    Hi guys, I'm so envious I'm back here in UK wishing I still lived in SA. I lived in Joberg for a few years but never got to some of the places you show in your vids. I watch you cooking a braai and I'm salivating. I've been teaching my brit neighbours how its done and now they keep asking me when are we having another braai? I'm a young 76 now and would love to have one more visit to SA before my clogs have to be popped. To sit round a fire with you guys would be awsome!!! Cheers

    Edward, mate, thanks ever so much for the video. Most enjoyable and informative. I'm locked down, feeling grumpy, needing a distraction. Suddenly, your new vid pops up. I spent a very pleasant 10 minutes watching, then another 30 minutes day-dreaming about overlanding in Africa. One day, one day, one day, I'll be able to do it... Cheers, mate, you and Christoff are making a great contribution to keeping us sane during this China virus lockdown! God bless, Dave.

    Awesome episode. Thanks for taking us around the BEAST. It is impressive on screen, but better in person, and fantastic to drive. Zambia on my own, next week.

    Shot for the walk around. Will def try my iPad on the next trip👍 Found the GPS was fine for navigation, but is too small for route planning when on the road. Enjoy fitting the geyser.

    Very informative Edward Thank you, kindly advise what was the fuel consumption on the land Cruise v8 with the Trailer plus all the gear for this overlanding trip.

    • @EdwardBath
      @EdwardBath  4 года назад

      Thank you Desmond! The fuel consumption varies from 15L/100kms on the open road to 20L/100kms in the thick sand. Overall average on the trip was 18L/100kms loaded and towing. Thanks for watching!

    • @desmondradzilani6341

      @@EdwardBath Wow that is good with all that gear Thanks keep up the good work

    • @EdwardBath
      @EdwardBath  4 года назад +1

      Desmond Radzilani we generally drive conservatively because of the fuel consumption, on the highway we stay at around 110 km/h, at this speed the landcruiser does 13L/100kms, as soon as you get to 120km/h it starts to use 18L/100kms so it makes a big difference 😂🙌 thanks Desmond!

    One gets a lot of conflicting reviews on T4A Navigator which I presume you are using on your iPad. Would appreciate a more detailed view on how you find the app. Would you go as far to not even work with the GPS version?

    • @EdwardBath
      @EdwardBath  4 года назад +1

      lirritma hey, thank you for the response! I have been using the T4A on the Garmin GPS for years and I’m very unimpressed with it, along with many fellow overlanders. I’m not sure what the reason is but it depicts roads where there are none and sends us round in circles often, since moving to the app which is cheaper than the software for Garmin I wouldn’t even consider using the Garmin but go straight for the app on the iPad or phone. Keep well!
