I wanted to see Morgan helping Rick build the bridge. Those few episodes would've been good bonding moments for the two characters. Then seeing Morgan's reaction to Rick's death/disappearance. Maybe Morgan witnesses Rick being loaded into a chopper, and leaves to go find him. That would've been a good exit point from the main show.
Morgan could’ve had his own spin off alone if he wanted he was such a good character they could start from when he stayed behind at the junk yard after he said he was gonna stay for a while and show what happened. That’d be awesome
I couldn't stand the "all life is precious and have some oatmeal burgers" phase. In all honesty I usually didn't like Morgan no matter what he was doing as he was always meddling in other people's business and doing illogical stuff. "Hey guys lets go hand out boxes!" -Morgan Jones
the thing about that phase that agravated me was how it was all for nothing after a few more episodes, his decision to save the wolfs life saved carls life and that was great story telling, then he just went back to his kill phase
Akido isn't an effective fighting style and he barely even learned it, not even 5% and now he is a full on Messiah Complex with the biggest plot-armor.
Another great video. Always speak from the heart. Morgan is a great character and Clear is one of my favourite episodes. I still believe originally Morgan was going to have Carls death but they changed it. I am glad that Morgan survived because he is a great character and I hope he reunites with Rick.
Thank you very much! I truly appreciate it! Yes Clear is awesome. I think there’s a possibility that it was supposed to be Morgan. I’m glad he’s alive but I really thought that would be a good story
Literally no one questioning it is so annoying I'm so glad ive found someone that can relate. As well it's discomforting that he seemed to leave without any impact. It's like he just told everyone "I'm not right" clearly having issues and being misunderstood but leaves without any of that being wrapped up...
twd fired chandler riggs bc he was about to turn 18 and they didn’t wanna have to negotiate more pay for him. and no one will ever change my mind on that.
When people talk about why they love Morgan I feel like they're talking about what they wanted him to be and what he was supposed to be, not what he actually was. There was so much potential with his character but it was squandered by bad writing
I completely agree. People of course can have their opinions but his flip-flopping was written horribly and seemed incredibly illogical within the story at the time. I too think Morgan had potential, with the ideology changes and all; but again bad writing ruined it
We know what happened to Maggie they told us and Maggie left to go help out another community so it was going to be a little while for her to come back
Honestly, I prefer the Morgan from the comics, for one reason: He is what Rick would’ve become if he failed to protect Carl. We never got something like that from the TV show.
Morgan's character should've had more of a part in All Out War in capturing Negan instead of sticking him with the Kingdom. Cause I think Morgan in Clear mode could have singlehandedly catch Negan they missed out on too many moments with him. Also I think to an extent he was even more loyal to Rick than Daryl when Daryl turned on him to help maggie.
TBH I didn’t mind his character journey but I just wish they gave his story a proper conclusion. Him leaving was just too random and out of nowhere and he just disappears without a trace. I wish he had more of a relationship with Carl so that would also be a dynamic for his character. It would be full circle to go from Rick meeting with Morgan and Duane to Morgan meeting up with Rick and Carl. Him take a liking to Carl and see resemblance in Duane would of been great. I think he should have came back at the final season just for closure but not be as emotionally unstable as we saw of him previously. When he returns he’s more balanced between Clear and compassion, instead of flip flopping he returns with a clearer head and he knows which situation requires certain characteristics. In some ways he becomes more like Rick but more diplomatic and friendly, while also having the willingness to get dangerous if the situation calls for it. He knows when to eliminate threats.
Oh I take it Morgan is still alive even after the end of the series? So in the comic books is when he gets his arm chopped off by Michonne and dies from blood loss ?
I just think AMC’s greed for money in cutting the budgets, getting rid of good actors, and having bad writing made things bad. I’m not saying you have to spend a lot of money, but if you want to put out a good product you have to pay for it.
Bro! I’m loving these Walking Dead videos. I love Morgan’s character, but the writers just didn’t know what to do with him passed Season 6. He definitely had wasted potential but I’m glad he’s still in the universe.
He was even more wasted in the comics. The TV show handled him far better. But even though he was one of my fave characters in Walking Dead, I found Fear quite boring. Before and after Morgan joined the cast.
