I know this is an older video but I had to laugh because Papa is so busy with those little ones. We know exactly how it is as it’s the same here with our grandkids. We just love them. Thanks for sharing your home with us. Love watching all your videos ❤️❤️
That's what it's all about! Warm, fed, and safe! My motto for my family for the last - almost 3 years! My 1st freeze dryer is being delivered on Tuesday! I am so excited!
Your house sounds like my house. I have 7 kids ages 15- to 2 years old. What a blessing to have family home during Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and your family. An extra thank you and prayer for your daughter.
To take your hash brown casserole over the top, substitute an equal amount of French Onion Dip for the sour cream. It adds so much flavor and is delicious. I discovered this when my sour cream fell out of the bag and accidently got left in the trunk of my car overnight. We were having guests for dinner and I did not discover it until I was fixing dinner and I did not have time to go back to the store for more. I had a container of French onion dip in the fridge so I used it instead. It was so delicious that I always make mine like that now. I am in KY. Thursday/Friday we had Temps at 5 below zero with wind chills at -40 degrees. We got an inch of ice, topped by 4 inches of snow. Our roads are a horrible mess. Last night all 3 of our major interstates were shut down..I65, I64 and I71 has areas that were impassible. We are suppose to go to Moms tonight for Christmas Eve but if we can go will depend on if the roads are any better today. The crazy part is by Thursday of next week it is suppose to be 62 degrees.
I'm southeast of you in Michigan and our winds are really whipping tonight! I'm glad you're staying safe inside with your grandkids. I can't see mine this year because of this weather and not being able to travel downstate. Have a very Merry Christmas!!
Hey friend! I got my sister (she’s a shut-in) turned onto your channel and we’re both totally enjoying visiting with you. I know we’re way behind on all of your videos, but we’re catching up quick! Could you show us some of your freeze-dried goodies? I’d be interested in this way of saving foods! Your grand babies are the sweetest… and they are so at home with you and Papa… beautiful family!! Hugs from Ohio!
Good evening! Your grands are so cute! So nice that they could stay with you today. You're going to have more help in the kitchen than you know what to do with pretty soon! I have been wondering how you fared through the storm, so I'm really glad to see you post a new video tonight. Our power flashed off momentarily last night, but it has stayed on since, thankfully. It is very windy here in Midland, same as you. It seems like the wind is dying down some now, but boy, is it COLD!!! I am getting a lot of new ideas from watching your cooking videos, so thank you for sharing your recipes. I wish I had a little more space for my pantry, particularly with the increasing price of everything. But I guess I must be okay with the space I've got, because I went to Meijer a few days ago and already had most of what I needed, lol. Good thing - it was crazy busy! Be safe & warm! Merry Christmas!
Just watching this video now and I want you to know how much I love your sweet babies! I hope you all had a great Christmas and that your daughter got home safely from her job at the P.O. They are growing so fast! Here n MA right now it’s June and our weather has s wonderful, Father’s Day this weekend, my husband really looking forward to seeing his family who all live in NH. Hope your hubby has a nice Fathers Day. God Bless you and your entire family ❤
Hi Renea!!! I enjoyed this video. Nice that the kids were at your house.Breakfast looked Oh...so...good!!! The carrots are going to be nice to have. I'm going to have to try that chicken, looked delish. Thanks for another great video... Such adorable Grandchildren. Merry Christmas to all...Nice video!!!...
Thank You Renea . Your hash brown breakfast casserole . And the baked chicken. Looks so delicious . Going to try both recipes . All of us will be eating left over . Christmas food . Your grandbabies are growing up so fast . All of them are very sweet and precious . Merry Christmas . Renea, Mr. Wade And family .🎄🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
How sweet your grand babies are. A true blessing and heartwarming to watch. Also, what amazing recipes and tips! I can't wait to make the chicken bake dinner! Thank you so very much! Merry Christmas to all!!
I just discovered your videos today, and what a lovely first video to see of you cooking for your gran kids. They're absolutely beautiful and the youngest white hair is gorgeous. Seeing you altogether in a snow storm was lovely to see especially how they came to say hello friends. You could feel how much you love them through the screen with room to spare! Everything you made looked lovely and you made it look easy. It was especially interesting to watch you freeze dry the carrots. And everything you have in your pantry is something to be so proud of. So tonight I'm going to be watching all your videos to see if you explain more about your pantry and dry freeing. You have a new subscriber.
