    Interesting machine! Obviously you know these machines so repairs will be easy. I have a Husquarna 445 chainsaw and that thing is a beast, an expensive but incredibly good brand of tools and machines.

      @NilsKall  2 года назад

      It is not pretty but it does a great job as a lawnmower. True, most stuff from Husqvarna is great, unfortunately they have added some cheaper stuff to their segment lately that can be a bit hit and miss.

    I just bought a husqvarna rider pro 15 with a kawasaki FH45 1V 15hp mower. It was in great shape although it was not used in many many yrs. No gas cap, no airfilter cover. Cleaned the gas tank amd with a bit of spray it started amd runs nicely. Had to put on 2 new tires, new spark plugs, oil change, air filter. Total is 400 dollars for everything, I was told these machines in America are not worth much.

    • @NilsKall
      @NilsKall  Год назад

      That is a good deal! I have head that the timed deck can be hard to find parts for but if that is OK you should have a great mower that lasts a long time. I don’t understand why they are not worth more in the US. Too “strange” I guess. Remember to lube the grease nipple for the tensioner and if you have one, the nipple for the rear axle.

    I have thoroughly enjoyed watching these videos! So much good information, and you obviously know these machines well. I'm in Georgia USA, what are your thoughts on converting one of these to a turf sprayer with a boom mounted on the front? Do the machines seem strong enough to carry an extra 3 or 400 pounds regularly? They are 4x4 right?

    • @NilsKall
      @NilsKall  Год назад +1

      Hi! Glad you like the videos! Most HQ Riders are not 4x4 and if you put weight in front of the front axle you will reduce the grip of the rear wheels significantly. That being said, with rear counterweight it could be done, the construction will hold up, the frame is really strong.
      If you find a 4x4 version the maximum axle load needs to be considered but my guess is that it will handle it.

      @@NilsKall Thanks so much for the reply, still currently watching your videos :D I have the thought of welding a frame off of the round frame that goes around the engine, and coming up to mount the tank over the hood, but have it so I could easily tip it to the side (empty) or just take it off completely to still easily access the engine bay. Thank you again for your reply and your informative videos!

    • @NilsKall
      @NilsKall  Год назад

      @@chrsdavism aha, so the weight would be on the rear end! Just something to consider is that the rear of the engine is where the muffler is and adding to that would also make the rear end “shoot out” more when turning. I would reinforce the hood or put metal bars over the hood and put the tank right behind the seat on top of the engine. I was actually considering adding a dump bed to the Rider 1200 that I have now but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Not sure if it is worth the hassle as the bed would be kind of small.

    Fin maskin! gillar verkligen Husqvarna maskinerna, känns som det som går sönder är vål drivremmarna som torkar och spricker, men annars kommer man långt med lite underhåll.
    vad fick du ge för denna? (missade det)

    • @NilsKall
      @NilsKall  2 года назад +1

      Hej, ja det är mest lager o remmar som går men det är ju att anse som förbrukningsvaror. De blir lite rassliga i leder vid klippdäcket när de slits men det är mer ”skönhetsfel”. I jämförelse med Stiga så är de helt klockrena både kvalitetsmässigt och funktionsmässigt. Jag sa inte priset men jag fick ge 5000kr för den vilket jag anser är ett mycket bra pris. Hade förvisso inte sett den utan slog till direkt så det var lite grisen i säcken köp.

    • @NilsKall
      @NilsKall  2 года назад

      2 Riders! Cool! I have not tried the one from Biltema but one that was made by agri-fab. It is the same as Stiga and Husqvarna sells but with different color. I hated it! It was clumsy, hard to turn, heavy to empty, missed a lot or scalped the law and it was hard to store. On a simple level lawn, it might be OK but it sure was not something I would recommend. A narrow version might do better, I think mine was 107 cm.

    Greetings from Denmark.
    Great looking rider. I have owned the exact same model (13H) with the 85cm cutting deck since 2002, and i still have it. I had the deck hot dipped and the deck is still as good as new but the frame is in bad condition.
    The12.5HP Briggs always seemed to be a little low on power and a bear to start in the winter and subzero temperatures when i used the rider to plow snow.
    So i swapped it for an 14HP Vanguard V-twin, it´s got all the power the rider ever needed and it always fires up at first try, and the K55 trans is still as strong as new.
    It has seen a lot of hours,and been used and mis-used to mow down anything from acres of tall grass to tree saplings and erica (swedish: ljung ) I even had a homemade sickle bar mower for it.
    The last couple of years it has just been sitting outside under a tarp..i hate to just throw it out for scrap.

    • @NilsKall
      @NilsKall  Год назад

      Hi! The vanguard is a great engine, I understand why you like it! The K55 is better specified than the k46 that newer models had so I’m not surprised it has held up. Too bad its just sitting, you should either sell it to a enthusiast or get it going again. There is not much in the market nowadays that can compare. Perhaps a used Rider can donate a healthy frame?

      I bought a brand new R214TC comfort edition. Do you have any experience with the newer Husqvarna / Loncin engines they use now ? Mine has the HV586AE.. it sounds ok when cold but it sounds horrible when it´s hot.
      Dealer says he cant hear anything wrong, but the rattle and mechanical noise from the engine is driving me nuts. I´m on the brink of pulling the Vanguard from the old rider 13 and put it in the 214.

      @@kaithomsen9726 hi, I don’t have any experience with them because I can’t afford the new ones! From what I have read people are happy with them but I am very skeptical against china engines. At least they should be less expensive than the briggs they had before but I can’t see that. If there is a fault your dealer should fix it and if the sound is normal at least they should show another one that makes
      the same sound so you won’t worry. Maybe you can take it to another dealer?

      @@NilsKall I have a short video of it idling after i spent 25mins cutting the grass. My phone doesn´t pick up the sound to well, it is much louder when you are standing next to the mower.
      ruclips.net/user/shortsvw5QJuYJe2g
      It does otherwise run good, has lots of power although it uses a shitload of gasoline compared to my brothers 214tc that has the 16hp intek engine. The intek is also much quieter that this china made engine.
      I have been at the dealer a couple of times complaining about the noise from the engine. He fired up a brand new unboxed rider for a few seconds, and compared to mine they sound the same, but.. that´s only when the engine is cold. Mine also sounds ok when the engine is cold, the rattle/grinding noise starts when it is warmed up and it just gets worse when it has been running for 10-15mins at full throttle.

    • @NilsKall
      @NilsKall  7 месяцев назад

      @@kaithomsen9726 hmm, does sound a bit ”rattly”. Has the oil been changed yet? Thinking it could have some “run in “ oil in it that is too light when it warms up. Could also be a heat baffle or something lose around the engine. You have 2 year of warranty right? Perhaps it will get worse and is easier to find after you have ran it for a while. It does seem like that dealer is giving you a bad service, if you can find someone else to look at it it could be better. Maybe they can check it in the off season?
