Yessssssss that happened to me but then as soon as I took them out I remembered that the only reason my mom gave me braids was because she cut it in half so it is SHORT.
Update: I still have the ratchet braids in at month 3 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Why? Because I may or may not be a little trifling & completely didn’t try to care this summer at all and just embraced my lil boho look in a half up half down ponytail for most of it 🤷🏽♀️😩
t. bby. how is that even possible? i got braids for the 1st time last month & tried to go 1 week without washing my hair & it started itching like crazy!!

I learnt how to wash and maintain my braids thanks to you years ago. I usually wash my box braids once every two weeks and I keep them for a total of 4 to 6 weeks. I cannot go up to 3 months. Wow this video brings back old youtube vibes. ;-)
Y'all say her hair looks good for three months but y'all don't understand she takes care of the braids some other RUclipsrs leave there's in for two months and y'all bash them like let them do as they please
Excellent video, I’ve had mine In for two months and they still look neat like yours because I wear a scarf every night, no excuses. This is hairstyle is not cheap to get done, I want my money’s worth.
I'm 46 yrs old and have never had braids. Because I have to wash my hair either everyday or at least once or twice per week. I'm obsessed with clean hair and scalp, but after watching this. I'm getting braids next week. Thanks!!!
Watching in 2021. My very first box braid inching like crazy in one week. I found this so helpful. I am planning on keeping it for at least 2 month. I paid a lot of money. With today's economy💯
I know this is a hair video and I truly enjoyed the tips.. Very helpful. But you are Absolutely S L A Y I N G this pregnancy. So beautiful and glowing. 😍😍 That snap back is going to be A-MA- ZING!! God bless you and your family. I just love you guys
Thank you so much for this video. I have never had box braids before and ignorantly thought that it wouldn't be easy to wash your hair with them in! It's nice to see the process, so thank you!
Thank you so much ,iam washing my hair the right way tomorrow thanks to u lol I never realized the amount of care having braids takes but thank goodness for videos like this I don't have to freak out or ruin them because I've never had them done before
This was really good! I just got box braids for the first time and I am wanting to know how to wash them because I hate having a dirty scalp. Thanks so much!
I just started my hair growth journey and got my braids on. I don't even know my type of hair And my hair is two weeks and with this video, I can now say there are no dandruff in my hair So thank you for this video it really helped a lot.💖💖💖
This video helped me so much. The #1 thing that put me at ease was the difference between breakage and knowing that little hairs with white bulbs were just shredded hair. I was in a panic thinking my braids were too tight and they were being ripped out! I am on the 3-4wk mark of my box braids and I love them. The scalp itch and irritation was at the point where I was ready to take them down. But I didn’t want to “waste” the style after such a short time. Especially since balmy braids still looked fresh and new! With your detailed steps I was able to successfully wash, dry and moisturize my hair and scalp. I feel like new again and I am so happy I can extend my style for a few more weeks. I usually don’t let them stay longer than 6wks mainly because I’m ready for a new hair color lol. Thank you SO MUCH
Yes your braider does play a major role. I can attest to that.. Natasha is bomb at what she does.! She has done my hair once and when I visit T.O again I’ll be having her do my braids.
I like this video! I leave my braids in for 3-4.5 months and they're the best. My mom always think I got a new set in lol. I just put in some mini box braids early Nov and I'm going to take them out in Feb. My hair grows so much in them.
You're a beauty. I'm shocked and would never be able to guess that you've not washed your hair for THAT period of time. Lucky you for having lovely locks.
I just start wearing braids two weeks now, and take them out Monday and wash my hair , I put them back today and my scalp is still itching. Yours kept well Thanks a lot for sharing appreciate this video 👏
Prior to installing synthetic hair to your own hair, take a bucket and soak the hair in Apple cider vinegar mixed with water for about 20 mins. Rinse the hair thoroughly, shampoo to get any remaining smell of Acv and let hair air dry. Synthetic hair is treated in the factory with some solution that has alot of us itch tf out of our scalp. The Acv removes that solution 😁😁😁
This is genius!! Putting the shampoo in and then getting in the shower! It allows u to take your time cleaning the hair and it conserves water. Amazing 🤩
I wash my box braids , condition and seal every 3 weeks and ppl always think i just get them done.. The more you moisturize your hair in the braids the more silky and new they will look. I grew a lot of hair like this. Its called the crown of glory method. Beautiful video and new subscriber :)

Thanks for this video. I had my knowledge braids in for 4 weeks now and I'm ready to wash it and came across this video. I'm glad I did. Great video. Now Im ready to wash them.
Omg my braids never last longer than a month! Your hair looks amazing for three months!!! I noticed that in the front your new growth is twisted. Is it ok for it to be twisted? My cousin told me that it can lead to breakage do you know if that’s true?
Omg omg omg I used to watch your channel so much as a new natural, I'm now 4 years in! Did you finally reach waist length?? You look amazing!!! I'm gonna binge all your other videos lol
It looks good! I am on my second week with my braids. I had my hubby help me wash and deep condition these braids. Unfortunately, I will be taking them out in December! Thanks for sharing your experience. 😊
@@artcarrol9293 Yeah, you'd have to comb it out like you would the gross hair after. You should probably only do it once to make the style fresh again but once it gets frizzy after that, just take them out. I saw a video about it a while ago.
Wow 3 months of wearing braids your hair really looks nice still you've taken good care of your braids. And thank you for showing us your wash routine. Hope you and baby d our fine?
I have never kept my hair in braids for 3 months. I re plait them every week and only have them in for 6-8 weeks. My scalp gets super dry when my hair is in braids even tho I use oils and water to keep them moisturised.
Thank you Mama for sharing and giving is these tips. I will certainly do this with my children. Your hair looks amazing after 3 months and you are looking beautiful, as always.
From what I remember when a woman is pregnant hormones cause the hair to continue to grow without stopping and they look thicker, but after birth it goes the opposite way and sheds what would've shed during pregnancy.
I got my knotless braids installed in November. I legitimately dont want to take them out but my scalp is on FIIIRRREEEEE!!! I will definitely try this method and hopefully i can make them last a little longer.
Wow they look great to be 3 months old!! I'm a guy with single braids. My hair. I have a very fine soft grade of hair. Needless to say my braids dont last and become frizzy with in 2 weeks, or up to a month, if I really try to keep it up. In saying that, I do very hands on work, so it's really hard to stay on it. My question is how would you wash my type of hair and keep it from frizzing up? Any tips, products or suggests? I had locs for over 10 years, and just like locs I noticed that washing it helps tighten it up.
I was a little scared about washing my knotless braids and I just got them done like 3-4 days ago turns out I was going to a water park and got my hair a little wet. I did the water bottle method with shampoo and rinsed it out in the shower. And that’s all I did. No conditioner because I was lazy lol. But my scalp is frizz free and squeaky clean. Also used wild growth oil after my scalp was a little dry. If you’re interested in the shampoo I used reply to my comment also my hair dried pretty quick so if you wanna know the kind of hair I used also let me know
Same reason I got my braids , wigs get so TIRINGGG . Having braids now has honestly been so much better , except for the itching which is my fault for not rinsing the chemicals out my synthetic hair first
THANK YOUU!!! I just got my hair done and I'm planning to go swimming soon so i will need to wash my hair. I thought i couldn't because i have braids but now i can.
I loved this video i literally always keep my box braids for 3 months and friends and family always ask me how i do it lol. 1) the 1st month i really don't do much to it (either straight down middle part or maybe a ponytail to to the back). 2) i oil my hair but not very often (maybe 3 to 6 times a mnth but i do it really good). 3)i dont wash my hair alot/at all lol.