Side note, he is also the reason Rick calls the dead “walkers”. Morgan is a legend, my absolute favorite and Clear is one of the best episodes of the entire series. I hate what they did to his character. I love him nonetheless. ❤
This was actually something I tried to fix in my TWD rewrite. In short, Morgan’s story stays mostly the same with some minor tweaks in S6-7. In S8 his story is about essentially an alcoholic thinking he’s cured, but goes back into alcoholism. Or in Morgan’s case, murder mode. As this becomes a problem when he at Hilltop chooses to go after the prisoners vs killing the walker behind Abraham, causing him to get bit. [yes, in the version Abraham survives the bat] tells Rick later on what he’s done and questions if the teachings of the guy in in S6 was all a lie, maybe there is no help for him. So he ends the season going on his own, living in the woods, isolated from society. In S9 it’s a story of him finding peace within himself and finding balance. After failing to be there when Rick needed him most, he’s secluded even further. But ends up taking the role of caretaker over Carl in S9 as a way to redeem himself, instead of Daryl with Henry. He saves Carl’s life in the apartment complex and saves Daryl after Daryl gets thrown around like a rag doll by Bata. Sadly this is cut short as Alpha mounts his head on a pike. And Morgan’s death is really important as he was the only guy the bested Beta in a fight. As we find out in S10 that Beta told Alpha to kill Morgan as he was a threat.
DAMN!!!!!! This is actually a fantastic idea and one that I would love to see! Especially in regards to Morgan being Carl’s caretaker. WOW I love this idea on paper it sounds so unique and beautiful!
@@jerrystakes he does die tragically though, and he won’t see Rick again, but in a way he resolves his biggest hurdle in helping save Carl in a way he couldn’t help Dwane. That trauma was never really resolved. In a way, I see “all life is precious” as trying to push it away, under the bed if you will. Oh, and I have him keep the long bearded cowboy look from season 6 of FTWD as that was just a cool look.

I see a lot of comments about how Rick should have died and Carl should have lived like in the comics. What's needed for a TV serious and a comic is very different. Love the actor and character Carl but Carl could not carry the show like Rick Grimes played by Andrew Lincoln.
I liked seeing him & Rick fight together on that episode when the Savors escaped from Hilltop. I didn’t like how the show had Rick almost fussing with Morgan upon his arrival to Alexandria, had him in a room by himself, like really
I won't lie, Morgans story in season 6 spoketo me as someone who has lost people and lost myself in the process. But the problem was that the writers never got passed it, there's more to a person than their trauma. Lennie James did the best he could, but I feel the writers didn't know what to do with the character in the end
I really liked the idea of this characters who just doesn't die and he knows it so instead he has to try and deal with the emotional trauma that comes with losing everyone around you. Does he go down the clear route and keep evveryone away from him or does he instead try to spread peace and act as some sort of moral guidance for other characters. When he notices that he is starting to loose himself he has to try his best to get back on the path or leave the group before he goes full on clear. Him and Rick would have also been sort of apocolypse buddies in a way. Neither of them dies so they keep meeting up at different points in their journey and can see how the other person changed. They were together at the start of the journey and have both adapted to the new world in very different ways.

Glad you made this video. I’ve always had a problem with the show writing off Carl, Rick, morgan, Maggie, and Michonne within just two years. They’ve done this before with side characters (Beth, Noah, Tyrese, Glenn) within a two year time span and all of those characters’ had an effect on eachothers stories. (Beth died so Noah joined the group. They go to Noah’s old house and Tyrese dies. Noah dies in front of Glenn) and Glenn dying kills all of the previous build up they’ve had. Especially with Maggie leaving as well. Having those 4 side characters linked in that way is amazing writing but not when it’s repetitive and wasted potential which I personally think it is with some characters including Tyrese and the main characters that shouldn’t of even left the show.
Morgan is my FAVORITE character ,although there were at least 7 characters I cared about deeply. I slogged though the whole series, enjoyed it, but missed Morgan the most.
Something that sucks about live action long running shows is that actors and actesses may just want to leave and either work on something else and for their own health and growth it's important they do that.
@@jerrystakes It's more of a generalization especially because of all the other characters you mentioned. I don't disagree with what you said about Morgan. I liked a lot of characters they wrote out.
honestly, morgan shouldve stayed as the crazy guy who tweaks out over peanut butter protein bars, instead of the guy who killed multiple seasons of different walking dead shows, hia "Evolution" isnt anything special and is basically just sully from monsters inc, except the thinking parts that made sullys character work.
Lennie is the best Walking Dead actor. Morgan is the most underrated character. He needs to be freed from FTWD and go to Ricks show and reunite with him.
