Extending line 4 is something worth considering. It is currently just 5 stations long which is pretty short. Would be great if line 4 extended its coverage the same way as line 2.

@@RMTransitisn't the short distance the primary reason for fewer riders? The stations that it runs through are otherwise dense enough in terms of population.

@@RMTransit The line as it currently is used by commuters is largely for the purpose of connecting to line 1. I hope it changes.

@@Hafiz100ify Is there anyone at Bessarion? I have never met a single person who actually USES that station lol. Other than Don Mills as a Bus Terminal, none of the stations(other than Sheppard) will ever have high ridership. North York outside of Youge St is just too car oriented. If you do a google search of Bayview, Bessarion and Leslie, you get "parking" as an auto-fill. Thats the issue right there.

@@nate8892 Me. At first it sounded very much like a place straight from Game of Thrones to me! Incidentally there's this big condo coming behind the station that's called King's Landing. :)

I'm a little intrigued by your base map, which in addition to all rail lines and sidings, oddly seems to include the long-abandoned zoo monorail, and even individual roller coasters at Wonderland. I guess they are technically trains...

I don't know exactly what software you use to create your visuals, so this may bee too difficult to implement, but I would like to suggest having different line styles for your Viva Rapidways instead of slightly different colours and widths. For example, Solid Line for dedicated rapidway and Dashed Line for mixed traffic.

I just noticed that the roller coasters at Canada's Wonderland how up as railways on the OSM transit map lol

I think that it would be a good idea to create a "The Future of Rapid Transit in Waterloo Region" Video featuring GRT/Ixpress/ION?Kitchener line considering that Waterloo Region is the 10th largest Metro Region in Canada

according to wikipedia the entire highway 7 corridor (in which case VIVA Orange and VIVA Purple) could be upgraded to Light rail transit [which I would favour by merging the 2 line colors into 1 single line color VIVA 赤 Red] to reduce the ongoing carbon monoxide output

That was actually the initial plan back in 2011, the BRT system came to fruition when the government decided to save money instead.

There needs to be a subway on Major Mackenzie from Canada’s wonderland to downtown Markham. There should also be an LRT to replace the Yonge BRT system. Either that or a true extension of Line 1 to bernard terminal.

For GO Trains, a New Station is set to open at Bloomington just north of Gormley some time in 2020 I believe. There was a bit of chatter in the construction area, of GO expanding further north into Mount Albert, Pefferlaw, Beaverton, Bechin, and stopping in Washago ON with a terminus there as the Newmarket Sub can join in as well for the central hauls. Plus there has still been chatter of e Peterborough Line cutting up the Kawartha Lakes Railway at some point. I know they did a test on that line a few years ago, and nothing much has been said as that line was the old CPR to Montreal and is declassed down to a 20 KPH due to age. So laying down of New Line would need to be done. That would start somewhere off the Markham/Stouffville as far as I know. The other line to Washago would running on the Bala Sub already well used in VIA Canadian and CNR Freight Service. Very little would need to be on except build stations, Parking Lots and Maintenance Facilities.

How much signal priority does Viva have?
Without it, it's hard to consider it rapid transit. Also, the station spacing seems way too small on many sections. More like a streetcar with buses.

    • @carlinthomas9482
      @carlinthomas9482 Год назад +2

I would not consider it rapid transit at this point since there is no signal priority.

not to mention it gushes CO2 and requires seasonal tire change (and none of the vehicles were ever seen with visible spare tires)

Agreed, I take Viva Purple, and it typically only runs every 25 minutes on weekends and there is no signal priority. The Viva Purple A section that runs along Enterprise only has 45 minute frequency on weekends.

Do you plan some of your videos way in advance (like your focus or future of videos)? If you do I think it would be really great to have those “This month on the channel” promo videos, you know like what Netflix does. Could be a pretty basic visual montage over a nice lofi track, with no narration nor specific date. Relatively low effort way to get people engaged and excited about the content.
