OMG i remember watching this Superman episode of. I Love Lucy In 1966 as a two year old. I used to runaround the dining room table with a towel wrapped Around my neck pretending i was Superman as a kid thank you for Posting this clip i haven't seen This clip in 50 years and it made me smile thank you
Thank you for these wonderful clips, I was born on 1968, but lived with 60’s 70’s influences I especially love the family themes Parents and kids doing things together! My family was this way, yes we kids did things with others but dinner holidays watching TV etc was so cool with family. I feel sad for kids today who don’t know what “dinner time “ is, “bed time” “Chores” “study time”. How those things disappeared or were seen as oppressive I don’t know. It all worked then and worked for me as an adult.
That's funny. Watching a second time through I noticed Fred from I Love Lucy fame selling us a car. lol luv it! Did you guys notice the size of that trunk. You could sneak 4 people in to the drive-in with that 🚗 ha or one of today's compact cars.
There is a good reason as to why people still enjoy those classic comedies. They were funny, which is more than I can say for the comedy shows that they have on TV now.
Winston co-sponsored "THE FLINTSTONES" during its first two seasons; the first ad is from 1961. G.E.'s Hotpoint division, co-sponsor of "THE ADVENTURES OF OZZIE AND HARRIET" during its first four TV seasons (1952-'56), sometimes referred to it in their sponsor I.D.'s as "THE OZZIE AND HARRIET SHOW". That's Mary Tyler Moore as "Happy Hotpoint" in this 1955 opening (Verne Smith, announcer). 4:49- "Fiddler on the Roof" (1971) was seen on network television ONLY ONCE {September 15, 1974}.
Because United Artists and ABC struck the same kind of agreement that MGM and NBC made for "Gone with the Wind" in November 1976: *ONE* network telecast only (although "GTTW" was eventually repeated through a separate deal).
The Baron! A staple of 'late night' viewing on ITV (commercial) television here in the UK in 1970s - along with 'Man in a Suitcase ', The Avengers, Love # American Style etc
Thanx Fred for the memories and good old Americana t.v. I'm sure it takes time and effort for what you give us ... why anyone would want to thumbs down this i have no idea. Maybe they should try to make something better 🙄 oh well it takes all kinds to make the world go around like a Ralph Malph I rekon
I found it interesting on the Corn Flakes dinosaur commercial, that Cornelius was voiced by Andy Devine...but the kids voice wasnt his own. It was dubbed by Teddy Eccles I think.
So Sorry! I should have put a little more exposition there! In your 'To Tell The Truth' segment, the celebrity whom the panel was trying to identify was Motown founding father Barry Gordy & I was guessing it was the first candidate at 16.40. (& of course... one could make an excellent case that Motown is #1!)
Sure thing, Curtis. And as your big brother from another mother, I have to tell you to come home early from the sock hop, don't give anyone "the business" and stop stealing the neighbor's transistor radio.
FredFlix Hmm, I don't know. You did have a different style than me. Besides, you always kept scuff marks on your shoes. If they hurt my feet, I'm giving them right back to you!
19:32- 1956-'57 opening title (the first under Danny's own name; he scuttled the "MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY" title after he fired Jean Hagen). Kimberly-Clark {Kleenex} co-sponsored the final season of the ABC series, with Armour & Company.
Would like to know if anyone can tell me a place or site where one can buy DVDs of movies & tv series in their entirety from the 1960s - 1990's era? Can not find available for purchase many of the TV shows and movies that I grew up with, and if by chance I do find one or two series that I have the interest in purchasing, it is usually season by season, which is price gauging. I would like to ultimately buy boxed sets of my favorite movies & tv shows from the 1960's - 1990s era, but it just does not seem possible... And I have also noticed that more & more of the older tv shows & videos are being "blocked" from being distributed, sold, heard, purchased, viewed, etc. in what one can only assume is intellectual property rights or wanting to get re-run remuneration from a time/era when such a thing did not exist. Why can't the actors & musicians from the past let us enjoy the past, because they sure knew that until the years of the TV show MASH's running, that NO-ONE was given syndication/re-run compensation rights! Intellectual property, my ass - It is just pure greed of wanting money from something which they were never given the rights to own to, even if it was the person(s) whom starred in the show that made the show what is was. A contract is a contract people; I am more than willing to give you actors & singers verbal credit & acknowledgement for what you have done in the past, for your talent & hard work, but you do not deserve monetary credit for a past show, series, movie, song, etc. that you partook/starred/were featured in years ago when you were not contracted/authorized to receive such considerations/remunerations for in the first place! Get over it and let us enjoy your fine work & talent now, instead of only seeing the bitterness & greed.
Harriet Nelson lived in that same House featured in this tv show Untill she died they actually filmed Their tv show in that actual house They lived in it wasn't a set and then They filmed Ozzie's Girls in 1972 In that same beach home where They filmed the adventures of Ozzie and Harriet I watched the Reruns in 1972 on a UHF station WUTV channel 29 in Buffalo New York

I appreciate that, ajogg.

I sneaked in the trunk one night with Billy Bagwell and he farted. There was no escape.

Fiddler on the roof
I grew up watching this primier

Thanks for the air-date on fiddler! I remember the 'TV Event' from when I was a kid... but couldn't quite place the time frame!
You're welcome.
Why was FIDDLER aired just once?
Because United Artists and ABC struck the same kind of agreement that MGM and NBC made for "Gone with the Wind" in November 1976: *ONE* network telecast only (although "GTTW" was eventually repeated through a separate deal).
the colorization of I love lucy is fantastic

Nice info. Thanks.
@@FredFlix actually, after listening to it again, it was actually Dick Beals, who was the voice of Buzz Conroy of Frankenstein Jr fame!
26:26- the original closing credits for the January 14, 1957 episode mentioned George Reeves; repeats omitted it.
God Damn, Fred! Why couldn't you have been born a female!? I would of loved to married you in a heartbeat!!! Thanks for everything you do!!!
That's very flattering! But it gives me the creeps. (In a good way!)
Bing Crosby died the same
Year as Elvis Presley 1977
I was living in england at the time
Happy Hotpoint was Mary Tyler Moore
Mr. Fred! Great Stuff! Wasn't born until '67... but I remember a lot of the 70's stuff! Oh, & help me out... Mr. Gordy was #1, correct?
Help ME out: Who's Mr. Gordy?
The creator of Motown Records!
Oh, Barry Gordy. Is he #1 in terms of music in the '60s? Could be. Phil Spector was up there, too. But Motown was about as big as it gets.
So Sorry! I should have put a little more exposition there! In your 'To Tell The Truth' segment, the celebrity whom the panel was trying to identify was Motown founding father Barry Gordy & I was guessing it was the first candidate at 16.40. Wow, I made that video couple of months ago and forgot the To Tell the Truth segment had Gordy in it! My fault.
Tuesday night goodies, yay! Thanks big bro!
Sure thing, Curtis. And as your big brother from another mother, I have to tell you to come home early from the sock hop, don't give anyone "the business" and stop stealing the neighbor's transistor radio.
FredFlix You're too funny Fred! Tell mom to keep the light on for me!
FredFlix Fred! I forgot my loafers at the sock hop! What do I tell mom? Lol!
I have an old pair of PF Flyers you can wear in the meantime.
FredFlix Hmm, I don't know. You did have a different style than me. Besides, you always kept scuff marks on your shoes. If they hurt my feet, I'm giving them right back to you!
I want a WFLS-TV T-shirt! Thank you buddy.