I love him in his clearing mode🤣🤣🤣. He will clear you drag you to a pile of other cleared walkers then set them all on fire. And the different faces ending with his PEANUT BUTTER BAR. SHE NEVER SAID TO HIM THAT SHE DID EAT IT UP.🤣🤣😉😉
I just caught up with Fear yesterday. Such a dud. There were like 3 half seasons that i actually thought were amazing but the rest was just absolute garbage. TWD has such great characters and setup but so much of it is squandered for some reason.
I hated how they made him all life is precious in seasons 4 & 5 of Fear Twd for Morgan. I was glad to see him to be more balanced in season 6 & 7 leaning towards killing people again but the writing sucked
Morgan didn’t just vanish without them knowing after season 8 episode 16. The season 4 premiere of FearTWD half of the cast including Rick and Carrol met up with Morgan at the Junkyard wanting him to come back with them
You are right, however, that is fear, The Walking Dead and not the main show. Yeah Rick and carol went there but they didn’t know that would be their quite possibly last conversation ever. Morgan never explicitly said he’d never come back. No one ever asked on the main show and even Rick and carol never mentioned his name again.
They put a part in FTWD where Rick and Carol come and ask morgan to come back with them and he decides to just take off running like Forrest Gump across the country lmao 🤣
I honestly don’t understand how Scott Gimple could adapt Seasons 4-6 of Twd which were incredible then do so much bad in Fear Twd for every season after 3 and Twd World Beyond
Wasn't there a whole episode of fear that starts with Morgan saying goodbye to Rick and lots of others before he takes off. And most of the rest of the episode is him just walking till he gets to Texas I think
Hello. So, technically there IS a explanation for morgan leaving. In the walking dead onslaught (one of the walking dead vr games) you can get a note from morgan, i cant remember it all, but its about him leaving after the war.
I hope Morgan reunites with Rick and they conclude his story that way. Morgan's story started with Rick and should end with Rick and vice versa Rick's story should end with Morgan. Morgan and Rick have never had a bro hug before so what better way to end their story than with THE BRO HUG.
I fully agree with you that Morgan should have taken Carl's death. The build-up was already there with Morgan being the one who built Negan's cell and his mantra of all life being precious. Somehow Gimple decided to ruin that. I would have changed his (and Carl's) story in seasons 7 and 8 as followed: 1) Morgan still goes on a killing frenzy after Benjamin's death and still gets to kill Jared (the annoying savior who killed Benjamin) 2) Carl gets knocked out by a grenade blast in S08E08 like in the comics, but in the show he goes into a coma and it's unsure if he will ever wake up 3) This still gives us crazy Rick and makes Morgan reconsider his killing ways as he sees Rick going in the same direction as he did after Duane's and Benjamin's deaths 4) Morgan gets Tobin's death and on his death bed he tries to talk Rick into All Life is Precious to leave a better world for Carl when he wakes up 5) Morgan dies, but his words lead to Rick sparing Negan. At the end of AoW Carl wakes up from his coma, so he is alive and well for his Whisperer arc 6) If they wanted to, they still could have let Morgan join Fear in the time between S03E13 and S05E01

This comment is very meaningful to me man. Thank you so very much I truly appreciate it! I had to screenshot it to save it for motivation! Thanks again :)
I wasn’t a huge fan of Morgan. Honestly I thought he was kind of annoying both when he went through his crazy phase and when he went through his peaceful phase. That being said I am hugely critical that his name was literally not mentioned one time after his exit. Every other main character who had an exit was talked about. But it was as if Morgan had never existed. He literally saved Carol’s life and she never even mentions him afterwards? Especially since Carol is such a loyal friend? It’s just bad/sloppy writing.
Last week I read the entire comics series, and I can honestly say that the TV Show version of Morgan is superior to the comics. I kept waiting for CLEAR to happen but it never did. Fantastic improvement on the source material.
I agree with Morgan 100% being a waste of a character. He was so good and full of potential really. As for Carl, I guess it was a « waste » for the people who read the comics. For me it didn’t really change anything I am sorry to say 😅. For what I heard from people who know the comics, a lot of storylines have been altered so why not this one.
@@jerrystakes I didn’t realize that. That was absolutely crazy cause he was doing his best work on the show at that point. But I think they killed off a few characters to early. On a side note this is the first time I’m finding your channel and it’s definitely enjoyable to watch. It’s a shame they didn’t have stuff like this when the wire was out.
