Hey Fred, that was an exceptional clip with Chet Huntley regarding the world communication. Thanks for including it. With all the positive & wonderful things coming from the Internet also comes all the negative like the misinformation, scams, lies & hatred. This is why some of our early lives in the 1950s & 1960s were so great. Stepping back in time with your videos always brings about good memories.
My Aunt Helen smoked Chesterfields for years and years. I have some photographs of her during WWII (she was wearing padded shoulders and picture hats) smoking Chesterfields. She died at 87, and made the strongest coffee ever. She also put ice cubes in her beer.
50 years ago I was seven..and living in Dallas...and crying because the Colts beat the Cowboys in Superbowl 5...but the next year I was elated when Dallas beat Miami in Superbowl 6!!!!!!
At 12:42 ...This dude must have been from the future...no one else predicted what he said...others only talked of flying cars and spaceships...but this guy KNEW!!!!
9:29 Fred, I would say the Baby Boomers remember more his trading jokes with Rowlf the Dog than speak-singing songs like "Big Bad John". RIP Jimmy Henson and Jimmy Dean.
People who grew up in the Washington DC area may remember this one from there past head captain Chesapeake it showed Popeye cartoons and it was followed by American Bandstand
1:15 That's among my favorite cartoons. Made by Bob Clampettt, one of the guys who did the old WB cartoons. 3:39 For *everybody*?!?!?! You gotta be kiddin' me!
Is it possible to put together a collection of PSAs through the 60's and early 70's? Some of those used to scare the you-know-what out of me--especially the ones from the American Lung Association with that scary bongo music at the end!
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who was and still gets a bit unnerved by some of those PSAs. I know that bongo music you're talking about and that is pretty chilling even after all these years.
Did anyone catch Tina in her families Christmas special on Get Tv in December? She had her oldest son when he was a baby on the show with her, one of her brothers was home from service, or maybe he was her cousin, anyway, he sure surprised his mother. It was so sweet!
Nope that would be the late Robert Lunn the talking Country Music singer who was an Opry member in the mid 1940s...... Hall of Famer Jimmy Dean is the Sausage King who adopted the recitation singing style that even Hank Williams Sr adopted in his Luke the Drifter recordings in the early 1950s
Could you tell me Fred what the beginning of Real Ghost Stories Online is from ? It's on yt just the first six seconds. I know it but the person won't tell me :(
Cool the Green Hornet with Bruce. Lee. I noticed at the beginning of the Green Hornet show it has a cartoon picture of the Green Hornet. If you find the intro pause on the hornet. The eyes are shaped like one of the most popular video games "Pac Man" Coincidence? The Pac Man game started in 1980 of 1981 a mere 6 or 7 years after the Green ?Hornet. Call me crazy but if true I want half the pac man royalties lol. The intro is not here on this but you can pull it up!

I was in love with Tina Cole!
Beany & Cecil...one of the influences for "Mystery Science Theater 3000."
Tina Cole (My Three Sons) is a member of The King Family
Russ The Troubadour she was hot
I'm a Gen X-er (born in 1966) and I best remember Jimmy Dean as Willard Whyte from "Diamonds Are Forever".
Clever putting the anti-litter commercial right after the one where the guy throws his cigarette cellophane on the ground!
Tina Cole of the King Family. Loved her.
Maybe Tina Cole just sang backup in the King Family if her voice wasn't great, but she always looked fantastic wherever she was.
That PSA about VD certainly was unexpected.
You have to see the full length version...
Really strange!!!!!!

ahh but Miami came back the next year we know how that panned out
I remember Jimmy Dean from" Diamonds Are Forever."
50 yeàrs ago I was worried about the Vietnam War and whether I'd be drafted in spite of being at USC and draft lottery #254.
At 12:42 ...This dude must have been from the future...no one else predicted what he said...others only talked of flying cars and spaceships...but this guy KNEW!!!!
I thought her voice was just fine.
Me too. I didn't remember her singing on My Three Sons a lot, but judging by this clip, she did very well.

Awesome live performance of Big John (by Jimmy Dean). What a great great song. [9:27]
Jimmy Dean was a fine entertainer and he gave the world some good food, too. I admire people who succeed in more than one field.🌞

I was in live with Tina Cole!
Frank Santore me too
as usual, great job Fred! I love your videos-they bring back SO MANY memories!
Thank you, Mr. Trek. Many more to come.
Man, my dad used to smoke Chesterfields. He rightly called them coffin nails.
1:15 That's among my favorite cartoons. Made by Bob Clampettt, one of the guys who did the old WB cartoons.
3:39 For *everybody*?!?!?! You gotta be kiddin' me!

It's possible and a good idea.
Even at 55 years old--I'd probably still get the chills watching some of them? This would be a good test for me-LOL

It's a matter of life.......and breath
Wow, that last one!! I couldn't believe it. Things have been planned for a long time.
He was describing the internet and cell phones!
Chet Huntley was a visionary. :)

hmm. Was Jimmy Dean the 1st rapper?

I'd love to see that CBS Rock Revolution report (4:50). I guess I'll google it....
Your television will become your Window To The World.. The PBS station in Chicago is WTTW ..your Window To The World
Just a comment to "the older generation" that Frank Zappa was referring to, We are so so sorry! lol

This is third time I've been asked abut it and, again, I don't know