That's what Christmas Joy sounds like! A house full of children! In Ohio we didn't get but maybe 3" of snow but actual temp was -5° and wind chill was -35°. Haven't seen temps like this since the 80's! I'm having the same issues with my 2 humidifiers. They are bottom fill and I have such a difficult time of them if they get to low! They are only a year old so I can't go to the expense of getting 2 more top fills! With Scott's laryngetomy (he breathes through a hole in his neck) we must have a humidifier going most of the year!
I had the absolute best time watching this video. Having your grands in the kitchen and home is exhausting, fulfilling, and such a blessing. We used to keep our grands everyday while their parents went to work. We served breakfast, lunch, and dinner for two years. I am thankful that they are in their own home but I do miss them being underfoot. Thank you for sharing this blessing.❤❤
I enjoy your videos so much. The family time is so awesome. They will cherish forever the time they spend with you two. 😊 Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Look at the sweet grandbabies visiting. Pop pop is enjoying playing with them. Breakfast is yummy Renea. What a blessing all the carrots. I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas and a blessed day!
I have those exact same containers from Amazon for my flours and sugars. I love them. I’m going to check out the silicone bags. Thanks for the tip! I wish Feeding America came over by me!
In the Netherlands we have hutspot. That is a nice and simple winter dish with carrots, onions and potatos als mashed together. With cold weather is just extra nice 😁
I would love to have someone like you in my family. You are sooo positive and nice. Even in a blizzard. You are a blessing and I hope your family knows how lucky they are. God bless you and thank you for easy to make recipes.
The same mayo mixture is good with pork chops too. It is fine to add powdered Parmesan cheese along with other fresh cheese. Since the first time I made it, I’ve sometimes used other spices too depending on how I’m feeling that day. I also usually add S,P, and garlic/onion powder to the meat before I top it with the mixture.
This was DEVOURED by my family this morning lol, as were the biscuits & pears so I even pulled some turnovers from the freezer. Our skinny little grandchildren eat like adults, the same as our children did when they were little! Next time I will definitely double the recipe
Renea.. I loved seeing the grands.. they're all getting so big! Gus gus, ♥️♥️ I am suprised at how big that dehydrator is.. wow.. 😳 thanks for the view outside too.. I can't complain about the temps here in Mississippi EVER! Lol. Great video!♥️.. "hello friends" tshirts or aprons would be great merch..hint hint..😁
I just enjoy your videos so much. I really feel like we could be such good friends. You have such a sweet and loving heart. Your grandbabies are so sweet. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
My 2 year old granddaughter was watching this with me and every time Gus would get on the screen she would jump up on her table and wave, say hi and giggle. It was too cute. Stay safe with all the weather. We are in southern Wisconsin so we had all that and now it's negative temperatures.
We got maybe 2 inches here in north of Flint area. Its the blowing that's causing the problems. Had my grandsons with me. We did the pop tart houses. They had a blast.
Those greppy liners they use for shells for your dishes, that will not allow movement, cut it in a couple squares and use one of them with one hand and one with the other you'd be surprised how easy it is to open a jar, and a good old-fashioned can/ bottle opener will help as well
Had that yesterday. White out several times. It's 9 out don't know the windchill. Nana n papa's house is busy but so much love there. Wish had access to donated food. Beautiful looking carrots.
My husband uses the dehydrated shredded potatoes also for his casserole too and it was delicious! I remember the early blizzard in early 70s in Grawn. Merry Christmas

And my husband, son and I still had 7 hours to our home in west Texas! 😵💫😵💫 So I will NEVER forget the blizzard of 1993 in Tennessee.
Love those babies! I hope to have a house like that one day. Little feet and big voices 💜 Hopefully your daughter made it back safe. I was just telling my daughter about the mailman’s creed today, because UPS and FedEx were called back. And I don’t blame them one bit, I spent most the day watching the house across the road disappear then reappear. Thank you for sharing a non egg based breakfast. I’m allergic, and it really stinks, because it feels like all that’s left is meat and pastries (so far, I can still tolerate those). I want something filling. So jealous of that biscuit pan, I love cast iron. What a wonderful blessing from your mom. She definitely seemed to have quite the assortment of kitchen items. After my dad passed this year, most of what I asked for was kitchen items. My big goal for this year will be my freeze dryer (Yes, “my.” Positive thinking, which is usually a struggle for me). Where I work, we do a similar recipe for the chicken, but we also add crunched up corn flakes on top. It’s extremely popular.
I always added vinegar to milk to make buttermilk until I picked up buttermilk powder at the Amish store. Very handy & long term shelf stable. I know you stock up by buying in bulk from an Amish store too, might want to see if they have it & see what you think about it.
