Unbelievable episode! It wasn’t raining, snowing or blowing a gale. No tackle losses. A shed load of the target species and most unbelievable of all this top angler has only ever caught 3 dogfish! Obviously never fished on the south coast.
Seriously, another brilliant watch, loving the outtakes.

Hey Nathan , another great video from you. I have no intention of teaching my grandmother to suck eggs ( Whatever that means), but we catch loads of thornbacks here in the rivers and estuaries of Essex. The main thing to get your head around is that the shape of these fish means that when they settle on your bait their wings and tails very often hit the main line giving you a line bite. We tend to leave them for a few minutes and just wind into them. Anyway forgive my interference and keep up the good work, you are always worth watching.

Great video mate. Those missed fish are the exact reason I won't go to the dongle, I can't get my head around taking a hook away from the bottom of the bait. Though I can see the benefits of using when fishing for Smooth Hounds that 90% of the time fall to the pennel hook.
Really enjoy your videos as always.

A great watch. Not many anglers realise the potential with ray fishing. They shoal and can be caught in big numbers if you're in the right spot at the right time. One hundred pound of fish on a tide is a realistic target with two rods. You had a good weight on your fist try so I hope you hit this mark again.

Good to see, Nathan. Success and new species - top stuff! Did you like that rock? Worth a summer visit with sps? Or too well known/ busy? Still think all that tackle will crunch my knee so I’ll only ever be catching rays vicariously with you. Bring on the return of the pollock! Gonna try MOGarea or up near Oban this weds/thurs just for a wee explore; Kip in car overnight if it’s going well. School hols = freedom! Skye again on 13/14th. I’m itching to get out. Had a few hours at StAs last week and it was coalie central but great to be out with the lurebox.
    Take care sunshine; tight lines.

Aye, it was good to get them ticked off. The mark was great and popular for a reason, not really my type of place mainly because of the number of rods. Could be worth a shot with SP's but you might struggle with water clarity. Sounds like a good plan, loads of places to Kip around the MOG with breakfast and a shitter at the carpark. Hope you got amongst them💪👍🎣

The one you lost was prob a smooth hound, small one,, a proper one you'd have know about it. They start turning up about now.. best bait for ums crab but like rays they will have just about anything , worms ,fish baits. And remember to stay close to your rod , they'll have it in.

You might want to think about getting out on a Boat up at Oban, fishing for Common Skate, the best man to contact is Ronnie Campbell and charter his boat the Laura Dawn, you fish in a depth of about 400ft and use whole Mackrell and Squid for bait, I got one at 147 lbs but I believe the record is 238 lbs, it's an eight hour trip and a great day out but you,ll need about six folk. Should be about a five hour drive up for you but it,s an experiance not to be forgotten,
