I have those same containers in white that I use for seeds. I put them back in the case and then put a little label on the narrow part of each individual case that's facing up so that way I can see at a glance what is in there and don't have to pull them out to figure out what's in them or find something.

I have osteoarthritis too. It sucks. Back in August I hurt my right arm. The ER said it was bursitis. Turns out possible rotator cuff injury. Lovey it’s no fun getting older! I turn 65 end of March.

I live in town, came from a little mountain farm(mini donkeys, chickens & Boer goats)here, we just used pallets to make a box out beside the garage, toss all our veggie scraps, leaves, etc in there & just let it compost. We just let it go & have beautiful compost & didn’t spend a cent.

Great video! I really like the containers you have and the colors. Very good idea! I appreciated the information on the seeds and the potting soil. I can relate on seeds not sprouting and or soil not working out either. This year I am planning on getting a kiddie pool and have my husband drill holes in the bottom and sides for drainage and I need to buy some new seeds and potting soil. I enjoyed watching this video because I love to garden and watch things grow. God has given us so much to enjoy! I love to bake too:) I can also relate with health issues and getting older. Listen...author lives in me too...i'm 59 in may...I have it horrible in my hands and feet. I love to garden more than any hobby ever and I hate to ask my kids for help(but they do), I need to quit smoking too. Good luck this year with your garden and all you do. i just love those photo containers for my seeds --use them all the time
Last year I used a 3 tier Greenstalk on wheels planter(first time) & loved it! I had beets on the top tier, herbs, dwarf tomato, spring onions, even a honey butternut squash. I got that on sale in the winter. So this year I ordered a 5 tier in the winter sale, with wheels & a spinner. We don’t have the yard space for enough raised beds (plus parts of our yard is like a pond when it rains) I planted just as much in a Greenstalk that I planted in a new bed we put in the year before & the plants did better. The watering system & good soil is the trick. We’re doing all salad & herbs(esp ones that spread) items in the 3 tier this year on the porch that’s part shade. With the spinner we’ll rotate it.

Good morning! I think we are around the same age. I have the arthritis, bursitis, etc but I still love, love, love my time in the garden. I use standing planters. I can’t squat or bend too much. But the planters and containers keep me in the garden! God is good!

I have 2 of those containers. Only had one, but bought a second one this year. One will hold veggie seeds, one will hold flower seeds. They work great, and we’re so worth getting. I’m so excited to start my seeds. I have large grow lights, so can start soon, and I also have a greenhouse to move them out to when it’s warm enough. So exciting.
I always enjoy watching your RUclips channel, as to your body aches, I started do chair yoga with Sherry Morris on RUclips for 1 hour a day and no longer have body aches, worth a try, it gives you energy and clears your mind. So happy you quit smoking and keep cooking and making me laugh, from Oklahoma!

Mullien is great for the lungs. In the south it’s called rabbit baccer and they dry it and smoke it. It’s a way better ditch weed that you forage more so than trying to germinate it and grow it. If you can get to Countryside greenhouse in Fenville they have a beautiful selection of herbs in the spring.

Great minds think alike. I have 2 of the same organizers and use the clear one for vegetables and colored one for flowers and herbs. I did buy a label maker last year. I saved some flower seeds including milkweeds for my monarch butterflies. Love Patty pan squash and have a hard time finding seeds locally. I do a lot of container gardening. I got 4 gallons of jalapeños from 4 plants grown from seeds last year. Better yield than jalapeño plants.
I have the same hand, knee, back osteoarthritis. And refuse to sit still. Keep gardening. You eat better food home grown.
Not every seed is merchandized equally, or with equal quality. When I was gardening, even before here, my favorite Tomato was the Abe Lincoln (heirloom). Then I couldn't find them anymore.

I’m sitting here with my seed box(already have been sorting through & preparing a list to order) My Survivor Seeds did really well last year, esp my green beans & I planted 24 of them. I’m sorry yours didn’t do well. I planted their giant marigolds, they were enormous, lettuce assortment & a few more. They all did great.
A few years ago I was on Celebrex. Dr had to stop it cuz it started causing kidney issues. Take care & God Bless you & your family!!😊

Renea, I dont want to sound negative. celebrex works great. No one told me youre not supposed to take it everyday for years....eight years for me. Out of the blue one week I started getting very short of breath moving or sitting. I never had any problems with my breathing, never smoked. Many tests later and they had no idea what was wrong. Finally my Dr told me to stop the celebrex for a few days because another patient had developed breathing problems and she had been taking it a long time. I stopped taking it and 48 hours later, I could take a deep breath and do things without having to sit down after 5 minutes. It was a relief on one hand but now what can I take. I ended up on celebrex because the anti- inflammatories either didnt work or killed your stomach. Vioxx and celebrex are two of the same. Vioxx was pulled from shelves a few years ago due to many people having heart attacks. Im now taking Meloxican once a week just enough to keep things calmed a bit. Sorry for such a long post. Just be careful.
I just love your personality, you always brighten up my day! I too have bursitis in my hips and shoulders, I have some type of arthritis at the base of both thumbs. Getting old is definitely not for sissys! Lol
I don’t sleep well at all, so I take diphenhydramine. It’s much like the Tylenol p.m. you take however, it doesn’t have the acetaminophen in it. It’s an antihistamine and sedative, mainly used to treat, allergies, insomnia, and symptoms of the common cold. I used to take Tylenol p.m., but always woke up feeling groggy like I had a medicine head or some thing. Using the diphenhydramine you wake up, feeling very refreshed. Renee I can’t wait for spring to see how your garden comes along.

