Tony Hawk - Kona Skatepark Demo 2011

Tony Hawk and the BirdHouse team at the world famous Kona Skatepark. KONA is the oldest private concrete skatepark with one of the best Vert ramps in Florida. Check out the Birdman him self in classic style skating with Kevin Staab, Tim Johnson, and a few bonus rippers. Tony and Kevin had a little collision sending Tony to the dentist the next day for repairs. It was really amazing to see Tony on his game doing what he does best. I felt like a Kid again watching "the search for animal chin" over and over. The streetcourse got ripped up pretty hard as well by the rest of the team and as usual the Night ended with some good snakerun sessions and a few bonus tricks on KONA's 17 foot high Tombstone. See Paul Harts first try huge kickflip to fakie almost over the top and Spencer Lau's very well earned lien to tail. I love skateboarding.

Some moms were at the soccer fields with their kids. I was at Kona, picking up and dropping off my son and his friends. There for all the competitions. That was in the early to mid 2000’s. Those young boys are now grown, with families, still shredding it together whenever they can. Thank you, Kona, for providing a place for kids, young and old. Cudos to the Ramos family for the “ good report card” park passes