I hate waste too & they’re beautiful carrots. I think your pantry is beautiful! My family makes fun of me for buying in bulk, storing water, canning/dehydrating etc, but like you, we didn’t rush to the store bc of the storm. We always have enough to share too. Also, a fun treat to make for kids is sprinkling dry jello over the pears. My son loved it.
My house is quiet and cold. I just discovered the water lines are frozen. Its 7 degrees here and the windows have ice on the inside of them. It won't be above freezing til Sunday. I hope they thaw out then with no burst pipes. Have a Merry Christmas Renae.
That must be nice to see we live in a montual or home which is a trailer and we don't have a basement nor a very big foolupetri so it would be nice to have something like what you have
You always hit a homerun, Renae with your videos. Like my childhood friends' mom always said of me, 'your a keeper.' That's what America has to be, people believing in each other! You are America's Home Economics teacher!
That is awesome and thank you, you always call me the Econ teacher. It is too bad they took it out of schools. I homeschooled my kids and they learned all the things kitchen and cleaning. I called it Domestic science. Perfect...How did you do thru the storm?
I see carrot cake and muffins coming in your future. I sent my husband to the store to buy me 20lbs of carrots to put up. I don’t think I will ever have to many. I have 2 full rows in my garden right now that I hope are going to survive this weather.
Renee them babies I just love the little girl when she come in there and said she worked and then she went hot friend that is so cute I'm telling you that just made my night while you was sitting there making all that good food I was eating me a bowl of macaronis and a bowl of potato salad I fixed it for tomorrow and watching you do the carrots I would so love to have a freeze dryer Lord I'd freeze dry everything I sure would but anyway sweetie love watching you cook take care of them grandbabies and your husband is just something else while you're in there doing all of that he's taking care of them babies for you and helping you you couldn't ask for nothing no better love you take care see you in your next video and God bless you sweetie
Your grands were so cute saying, “Hello, friends “ to the camera, but when your husband wandered by later and gave us a “Hello, friends” of his own, I just cracked up laughing. I think between the blizzard and the grands, he deserves a nap!
You know what is sad the food bank told me that so much of the fresh food goes to waste because people don't know how to preserve food I don't have a freeze dryer but I have a dehydrator I can and can freeze I refuse to let any food go to waste it's crazy. Is your grandson Augustus? Mine is his dad calls him Gus I call him AJ, nice to have the house full of sound keeps a house alive weird I know but it needs life too. Love all you do your amazing.
@@LittleVillageHomestead that is funny you know my sons name is Christopher I call him bug always have people say cause he was cute as a bug I am like no he took swim classes the teachers always borrowed him cause he loved going under water, so he was like a water bug. He is 31 and I still call him bug. My other son nickname is Rooney lol
I like to see how Mr. Wayna hangs out with the little man! Precious. Or all them as I watch! ha I'm making it with Wood stove, the off peak brick heaters keep living room at 44 F, especially one in My Mom's created room 65F. When I'm at work, house get's cold. Wood=warm wood stop=cold. ha heating large building. Merry Christmas to all! Thinking about Spring to push button on freeze drier through you link. Dad wanted it, Plus I'm 'gung ho' on it! So what, it's my money!
I want a wood cook stove. Like the one's the Amish have. I love my freeze dryer, the best money I have spent yet...Merry Christmas to you too. Keep warm and stay safe..

Looks so good babies are adorable. Tell PAPA NOT TO SMOKE WITH THE KIDS IN THE SAME ROOM. Not preaching but PAPA really.
Not your business
I was thinking the same thing, smoking in the house especially with children is a very bad idea , can’t mind my own business on this one.
That my dear was very enjoyable. Loved seeing the babies, your husband, watching you cook. My mom is in ICU and this let me calm for a few. Tfs
Praying for your mom.

Your grands were so cute saying, “Hello, friends “ to the camera, but when your husband wandered by later and gave us a “Hello, friends” of his own, I just cracked up laughing. I think between the blizzard and the grands, he deserves a nap!
Try snow ice cream it is wonderful. If the kids fight get Pop to get a book and quietly read to them it works pretty well.
Love your videos you have so many great ideas
I am in London Ontario and it is crazy weather here. The wind is not good. 💞
love this!
You are going to laugh. My grandson's name is Harlin and we call his Gus Gus. He is my Gusy boy. Lol
@@LittleVillageHomestead that is funny you know my sons name is Christopher I call him bug always have people say cause he was cute as a bug I am like no he took swim classes the teachers always borrowed him cause he loved going under water, so he was like a water bug.