Such an annoying character I loved him in season 1, 5 & he was okay in 6, but hate him going between the 2 extremes always lecturing people no character development he just switches back and foward
I agree about Morgan taking Carl's death. I think I even commented that on your Carl video. It just would have made so much more sense. Morgan and Carl were just done so dirty bro. Along with Rick's exit, it just left a huge hole in the show. I love Morgan, it's sad that the writers just didn't give a shit about him anymore after season 8.
I’ve always heavily respected Morgan in the show. His “Clear” phase genuinely convinced me that he is the most powerful character on the show, because we genuinely have zero idea how many enemies he took down, especially with the amount of weapons he had
Jerry, I remember when most fans were dissing the actor playing Carl for bad performances. Now they are upset for killing off Carl. Judith took his place and if there was another season, she would be the governor with a slight time jump and you would have the Commonwealth fighting off the CRM. I still have high hopes that "Fear" characters like Morgan Jones and Dee meet up with Neegan, Maggie, Michonne or Daryl in their quest to find Rick and return to the Commonwealth for a reunion. Too many questions unresolved in the "Walking Dead" finale. You don't build up the CRM in the spinoffs, only to forget about them in The Walking Dead. There MUST be more to the story!
Totally agree! Maybe now that that Fear is ending Lenny James will go do a reboot of a Jericho Season 3! He's such a great actor and his Hawkins character could be the focus of a continuation of a little know great series.
This probably isn't a popular opinion, but I'm honestly of the mindset that they wasted Morgan Jones' character starting from Clear back in season 3. In retrospect he should've been a part of the main cast from that episode and onward. Season 3, as much as I love the season, it was a little too trigger happy which is fine but I think Morgan joining the group in the prison would've balanced the show's roster more and would've made Lori and T-Dog's deaths not so hard to swallow. Especially T-Dog's which if you want to talk about wasted characters, he's damn near the top of the list when I think of wasted potential for a character with Morales being number one - i'm still mad at how they "handled" Morales. But yeah, anyways, going back to Morgan I always found it to be a damn shame that they didn't fully bring him into the group until season 6 but other than that and the fact he kept flip flopping between the extremes of needing to clear and him having the mindset that all life is precious - I didn't really have much in the way of problems with the character. That being said, I am glad he outlived his comic counterpart who died during No Way Out, and for what we got of him in the show, it wouldn't have worked to kill him off there. BUT that being said, Morgan shouldn't have survived All Out War. In fact, I remain adamant that Morgan should've died instead of Carl. The character had absolutely no right to be on Fear, it didn't make sense then and it doesn't make sense now. If Rick needed a catalyst for keeping Negan alive, which was something he did without anyone needing to die in the comics - killing off Morgan, the guy who built the jail cell that Negan would remain in post-All Out War would've been poetic. Morgan was always in Rick's ear trying to convince him of a better, more civilized way. Him surviving beyond that was a huge misstep. The biggest waste of potential for Morgan Jones was not knowing where to stop.
I love Morgan, I ONLY watch Fear because of him. I’ve been waiting for the day when the show writes his Character in better. Clear is in my top 10 favorite episodes of TWD & it’s because of Morgan. Everytime, he’s on the screen, I’m wondering what he’s going to do next. Lenny is awesome, he played the character he’s suppose to be everytime, no matter what.
Yeah Morgan was acting pretty weird how he goes to the scrapyard to tell Jada to join the team then he wanders off. That was weird.

Something that sucks about live action long running shows is that actors and actesses may just want to leave and either work on something else and for their own health and growth it's important they do that.
Agreed! But how does that relate to Morgan?
@@jerrystakes It's more of a generalization especially because of all the other characters you mentioned. I don't disagree with what you said about Morgan. I liked a lot of characters they wrote out.
Great video. New sub. Mann, that deleted scene though. Holy hell.
honestly, morgan shouldve stayed as the crazy guy who tweaks out over peanut butter protein bars, instead of the guy who killed multiple seasons of different walking dead shows, hia "Evolution" isnt anything special and is basically just sully from monsters inc, except the thinking parts that made sullys character work.
The episode of TWD when they killed Carl. Is the last episode i watched.
SHE NEVER SAID TO HIM THAT SHE DID EAT IT UP.🤣🤣😉😉
But Carl's family wanted him to go to school full-time who's gonna play him
I just caught up with Fear yesterday. Such a dud. There were like 3 half seasons that i actually thought were amazing but the rest was just absolute garbage. TWD has such great characters and setup but so much of it is squandered for some reason.
