I did this once every 7-10 days while doing a light cool water rinse in between on the twists or scalp if a little itchy or dry. I also would add a mousse then seal with an oil then tie it down with a satin scarf which kept frizz to a minimum.. My hair had very little build up after 2 months and my hair was very very soft and the elasticity unbothered...better than before even
This is a life saver! I was about to wash my twists yesterday (and I wasn't sure what to do), but then I saw your story and I was like yes girl! I needed this 🙏🏾
Your twist are so pretty even after vacation. I tried these twist this past summer and my hair unraveled from the kinky hair, it literally lasted 1.5 weeks, my natural hair texture is not a good match for the twists hair, I was so mad because I love the style and the simplicity of it.
. happilyashley it's the texture of my hair that didn't work well with that kinky hair that I used, I have 2 textures of hair deep wave w/bone straight ends and curly both very course and very thick, it literally unraveled from the synthetic hair after 1.5 weeks. It does well with box braids with kanokolin hair. I'll stick with that for protective styling.
Lil Jon Snow I didn't, I used kankoline with my box braids which worked out great. I used the proper kinky hair for the twist that my natural hair wouldn't stay in even with proper technique and product. I had proper guidance with style, it just didn't work with my natural hair, which is a mix of various textures due to genetics simply put. Thank you and I appreciate the guidance and response.😊
My routine is very similar except I wash with the hair in a hairnet. Water makes the hair so heavy, I don't want my hair stretched and pulled, and the hair doesn't slip. The net stays on until the hair is practically dry.
Loved this super detailed. I am always worried about full on washing causing my hair to frizz out or matte when I remove. Have you experienced any matting once you remove?
Thank you so much for the helpful video!! Just a comment about how you rub your fingers through the twists: I noticed that you showed not rubbing with fingers on the hair island itself, but trying to rub in the parts to help prevent frizz. However, when you were using both hands to scrub the hair, how did you keep your fingers to only rub in the parts?
So glad I saw this video. Next week I am installing two-strand twist extensions (with kinky/Marley hair) and I'll be in Mexico two weeks later. I will definitely be in the water everyday. YaY!
Hey hey! I'm very very new to this natural hair journal because I relaxed my hair when I was 10, then wore braids for 6 years to let it grow but my teacher forced me to change that so I relaxed it again and 1,5 year later I braided it again. Now a half year later I did a big chop 2 days ago, because of your video's och I love them so much! So, I'm trying to figure out how to take care of my hair. Today I bought the eco styler protein gel but I'm wondering if I have to rinse it out before sleeping or can I just leave it in? I'm going to rinse it out now because I expect no reactions at this time (23:00 Netherlands) and I'm going to sleep in a few minutes. Thankyou very much! :D
Thanks for this video. I am 13 months post and going on a week long vacation soon. It is great to know twists should survive a week in the ocean and pool.
Does washing your seneglese twists cause your hair to get matted? I know when I washed my hair with twist in it my hair got matted but it was all my natural hair it didn't have any weave in. I wonder if It'll be a difference when I add weave.
I already took my hair out. After a month of no Detangle Nguyen you will have ALOT of she'd hair, which is normal. We lose 50 to 100 strands a day.. now multiple that by 30 days
Hi! I got braids a few weeks ago and I need to wash my hair but I'm afraid of washing it under the sink because it might get frizzy and I'm paranoid. Did you get any type of frizz after the video? I'm scared to do it but I need to wash it 😭
Hi, i hope that you would reply to this / anyone would. I'm asian, and i really wanted to do twist braids / box braids. I never did this before, so i have few questions to ask. 1- Usually how long does the braid stays? A month? Two or three? 2- When drying, is it okay to use hair dryer instead of squeezing and drying it with towels? 3- Usually how many times should i wash my hair in a week? Or should i wash it only when my scalp starts to get flaky / when the hair starts to smell? 4- For example, i wash and do all the hair care routine on monday. For the next day onwards, is it okay if i just apply hair care products (such as argan oils) repeatedly till my next hair wash (which is probably on wednesday / friday?) Im the girlfriend by the way. Ignore my boyfriend's picture. I hope anyone would respond to this :) Any extra tips would be very much benificial. Thanks!
JourneyTo WaistLength for how long? In the video you said the whole process took 10 mins in total. It takes me hours for my twists to air dry from being soaked!
It can and will slip depending on the installing method. Some people start the twist with a braid and some start with twisting at the roots. If your twists starts with a braid, it will start to slip once that water and product hits it.

JourneyTo WaistLength My scalp dries up just like yours, just a little more worse. I can wash my hair today, apply a little oil to the scalp but after two days, I'd have to apply again. I have been diagnosed with scalp eczema but I need a natural home-made hair regimen I can stick to which allows me to moisturise the scalp at least twice a week & not every day. What do you recommend?
I did this once every 7-10 days while doing a light cool water rinse in between on the twists or scalp if a little itchy or dry. Did you have extensions in as well?
I know mousse doesn’t condition your hair, so may I ask why you sealed it with oil?
This is a life saver! I was about to wash my twists yesterday (and I wasn't sure what to do), but then I saw your story and I was like yes girl! I needed this 🙏🏾
Very easy and simple routine, it doesn't look like there would be much damage to your natural in one month. It look really heavy while wet though!
I dyed my hair with my twist, and then slayed my edges. looks so good
Thanks ladies

Jbutterfly15 whoever braided your hair didn't do the best job my mom wore here twists for 3 months

