Wonderful song played very nicely. And that Martin sounds sweet; rings crisp and clear. I haven't tried this tune yet but your lesson should hopefully make it doable. Thanks!
Subbed...i know most of this....main chords are pretty easy but came here to nail the " ill get on my feet n fly away " - part . which is the burden to bear i summise but is the crescendo and the songs triumph . Appreciate the upload man nicely done and you went thru this efficiently Anyobe trying to learn this should b able to . Its truth that Noone justs walks into playing the Deads repertoire these are master songwritiers and composers to learn these songs takes patience passion and willpower but they are there like puzzles to pick on Cheers all players Onea the deads best indeed
Oh, nice - I like this advice about writing the lyrics and chords down by hand. I’m going to do it for a different song that’s much more simple than this EPIC tune. And, I am coming back to learn some of these parts, too.
Great stuff.. thank you especially for that opening riff! That Martin sounds awesome too btw.. loved playing along with my Taylor. Great name too, btw ;)
When you asked for feedback my first thought was to trash it a little - it moves really slow at the start, but now I'm like - this is cool. You have a great approach and this is exactly what I needed to nail down the final parts of the song I still wasn't feeling in my own playing. Thanks! - it does run a little slow at the start :)
@@micahlong8186yes this video helped fill in the blanks so thanx alot its just a matter of memorizing the changes at the crescendo part for me but yea this helped ..excellent upload god bless

Thank you, I've been struggling with the chorus for about 30 years LOL!

"You now know the song!" Whatever you say man. Great tute, really like the arrangement.
Thanks for the lesson. Keep the dead alive. Just a tip, i always like lessons when people play first what they are going to explain later.
Great lesson Micah - cheers bro!!!
Hey now! Took me a bit... but i think i'm starting to do this song and ole Jerr justice. Thanks!
12 frets as well on your beautiful guitar. Love Wharf Rat as it’s so cinematic as a song imo

You’re a Micah, so what you say must be infallible.

I'ts not a happy song bro. Its tempo is not one of pep and zip.
Well it’s to far out for a lesson as it’s strayed to far from something that’s recognisable as Grateful Deads Wharfe Rat.
too complicated. needs to be slower tempo.
😲