I was fine with Carl being killed off. But the way it went down was fucking stupid.
Gimple ruined Morgan, as a result they ruined Fear, Fear has so muc potential
Morgan saved FTWD cause they killed off the most interesting character way too early.
I fully agree with you that Morgan should have taken Carl's death. The build-up was already there with Morgan being the one who built Negan's cell and his mantra of all life being precious. Somehow Gimple decided to ruin that. I would have changed his (and Carl's) story in seasons 7 and 8 as followed:
1) Morgan still goes on a killing frenzy after Benjamin's death and still gets to kill Jared (the annoying savior who killed Benjamin)
2) Carl gets knocked out by a grenade blast in S08E08 like in the comics, but in the show he goes into a coma and it's unsure if he will ever wake up
3) This still gives us crazy Rick and makes Morgan reconsider his killing ways as he sees Rick going in the same direction as he did after Duane's and Benjamin's deaths
4) Morgan gets Tobin's death and on his death bed he tries to talk Rick into All Life is Precious to leave a better world for Carl when he wakes up
5) Morgan dies, but his words lead to Rick sparing Negan. At the end of AoW Carl wakes up from his coma, so he is alive and well for his Whisperer arc
6) If they wanted to, they still could have let Morgan join Fear in the time between S03E13 and S05E01
Morgan needs a happy ending he deserves it he deserves to smile and live a normal life with the people he cares
you deserve way more subscribers based on the quality of the content you put out. i was shocked when i saw that you had under 100k. you’re gonna blow up man keep up the good work.
PREACH TO US. HE MESSED UP EVERYTHING TWD.
U right about Morgan not gettin mentioned no more i was mad even Carol didn't mention him when he made her rethink things n how she came full circle
Last week I read the entire comics series, and I can honestly say that the TV Show version of Morgan is superior to the comics. I kept waiting for CLEAR to happen but it never did. Fantastic improvement on the source material.
Yeah I kinda question why Kirkman brought him back in the first place to cut him so early. Great improvement
I stayed for Rick and left with Rick. I came back and finished the show for the Rick & Michonne show.
Morgan should have replaced carls role in season 8
Scotty G was the worst thing to ever happen to AMC.
Didn’t the kid playing Carl want off the show? I thought he did and that’s why they killed him off.
Nope not true
@@jerrystakes I didn’t realize that. That was absolutely crazy cause he was doing his best work on the show at that point. But I think they killed off a few characters to early. On a side note this is the first time I’m finding your channel and it’s definitely enjoyable to watch. It’s a shame they didn’t have stuff like this when the wire was out.
A lot of characters were ruined - Andrea, Beth, Tyreese, and even Spencer.
Such an annoying character I loved him in season 1, 5 & he was okay in 6, but hate him going between the 2 extremes always lecturing people no character development he just switches back and foward
fantastic intro
I agree about Morgan taking Carl's death. I think I even commented that on your Carl video. It just would have made so much more sense. Morgan and Carl were just done so dirty bro. Along with Rick's exit, it just left a huge hole in the show. I love Morgan, it's sad that the writers just didn't give a shit about him anymore after season 8.
Another thing that irked me, Negan and Rick never mention seeing the black CRM helicopter...
Yes! OMG! I thought the same thing about Morgan taking carls death and being the main inspo for Rick to spare Negan’s life.
I’ve always heavily respected Morgan in the show. His “Clear” phase genuinely convinced me that he is the most powerful character on the show, because we genuinely have zero idea how many enemies he took down, especially with the amount of weapons he had
Scott Dimple😂
About grimes yhea it's lame AMC didn't want 2 pay Chandler a adult salary
There MUST be more to the story!
nacho varga has a youtube channel?
I DESPISE the Morgan character.
Totally agree! Maybe now that that Fear is ending Lenny James will go do a reboot of a Jericho Season 3! He's such a great actor and his Hawkins character could be the focus of a continuation of a little know great series.
Your video is well done and you are a charmer, keep it up
This probably isn't a popular opinion, but I'm honestly of the mindset that they wasted Morgan Jones' character starting from Clear back in season 3.
First few episodes of fear were great. After that, not so much.
bro i’ve been saying that for years using morgan for carl’s death would’ve been perfect for rick sparing negan
At 1:02:22 of Episode 24 Season 11 Morgan shows up! We’re the ones who live !
No wrong Morgan made fear great but not season 7 let's try 2 forget that one 😱 I'll watch season 8 though
