    Unless I'm doing it wrong, the echo effect smear doesn't work well with an outlined shape since it will show copies of the shape inside the negative space rather than look like its warping due to movement.

    I didn't understand how the "face" and "circle" layer wasn't showing on 3:36, can you explain?

    • @MotionXP
      @MotionXP  Год назад +1

      I keyframed the opacity of the face and circle using hold keyframes so that both layers have zero opacity during the time the smear frames are on screen. Let me know if that makes sense.

    do smear frames with the echo effect only work on moving objects? mine is rotating in place:/

    • @MotionXP
      @MotionXP  Год назад

      A rotating object should work with the echo effect! Unless of course the rotating object is a flat colour circle (for obvious reasons 🙃)

    How do you feel about Cartoon Moblur?

    • @MotionXP
      @MotionXP  Год назад +1

      I think the main thing is to distinguish between trails and smears...Cartoon Moblur seems awesome for creating aesthetic trails but if you wanted to use it for smears you would probably have to mess around with keyframing some of the properties.

    There's no right or wrong way of making smears, everyone has their own style, nobody draws smears the same way.
