Renea, you good person helping neighbors, friends you are an Angel to everyone. This shepherd pie looks awesome and delicious. You have patience to have them with you, work with them, and enjoy the fellowship.Bless you and Tracy
I have watched quit a few of your videos and I am always totally amazed how much you get done in that beautiful kitchen of yours! I love your kitchen! Thanks to you both for your laughs and your beautiful recipes which i am going to definitely going to try! Happy camping!
Hi Renea & Tracy, I made salmon patties on Monday. I added few bread crumbs along with herb dressing crumbs mix plus a little bit of corn starch. I didn't even measure out the lemon juice, I just poured some in. I fried them in some butter plus olive oil. The patties came out delicious and my granddaughter even had one and made a heart with her hands.
We have been to Drummon island years ago for snowmobiling it is a great island! We stayed in the old stone house which the locals knew where that was at! It was a great house!
Love salmon patties! My late husband used to make them for me. When I make them I sometimes add leftover mashed potatoes as a part of the binder. Adds a nice flavor to them. Enjoyed the video!
We're the Trolls and they are the Yoopers! Renea, we never took the bones out of our salmon. They are so soft, easy to chew & are rich in calcium. Actually my sister & I always made a game out of picking out the bones and whoever had the most "won". I always felt like Daddy & I really won because my sister didn't like to eat the bones so he & I split them! I love having any leftover gravy, there is no limit to the things you can use it for. I have a homemade pot pie recipe I always make using whatever leftover meats & veggies for and if I don't have gravy it's easy to make. I use a deep dish 10' pie plate and the only thing I have ever made by the recipe is the crust-a delicious whole wheat crust. It's basically just a stew with a crust anyways.
Hi Renea!!! I see you got a new counter space to work on. Looks nice. More room for you. I missed when you got it.Tracy looks cute with her new hair doo!!!... The Shepherd s pie looks tasty as do the Salmon patties.Have fun camping Tracy...Great Video!!!...🦋
My older sisters said they would fight over the bones when mom opened a can of salmon🤢 I’ve tried using it and just couldn’t. We love fresh salmon and canned tuna. Shepherds pie looks yummy! Tracy is such a sweetheart and a big help. ❤
Hi Renea. Loved the foods you fixed today. I too use oatmeal but I use everything in the can for my patties. Oh I also want my potatoes peeled for my mashed. Thumbs up. Grandma Sue in central Indiana
Hello, hey Tracy i am with you, i sometimes do not peel my potatoes for shepherd's pie or mashed either. Especially the red potatoes. I also steam my potatoes so the nutrients from the skins stay in the potatoes! I watched a Canadian chef, I am Canadian do that i have always done them that way since. Thanks for sharing the tip of not peeling them.
Hi Renea. You're shepherds pie looks delicious. I have never made it with just beef broth. I am going to try it. It's so much cheaper to make it that way. You have a great day. Love watching you cook. 😊
I really enjoyed hanging out with you ladies and Tracy looks great with her hair style. Never thought of adding oats. The Pattie’s look delicious! 😊👩🍳👍
I always have a stockpile of evaporated milk in my pantry to cook with. It makes my casseroles creamy & saves the fresh milk for my son who’s a cereal lover.
Love love love love salmon patties!!! But i cant wait to try this version and you made me the happiest camper by letting us know we can freeze them for agead of time 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Tracy and Renee.. Love salmon patties.. great idea using the oatmeal.. I have used lots of different fish.. salmon, tuna, pike, steelhead when making this recipe.. also like minced onion and celery added in.. Shepard pie is another favorite.. Great video ⚘️ thanks
You’re right about the difference between cottage pit and shepherds pie . Some people think that they are the same and their are not. I’m like her with green peppers but I still can’t eat then even in a casserole. I can still taste the green peppers. Their flavor overpowers the other flavors.
Thank you for the salmon patty recipe , I will get some cans of salmon and make a few batches of Patty’s to freeze .. usually buy them at Costco but home made is better 🍁💛🍁
I’m right there with you on the Shepard’s/Cottage Pie. I don’t like lamb for the most part but call it all Shepherd’s Pie. And I don’t remember the last time I peeled a potato for mashing. The peel is the best part😊. I always love your vids. They inspire me. Have a wonderful week!
Hey, Renae 💚💗. I always use evaporated milk and water in my creamy gravy. Just like my mom and grandma ❤😂. I just had salmon patties at my cousin’s house 3 weeks ago. She removes the skin and bones, too. I only remove the skin cause I love the bones and I like green onions in mine. You have put me in the mood to make some, and I just prepped some green onions ❤😂. Thank you so much 😊
Enjoyed this video, it was like I was there having coffee watching you two. Tracy looks terrific with her new hair style. I am happy for you that you have nice friends. 😊
Renea, the bones are a wonderful source of calcium and once the Pattie’s are made ,there’s not a lot of color that shows the skin!!!! But you do what you think is best .🥰 I put a little flour and corn meal before I get it mixed up and they fry up sooo good and the cornmeal gives it a nice crispy crunch on the outside. ( I live in Georgia and I guess there’s different ways of making everything !😁)
I raised my family on fish Patty's using canned fish it was cheaper and my family loved them I had 3 boys and 1girl. They are grown and have grandchildren of their own ALOHA from the big island 🏝 of Hawaii
We don’t like salmon, but I make tuna & chicken Patties. I use cornbread stuffing mix as a filler & cheese. My husband doesn’t like breadcrumbs or cracker fillers. He won’t eat meatloaf, even made with stuffing. He’s picky, my son is much worse! I love to cook & they hardly eat anything😂
@@sandyewald2933 yep texture is the issue. My son is much WORSE! He’ll eat ketchup, but not sauce. He loves fries, hates mashed potatoes. It’s not just food either. He’s always worn soft clothing, like UA athletic shirt material (he’s 19 been like this since 3)& has to have soft sheets & blankets. I have my hands full in this house. 🤣He leaves for college in August. Reality is about to strike. Day’s of mom’s perfectly curtailed meals-over.

How about just mashing up the bones with a fork and adding them to the mix? No one would know. Extra nutrition.

Bones in canned salmon are edible. Good calcium source.
Where did you get your reusable pans Renea?😊 I love your Island.

How do you make your salmon loaf?
