One thing I learned doing my own testing for accuracy. When switching pellets to test for accuracy, it can take up to 15-20 shots of that particular pellet before the barrel properly responds. Then go ahead and put it on paper. I know it's a pain in the rear. Took the tip from a 22 bullseye shooter. Has to do with the different lubes and coatings they put on the pellet. Really does make a big difference. Testing just takes a bit longer. Great video 👍
In theory. Very, very small (if any) difference in real life. Based upon lots of testing I did with/without in-between cleaning shooting at different distances and stances. But, the general cleaning, after each, say, 200 - 250 pellets is certainly recommendable, IF one insists on ultimate accuracy (but then again, we are talking about a couple of millimeters up/down left/right difference at 20 - 30 yards).
quality review. liked and subbed.answered all my questions. i too have found the redfires in 17 cal in my crossman shoot the best of the perllets ive tried..i see people online always crapping all over them and praising the polymags so it was interresting to see the redfires win out over them for once..thanks for the review sir.
Thanks for the positive comments and subscribing. I love the Gamo rifles and they love the Red Fire pellets. I have review coming out soon on the Gamo Viper Gen3i in 22 Cal soon.
Man that was a great and thorough review. I've been seriously considering that rifle, and wondering what pellets would work best in it. Your review answered those question, thank you!
@@backyardairguns Well I just discovered your channel and subscribed, I really like what you're doing and I've been into air rifles for a few decades now, so your videos are very interesting and informative. I do have some .22 cal Red Fire pellets, and they are incredibly accurate in my old Daisy 822. I've modified that rifle heavily for more power so it's running right at 700fps but it's tiring to pump all the time. Now I've discovered this Gamo you have there, and I'm going to be ordering one soon!
Thanks. There is really no excuse not to provide a solid manual for air rifles. Gamo is a great brand, but their manuals are useless. This could be easily fixed if they wanted to.
Thanks for watching and I agree with you that the Gamo air rifles are great value and built to last. I have a Gamo Fusion Gen3i I still need to do a review on. I will also take a look at the Gamo DX.
The Viper and Whisper and DX are all the same I think except stock colors ! I have Whisper and DX and Magnums Gen 3s 177 and 22! Love the all ! Whisper and DX are very powerful and easy to break 👊🏻
@@backyardairguns I brought mine back to Bass pro, I believe someone bought it and returned it, it was extremely loud and at 10 yards I couldn’t raise the cross hairs enough to hit the bullseye
Your comment on the manual can not be over emphasized. The section on loading the magazine is truly awful. I do wish your video had shown loading the magazine.
Thanks for the comments. I'm looking to do another video on the Gamo Fusion Gen 3i in 22 Cal very soon. I will do a demo of loading the mags on that one. Thanks
I have lots of Gamo Gen3i mags and they cycle well in the rifles. The issue I have is I have to push most pellets into each slot. It slows down loading the mads a lot. What issues are you having with the mags?
Bet your shooting crosman short pellets. I use the gen2 magnum that is inertia fed like the gen3i. Thumbnail will not seat them properly. I have to use a push tool to get to the pellet centered in the magazine for flawless feed. Not far enough in and they fall out. Too far in and they jam or are mangled on closing.
Thanks Jeff! Stay tuned... I have a new set of Penetration Test coming out within in the week that rock. 🙂

I 'm new to pellet guns. did you clean barrel after 15-20 break in ?
@@jumperstartful No. The only time I ever cleaned the barrel was when I first got it out of the box.
I've never heard of that; but I will test it out and see.

VERY, very good review. No doubt, you are very experienced shooter and connoisseur when it comes to airguns (at least). Big thanx!
Thanks!

would really like to see test in .177
I have a Gamo .177 video coming out soon. Thanks for subscribing.
The mags are like $30 each retail. Not very cheap. But I too feel like I would like to have a couple spares.
I was able to find them today for $15 on Amazon. See the link below...

Are you using the stock scope in this video that comes with this rifle?
Yes - it is the Gamo 3x9x40 scope that comes with the rifle.
What do i need to do to make the trigger a little easier to pull? Is it a screw that is under there that i need to lossin? Thanks!
Hi David, I believe on the Gamo rifles you need to screw the trigger screw "In" to make it easier and and require less energy to fire.
@@backyardairguns ok. Ty much bud. Gonna tinker with it 2moro
I like it
I was surprised how loud it is.
It didn't sound loud to me. I can shoot this rifle all day long in the backyard and no one would notice.
