave me the results I needed. I’ll be following your page for future videos. Thank you again.
The trick is at the end when you can't get the last bit in, you have to grab the cushion between thumb and forefinger and twist it into place. Once I discovered THAT, I can change the pads like a pro!
Still can't ever get that last one in. By that time, I'm usually ready to throw the headphone as hard as I can against the wall, so I just live with the one last spot on each side unclipped.
I finally received my ear pads today, and my headset is completely a new headset. I had forgotten the feeling of a new headset. For those struggling getting the ring into the hook: I also did at first, before I understood how to it in the easiest way. Instead of forcing it sideways into the hook, simply press downwards and you'll hear the click. At first I also struggled with getting the click, but then to realize that the ring went out of its hook after I had worked on getting the ring into another hook. The way I solved this, was by first fixing the top and bottom hooks. After I understood all this, it took about five minutes. Thanks to Wicked for delivering such great earpads. My headset is as good as new, if not even better.

How did you EVER keep them working? Mine keep telling me (after 6 months) to "PAIR" which NEVER HAPPENED...NEVER WORKED AGAIN!!! TOTAL waste of $350!!!
@@pismotclam6717 I had to get my first pair replaced under warranty because, after a few months, it would turn on even when the switch was turned off. It kept running down the battery! I finally figured out that if you use a physical cord to plug it into a device (I use them with my computer, which doesn't have bluetooth) and you pull the cable out of the jack in the headphones before you turn the noise cancelling switch off, it eventually breaks the switch. I had a desk drawer handle the very short 4 ft Bose cord kept catching on, pulling them out of the headphones every time I tried to put them on. And sometimes I'd just pull it out while it was on so I could pair them to my phone. I got a longer cord and stopped doing this when the new pair came, and didn't have a problem again. But now, just after the warranty on the 2nd pair expired, the pads are falling apart at an alarming speed! It's such bad design. I love the sound quality of bose, but my god, the hardware is such bad quality, especially considering how expensive they are. I've ordered a pair of these WC pads and am very hopeful they'll last me a good long while. I doubt I'll be looking at Bose again in the future, however, when shopping for new headphones. They're just too unreliable. I'll probably go back to Sony. I wore my Sonys for over 10 years without issue. I'm so disappointed in Bose.
Really impressed with the Wicked cushions I received today. After 3 years of owning the QC35, the factory cushions were falling apart and started smelling really bad since I get sweaty. After installing the new cushions, these headphones are like new again. The noise cancellation is hugely improved since it forms a tighter seal on my ears. And these actually seem more comfortable than the factory cushions even when they were new. Snow camo looks great and they are reasonably priced. Thank you!
I left my ear pads on longer than I should have because I was scared I’d break my headphones if I replaced them. Your video gave me the confidence to go ahead, thanks. Lots of light needed as it’s hard to see the hooks, a little patience and it’s easy enough.
Just got mine in the mail today and installed them. They're perfect! So happy I was able to replace my old really worn out cushions. The installation took me less than 10 minutes. A trick mentioned in the comments here to fix the top and bottom hooks first was clutch. Using my fingernail to apply pressure right above each clip made the whole process really easy. Thanks Wicked Cushions! Good product!
I used my headphones for two years until it had ripped so much that I had no other option but to change the earpads. The feeling is so different lmao. Its great.
I’m from the Netherlands and I have ordered the earpads less than two weeks ago. I’ve already received them this morning, it just took me like 10 minutes to replace them. I totally agree, and I'm a pretty big tech nerd who knows my way around these things. This was just way harder for me for some reason, and this vid didn't do much to help **Edit** if you have an ifixit kit, the little flat black spudgers help immensely with getting the ring on the pads to "click" into the frame. If you don't have an ifixit kit (get one lol), use like a guitar pick, cut up an old credit card, or very carefully use a very small, very dull, blunt flathead screwdriver. Just need something rigid, small, narrow, and flat.
The real truth is, I was born to do this and nothing else but this 😆 One more thing, at that point I have probably did that more than a 100 times, so its not really fair...
Just finished installing my new wicked cushions on my QC35II. In the last week or so I noticed my original Bose cushions (silver) looked like bad a paint job on a car where the paint had started to flake off. I was a little concerned about the difficulty of the process and that I might break something but there's really nothing to it. Once you get the first few hooks seated your essentially home free. Definitely worth the price.
My left ear pad accidentally ripped out about a couple months ago. Ever since I’ve been using the headphones with the left pad loosely in place, has been super annoying but finally I learned that I’m able to fix it!! Thanks so much!
I used my qc35's over hearing aids which destroyed the pads super fast, this is the second time i've replaced them since buying them, and the 10 clicks tip for installation is the best tip I have seen for these ever!