I'm newer here and to the instapot. I got the Carey Electric canner for Christmas. Since I'm older I can do smaller batches but am loving also using it as a instapot. I love your recipes. I buy my onion starts from dixiondale farm. Longday onions is our type of onions (here in MI) I've grown the walla walla sweet onions for 3 years. They are a great sweet onion.

I keep posting bc I feel like I’m across from ya chatting 😂I ONLY use Miracle Grow moisture control. It’s worth the money!! That’s why my Greenstalk did so well. We’ve built all our raised gardens out of wood or posts we had in the garage. We make our compost from scratch. We use rain barrels for water. Seeds aren’t expensive. Plants from the Amish are cheap. I will not skimp on soil. I bought a ton of seed starter last year on sale. Will last me 3 years

Renea I have severe arthritis in my hands & throughout my body(mod-severe) bc of thyroid disease. I’m 55 y/o. We planted potatoes in STRAW first time last year. You don’t even need a garden plot. We put down a thick layer of compost, bone meal & triple 10, covered the seed potatoes with a heavy layer of straw. Once the plants started growing, we covered them with another thick layer of straw(that only cost us $4 a bale) We had a beautiful harvest of CLEAN easy to harvest potatoes!! We’re doubling it this year. We learned a few things. Make sure they’re covered very well(we made a little space around the plants to allow them to grow. Bad move, sun turned some green.
I need to give that a try. I also have Thyroid disease and I am 57.
@@LittleVillageHomestead It’s called the Ruth Stout potato growing method. I watched a lot of channels who did it. Learned a little from each one. Some ppl used wire fencing, built cylinders & planted seed potatoes vertically in those(didn’t do as well). We laid ours seed potatoes on the compost/bone meal on the dirt. Nope not again. Going all straw as Ruth did. They come out so clean, they look store bought. The trick is a thick layer of good compost, triple 10 & bone meal & a thick enough straw cover to keep the sun off. We had a dry summer, our potatoes kept at a beautiful moisture. I’ll be watching & cheering u on!

I’ve been using that photo organizer for several years. It’s the best system I’ve ever found for seed organization.
I LOVE your chit chats as much as I love your hauls and every other video :) I have MS, aches and pains and sleepless nights are just part of the fun :/ I have recently been enjoying foot soaks with magnesium flakes. I havent slept as good as i have in years since starting these soaks. I wake up so refreshed and feeling great! I have tried the Motrin pm but these foot soaks are so much better for the body and we all could use more magnesium

I remember brown bunch beans, can’t find them anymore. My grandmother grew them and I used to, but didn’t save any seeds. Kicking myself for not saving them. My momma’s favorite green bean and I can’t get seeds anymore.
I have two of the seed organizers like that, got them last year and they are great.
I’m going to check the seed company out to see if I need more.

Oh, that is funny! I am from the Netherlands and Lambs Ear is a kind of lettuce here, not a flower at all... I am so looking forward to starting my garden, but our last frost date is around half to the end of may. I am starting my winter sowing in the jugs though. Rheumatoid arthritis effects your joint and osteoarthritis effects the coating between the bones. It is hard when you struggle with either one. Most people sooner or later do end up with this disease. Hopefully you will feel better and medication I’ll hop.love the chit chats

I have fibromyalgia, narrowing spine, bone spurs and scoliosis. I take Lyrica, mobic. , plus a sleeping pill. I now I take a pill to lower my cholesterol. Plus a temporary med for infection in my feet.
You’re not whining. It’s getting older. We’re wearing out.
So if you gained weight. I gained a little weight on Lyrica not a tun but a few pounds. I gained a some weight when I stopped smoking 5/6 years back.
You are looking fine. Do what you can and flip the nasty haters. Nice terms.

I saved seeds from volunteer sugar pie pumpkins I could send. They were the only squash family I grew. I have a small garden, so I cannot grow everything I’d like to. A couple years ago, a friend dropped off a tin can of Egyptian walking onions, and…they took!😉 My mom always grew them, wish I had one of hers for the genetics. I agree with you about BURBEE CO, I purchased over 100.00 in starter fruit trees , they were like stems with roots , and none of them grew . I complained about it and they never did anything , didn't even communicate with me . I will never buy from them again .

I got so excited about the scarlett runner beans i forgot to put anything else! I had my photo/seed boxes out before i even saw this video. Definitely getting the itch. I was planning on starting cukes and squash from seed and when inwas looking at the packages it said direct sow. Do you start your cukes and summer squash from seed early or direct sow when you plant the garden? I may try some of both.
I start all my seeds in my greenhouse.

I know how u feel. I was a registered nurse for close to 30 years before I got injuries at work. Had 2 herniated cervical disc then had more back issues after being on light duty for a year. Now on disability and yes I get a whole lot more than most people on SS or disability but only half what I use to bring home working nights. Prayers to u. ❤🙏
