    Tunings? String gauges? and then let's dive into your amps and pedals! 🤩
    Totally agree about the vol knob thing. I don't know why it's always right underneath where I pick/strum.

    • @narcoticwasteland
      @narcoticwasteland  7 месяцев назад +7

      We have two primary tunings. D standard and D sharp standard. I use Ernie Ball regular slinky for the D sharp and power slinky for the D Standard. This helps keep the string tension more consistent and also these gauges of strings can be found almost anywhere. We will get into amps and pedals on another video. Thanks for the comment!

      @@narcoticwastelandAs someone who generally just played in 6 string drop D or E standard and 7 string drop A I often wonder why people have tunings that are 1/2 step off from each other. Why D# *and* D?

    The one thing guitar makers still do that drives me insane, is them still putting the volume knob right under your picking hand. It's been long enough to where that shouldn't be the norm anymore.

    You ever thought of modding those old Ironbirds for a fixed bridge, or even a kahler, I used to have a platinum series warlock, and the Bendmaster trem is just a tragedy when it comes to tuning and diving haha. Those birds are now worth quite a bit of money now, MK1s are heavily in demand. I also recommend checking out LTD and ESP, I have 2, black series and 1000 series arrows, and they are perfect.

  • @fredfuchs69
    @fredfuchs69 7 месяцев назад +3

    Oh man, thank you for pointing out the strap button placements from the factory's. It's the same with my LTD EX Black Metal and a Gibson B2 Explorer I used to own as compared to where they stuck the strap button on your Charvel Star, in the stupidest spot where it neck dives like crazy. But, I also moved it to the back of the guitar on the neck heel and the tech at the shop thought it was weird I did that modification hahaha

    • @narcoticwasteland
      @narcoticwasteland  7 месяцев назад +2

      I got the idea from my Ibanez star destroyer. They put the strap button between the neck bolts from the factory and it balances perfectly. I need some more of those old Japanese made destroyers!!!

    Dallas, we need a guitar collection tour. Especially with how inflated guitars are these days, it'd be so cool to see a pro go in depth on how they make "cheap" JS-series/etc guitars work so well for them.

      I find that it is easier to modify the js models. I had x series and pro series Jacksons, and I have to say I like these js necks better. And they had better fret work. Having said that ALL guitars need to go in for a fret dressing and crowning/full setup.