I wasn't clear on how to replace the earpads with the written instructions but good thing it writes in big letters "WATCH THE VIDEO". Very good demonstration and a very good product. Thank you.
What! I had noooo idea I could replace my ear pads! I've stained mine from all the random colors of hair dye I experiment with, not to mention the sweat smell that's starting to sink in from working out in them. Wow. So glad I stumbled upon your video!
Looks like i'll be making a purchase of your replacement pads soon. Mine are finally getting pretty worn. Love my headphones. Great investment for being able to work in comfort and a great listening experience.
Thank you. Replacement ear pads came today. I followed your instructions to the letter. It took less than five minutes to remove the old pads and install the new pads. Very good video. Kinda want the camo ear pads now.
I just installed mine today. I used a black magic marker to locate pins easily. Installation took 7 minutes for my first time attempt. Easy to install and seem to fit comfortably over my ears. The original set lasted 1 1/2 years, let's see how long for this one. Stay tuned.
Super video, thanks. I replaced my pads in about 10 mins. Mine came with a small plastic (non sharp) blade to poke the ring over the nibs. Worked like a dream. Thanks!
Just fixed Ash Wicked Cushions ear cups (bought from amazon Australia) into my Bose QC 35 II. High quality product. Easy to install after following these instructions in the video.
I just received my replacement set and it is beyond difficult to get the new pads to snap in. I had 2 other ppl try, thinking I was going crazy as well but they all gave up. After about 45 mins, ONE tab filing fit into place which made the others a bit easier but it was the worst thing to get done! No BS, my joints now hurt from it
Sorry about that. But I'm glad to know that it's installed on your headphones now. Feel free to contact us if you need help. Unfortunately there is not much we can do in terms of the installation since Bose are the one's that made them fit this way. What do you think we can do better in the video to make the process more clear?
Thanks a lot! Great demo!! When you pull them out, don't yank or you will tear the delicate Pleather material. Tuck finger into the inside, feel the rim and hold that when pulling out. It should snap out easily. The model number is hidden on inside rim of hard plastic. You see it after you take out the ear pads. Its on one side not the other. When putting it back in, tuck first section under, and go around snapping rest of it in bit by bit. Its easy. Don't force it.
bless you! my noise cancellation has been broken for a month now, and I was terrified it was a big problem. I was scared to take the pads off and reattach them because I didn't want to accidentally break my headphones, but I followed this video and my noise cancellation problem was resolved. The pads must have gotten out of alignment or something (whatever the term is for this problem), and reattaching them fixed it. thanks!
Thank you so much! This helped a great deal, the pair of cushions I ordered came with a really handle toothpick kind of tool, made this a 2 min job! thank you!
Great video, it’s awesome that they made a video to put on the pads I bought, I’ve once bought some Sony ear pads and it took hours to put on this just took me like 20 minutes (20 because I’m stupid lol) it was pretty quick. Great video overall! :)
Thanks mate! Even though I didn't purchase my replacements from you (I'm in the UK so shipping would have been expensive for me), I sought out this video to help me.
Just got mine in the mail. Bought after watching this video. Bose wanted to charge me for the cushions and extra $15 for installation. For the wear after just one year. Screw that. These cushions are way higher quality and brainless to install. Highly recommended.
Hey Brandon, so happy to hear that we could help! If there is anything you need, we are right here. Do not forget you have a full 1 year warranty on our cushions in case anything happens :)
This is my second time installing replacement pads. I do not recall it being difficult at all. Have read a lot of comments. Watched the video over and over. Just seems like there is no room for the pads to go under the hooks. I won't give up.
Hi, thanks for the guide. my Bose's pads is shedding and this video definitely helps. by the way, do you know what's the white tape at 0:44 ? it seems like a ribbon cable covering a driver.
Done. Easy. Well... reasonably easy. The backing tape would not come off one tape strip on the left backing pad. Just would not peel apart so I pulled the tape strip off the backing bit on stuck it in with only one tape strip. Seems fine. Bit of a knack to getting the ear pad under all the lugs but I got there. Thanks.
I didn't realize my headphones were still sounding so good. The foam in mine was so bad that I thought they were dying. Glad this fixed it. I do not have the money to buy new headphones this good, but using these for the past 4 years has spoiled me
I just got my new Wicked Cushion ear pads for my Bose QC35. Went through the video... it was a snap (pun intended :) ). My headphones are like new again. I almost scrapped my headphones and would have spent about $300 again for a new one. Luckily, Wicked Cushions came up in Google Search, and 2 weeks later, I'm a very happy user. I dug up my even older pair of Bose QC25, which luckily I did not throw away. Just ordered replacement pads for it too.
yes, a little tricky getting the new pads on at first, but stick with it, once you figure it out it is easy...Great replacement pads, and very good packing and communication.