Mine don't last with braids either and I'm planning to get them twisted LOL I hope they last
My routine is very similar except I wash with the hair in a hairnet. Water makes the hair so heavy, I don't want my hair stretched and pulled, and the hair doesn't slip. The net stays on until the hair is practically dry.
But how though?
This is really smart!
Wow those twists are still really neat.
People were telling me not to do this but now that i see how simple it is and hjow ur hair came out i have to try!
About to wash my protective style tonight. Ahhh thanks!
Loved this super detailed. I am always worried about full on washing causing my hair to frizz out or matte when I remove. Have you experienced any matting once you remove?
JOURDAN LONDON I washed mine on a weekly basis when I wore my hair like this, she does every 2 weeks. Mine did not mat.
Love that shower head girl
It still looks so good ❤ Marley twists are my favorite
thank you

I usually use a spray bottle when I wash my hair but I’ll try this and see if it works.
omg you are so pretty. loving that lipstick
This video is great! Thanks girl I just got twists two weeks ago and want to wash them today. Happy holidays fellow Wonderwoman fan.❤️
Happy holidays!
How did you prepare your twist before you went swimming ?
So glad I saw this video. Next week I am installing two-strand twist extensions (with kinky/Marley hair) and I'll be in Mexico two weeks later. I will definitely be in the water everyday. YaY!
Take me with youuuu
These twist look so good I always get scared to wash my hair while in braids or twists
Hey.. Could you try the Maximum Hydration Method, and make some videos about it?
I'll appreciate!

Can you use the same method for crochet briads
This is the same thing that happened to me. Love this video. Thank you.

My hair is starting to get frizzy and I only had it for three weeks now . I haven’t washed my hair but I plan on washing it soon.

You're so beautiful!!
Gloria Mutombo thanks! 😁

Of no detangling *

This is a good way to do it , thanks and that leave in looks bomb....🔥🔥
Thank you. This was super helpful.❤
I want to do this so bad but my schools water is so disgusting 😩😢, gotta wait till I go home I'm November 😢😢
Do you live in a house or apt? It looks very nice. You're very pretty and seem like a cool person...I love that lip color on you too.
Can I do this with crochet twist?
Ebony Arnold yes. I've done this with crochet kinky twist before.
So its OK to wash Senegalese twist with expressions hair?
Yes
Can you do this with Havana twist.
I love all your videos
What type of hair did you use to do your twists? Was it like Marley hair?
Yes this was Marley hair
is this method better than using a spritz bottle?
+Nx Vx both work very well. Spray bottle might be more time consuming but i like both method equally
will this work with sew ins and oher protective styles?
Thank you for sharing.
Hi! I got braids a few weeks ago and I need to wash my hair but I'm afraid of washing it under the sink because it might get frizzy and I'm paranoid. Did you get any type of frizz after the video? I'm scared to do it but I need to wash it 😭
*under the shower
No i didnt.
I have 3b-4a curls! Is my hair hair type to thin to get these twists? Would these twists not hold for my curl type?
Paige Ford i have 4a-4b and i have crotchet braids in and my hair is holding pretty good
How often should I wash my braids men?
Lol Fc Every two weeks
You look so gorgeous in the thumbnail
If you don't have a leave in could you use hair pomade instead?
No that should be used last
You should use something that contains water as the first ingredient
Do you think it's a bad idea for me to leave my braids in for 2 months? I have twa but my hair is def. long enough for braids now.
+Esther T no. 2 months is fine
JourneyTo WaistLength great thank you!
How long have you had them??
1 month
I didn’t see in the description, but what packs of hair did you use?
xpression
How long does the twist last?
do we use the exact sameWith real twists?
Yes you can. But real twist will have a lot more frizz. Hair extensions keep the hair from frizzing as much
I luv ur video 😍
Thank you so much 😀
Does it matter what shampoo and conditioner?
No it doesn’t
Will u flat iron your natural hair?
Maybe next yr
How long can and should one wear twist extensions ?
It depends.. I only wear them for about 2motnhs. I wouldn’t recommend going passed 3
perfect !!
Superb. Will do same. Thks
Was with hot or cold water?
Warm
What if I’m keeping mine in for much longer
You may experience breakage and lots of tangles
Are those Marley twists?
Is there a reason that you took them out so soon?
I want to make natural hair tutorials
How do i keep them looking good but also not itchy and smelling good
Without it being frizzy
Following my braids videos
whats ya lip color
Do the rings cause breakage for you? Whenever I leave the rings in and wash it, it always rips out my hair..
No they don't. They don't move

I usually keep mine in for two months
How did you get them to dry so fast? Did you use a hairdryer as well?
I let my hair air dry
JourneyTo WaistLength for how long? In the video you said the whole process took 10 mins in total. It takes me hours for my twists to air dry from being soaked!
No I said wash, condition, Moisturize and seal.
You can speed up the drying time if you blow dry but I prefer to air dry.
JourneyTo WaistLength cool or heat when drying?
I'm glad I have no baby hairs tbh xD
Why don't you use dry shampoo?
I think naturals can use it because people with locks use it also
it doesn't slip off?
Huh?
Love Myself no. If your hair is done properly they will stay in and not slid off of your real hair.
+Life With Nina no they don't slip
It can and will slip depending on the installing method. Some people start the twist with a braid and some start with twisting at the roots. If your twists starts with a braid, it will start to slip once that water and product hits it.
@@sashaj.8465 seemed like it would be the opposite
