Alcaraz’s backhand has powered up. Perhaps his forearm injury has forced him to 2x his backhand training which has clearly been good for his game. Didn’t think he could so visibly improve an area of his game like this.

Happy for Alcaraz to see he seems to be building up nicely for RG. Hopefully he gets other convincing wins in the week against top 20/10/5 oppositions (especially Zverev and of course Sinner).
For Seyboth Wild, very encouraging week by reaching 3rd Round with win over Musetti and even today, he didn’t give up 0/5 down on the 2nd set (and to be honest, not sure how many other players outside the top 5 today would have scored much more than 6 games against Alcaraz playing like today and in his home turf. So, nothing to be ashamed about losing 3 and 3 to the 3rd best player in the world).