My man, you did such a good, complete, and thorough job of explaining this, even answering questions in areas as they were forming in my mind (“am I pulling TOO hard to get these things off, as I change them for the first time? Am I about to damage these $300+/ whatever it was I paid for them headphones?”) well done, and sincere thanks to you! Once I finally order my new pads, I’ll be coming back to this video!
Just wondering how I decide what ear pads to purchase? I've found some $10 ones on ebay but I feel like the quality would probably be worse than the original pads
Just installed my new pair. Not too bad once you get the hang of clicking into the hooks. The most annoying part was the double sided tape you guys use on the inner liners. Was so hard to separate the paper from the tape, without removing or ruining the tape.
Ugh. Bought my on-ear Sound Link in 2014 and just realized I could change the ear pads.. Mine are shredded.. Sniff.!! Not sure but I think Bose has the pads for the SoundLink.? I can not find them on your links.. I have back up headphones but these are my most favorite.. Thought I had to toss them out because of the pads.. Thank you SO much for your video.. It helped.. yay.!!
I got you, the one's you see in this link here would fit: wickedcushions.com/collections/bose-replacement-ear-pads/products/replacement-ear-pads-for-bose-soundlink-soundtrue-oe2-on-ear-black
I wish it was easy to replace the headband Julia, it requires taking them apart, messing with electrical wires. Its not somethin I would recommend anyone doing. Too much risk of ruining the headset
Good as new, thank you! Sure beats having burst foam on my ears. If anyone can't see the hooks, they are pretty tiny and a little further up on the side.
How well in quality are these aftermarket ear pads compared to Bose Q35s Regular Quality In Softness Firmness Percentage you'd say? Do the qualities come close or better for feel? :)
I am thinking you mean the marks on the actual plastic ring that is on the back of the ear pads? These marks are not built in to the ear pad, they are created over time by being pressured under the hooks.
Thanks for the video. Just bought the costco bose qc35's and like it that I can replace the ear pads without tossing the entire set, as I have with many previous non-bose headsets. How long can I expect to get good usage out of the rechargeable battery and can that get replaced?
AFAIK the battery can't be replaced. I've had mine for maybe three years, used almost daily, and the battery life is still superb, so it's probably not a major issue.
Same as elenchus - I've used mine every weekday for 6+ hours (I'm a software developer) for the past 2.5 years and they still charge back up to 100% really fast and take a few days to drain down to about 20% where I'll charge them back up again.
thank you for the tutorial! im still a little scared to replace them that i may mess up, but mine ive had for like 3 years now somehow and they smell a bit sweaty :’)) so i will order replacement pads soon and hopefully they will be nice and fresh

Glad I could help. Just know that we are in amazon UK for next time, super fast and cheap shipping.
Most affordable replacements I’ve found and they feel great. Also very easy to pop in, we’ll just see how they hold up now
Glad we could help!
Thank you for this tutorial. IMHO, this is what the internet is all about.
My pleasure
I believe in you
Great video, I brought one of your earpads rather than a cheaper one as a thank you!
Thanks for your support :)
Hi, thanks for the guide. my Bose's pads is shedding and this video definitely helps.
by the way, do you know what's the white tape at 0:44 ? it seems like a ribbon cable covering a driver.
It is to cover the sensitive parts of the speaker
@@WickedCushions okay, thx
Cheers for that one buddy. Had genuine trouble getting them to click in.
Glad to hear you got it sorted!
I just got my third cushion replacement from Wicked, and they're amazing! I love their quality!
Thanks for coming back!
3rd?! How often are you replacing them
THANK YOU SO MUCH. THIS KIND OF HELP IS WHAT THE INTERNET SHOULD BE. TRIBUTE TO YOU. AGAIN, THANKS
You're welcome! Really happy we could help! enjoy :)
Done. Easy. Well... reasonably easy. The backing tape would not come off one tape strip on the left backing pad. Just would not peel apart so I pulled the tape strip off the backing bit on stuck it in with only one tape strip. Seems fine. Bit of a knack to getting the ear pad under all the lugs but I got there. Thanks.
Happens sometime with the screen tape :(
Thank you. Clear and to-the-point instructions on how to swap those earpads, appreciated. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, love my red camo ear pads and I'm glad I replaced the screen mats because it was really dirty in there.
You're welcome! Glad to help!
I didn't realize my headphones were still sounding so good. The foam in mine was so bad that I thought they were dying. Glad this fixed it. I do not have the money to buy new headphones this good, but using these for the past 4 years has spoiled me
I am glad I could save you some money!
Thank you! Mine finally ripped and after watching this video I have no doubt and will be replacing mine!
Good luck!
Thanks for the awesome video! Saved me a lot of time, last time was a huge challenge but this time was way easier with your guidance
Glad it helped!
So happy to hear that! Glad we could help out :)
Many thanks for video. I have successfully fitted mine all thx to your easy to follow tutorial
You're welcome! Really happy we could help! enjoy :)
Super helpful and easy to follow. Thank you!
Great to hear!
Thank you so much! You extended the life of my headphones by another year or two with this video. Appreciate it a lot.
You're welcome! Really happy we could help! enjoy :)
yes, a little tricky getting the new pads on at first, but stick with it, once you figure it out it is easy...Great replacement pads, and very good packing and communication.
Thank you!
Just got mine replaced. Feels like a completely different headphone. Thanks for the tips.
Glad I could help!
Thank you i just ordered my replacement ear pads thanks to your link and how to replace mine..
Excite for you to try them out!
Perfect video. Thanks. Helped a lot to change mine in seconds. Thanks for sharing !
Glad it helped!
You're welcome Mike. We're just here if you need help.
Thanks, random video I needed 3 months ago and not now.
Better later than never :)
What an ass!
@@adksherm Don't call the RUclips algorithm names. It's doing the best it can.
Just wondering how I decide what ear pads to purchase? I've found some $10 ones on ebay but I feel like the quality would probably be worse than the original pads
Can't say anything about other ear pads but try ours. Here's our Bose ear pads: wickedcushions.com/collections/bose-replacement-ear-pads
is there a replacement piece for the headband? mine is deteriorating just like the earpads (had them for 3 years)
Sorry but we do not have replacement headband.
Thank you so much for making this video!!! It was so helpful!!!
You're welcome! Really happy we could help! enjoy :)
Just installed my new pair. Not too bad once you get the hang of clicking into the hooks. The most annoying part was the double sided tape you guys use on the inner liners. Was so hard to separate the paper from the tape, without removing or ruining the tape.
We been trying to fix that for so long and it just keeps happening, I think its because of how thin of a layer it has to be
It helped.. yay.!!
I got you, the one's you see in this link here would fit:
wickedcushions.com/collections/bose-replacement-ear-pads/products/replacement-ear-pads-for-bose-soundlink-soundtrue-oe2-on-ear-black
you should sell the headband replacement too. your products are great quality, i'm so happy with my new wicked cusions :)
I wish it was easy to replace the headband Julia, it requires taking them apart, messing with electrical wires. Its not somethin I would recommend anyone doing. Too much risk of ruining the headset
I literally just installed these and instantly the headphones are cold. WICKED. I seriously need a pair for my QC Ultras too.
Working on them!
Have my pair for over three years now. Will try replacing the ripped up ear cushions once I get replacement cushions.
You will love the new feel!
Good as new, thank you! Sure beats having burst foam on my ears. If anyone can't see the hooks, they are pretty tiny and a little further up on the side.
You welcome!
Thank you, I just did it, easy because of your explanation!
Glad it helped!
Just ordered from you guys! Thanks for the video demo!
Hope you like it!
Just replaced mine and it was easy, my headphones are like new again, thanks.
Hey! thank you so much for the awesome review.
How well in quality are these aftermarket ear pads compared to Bose Q35s Regular Quality In Softness Firmness Percentage you'd say?
Do the qualities come close or better for feel? :)
I am not objective honestly, but you can read our amazon reviews :)
Great explanation! Did it on the first try!
Glad it helped!
Question - the newer ear pads I purchased don't have those blocks to make it hook to my headphones. Anyway around that?
I am thinking you mean the marks on the actual plastic ring that is on the back of the ear pads?
These marks are not built in to the ear pad, they are created over time by being pressured under the hooks.
@@WickedCushions Ahh! Cool, thank you :)
Thank you for these instructions, they were very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Replaced my ear pads. Thank so much!
Glad I could help!
Yooo I thought I was gonna have to put mine up forever. Thanks bruv
You welcome!
So helpful, thanks!
You're welcome! Really happy we could help! enjoy :)
These are really good!!! I am very impressed
Glad you like them!
thank you for the tutorial! im still a little scared to replace them that i may mess up, but mine ive had for like 3 years now somehow and they smell a bit sweaty :’)) so i will order replacement pads soon and hopefully they will be nice and fresh
Hey, its super easy! don't worry bout it.
Great product and easy installation thanks to the video. Very well done
Glad you liked it!
Thanks. It was easier than I thought
Glad this was helpful!
Thanks to your video I got em one much better this time 😃
Glad I could help!
Wicked Cushion, I got my Bose Qc 35 II I need to replace but where I can get the original bose earcup? Showroom?
You can get them on their website / showroom / Amazon (I would be weary of the one's saying they are selling original bose, sometimes its fake)
Thank you!! This was really helpful
