MuchMusic was Canada’s MTV _(before Direct TV made things easy to get from anywhere)._ My dad was an electrical engineer & during his time in the US Military, he was heavily involved with the early usage of satellite broadcasting & communication… after he was done with the military, our front yard had a sizable _C-Band_ Satellite Dish on it, and I remember my older sisters used to fill our house up with all their friends every Wednesday after school & they’d all watch the upcoming episode of _Beverly Hills, 90210_ & what they were watching was what was being broadcast to the local Fox affiliate, in order for them to cut it all up and insert local commercials and advertising into the commercial brakes. Then, a hurricane destroyed the dish, it wasn’t worth repairing & parts weren’t easy to come by because Direct TV was becoming available… so, we got that & instead of watching 90210 early, they’d be bouncing between MTV, VH-1, Much Music & BET…I didn’t care for music videos, I was either out on my motocross bikes, or in my bedroom playing my guitars…
Great memorabilia, Metal was, is and will be the best. I remember that intro with the "Angel of Death" track, I think you've cut the studio part in that singers is vocalizing some love song, after all see again that intro is gold dust for me, thanks a lot for this video clip.
That guy with AC/DC was Michael William's who (before Much) was a DJ at CHOM-FM here in Montreal. I used to call him up when he worked at CHOM. He was a very cool guy. I wish I knew what happened to him.
I thought her and the other VJs of the time were great. When it was Rick the Temp and onwards, I just couldn't watch their ass kissing style. Example: Rick saying to Christina Aguilera how great she looked in the Lady Marmalade video.
Are you serious? Did you literally miss the last decade? I almost feel like I'm breaking bad news to you that you apparently missed The Signal. The greatest national late night radio show in history.
I don't know about that - I got into Maiden because KIK FM (Calgary) played side one of Piece of Mind when it came out. Nazareth and AC/DC were all over that station... When we moved back to Winnipeg, CITI FM was playing Priest, a bunch of the heavier glam-y stuff (W.A.S.P. etc) all the way up that the day the went OFF AIR for 24 hours (they seriously played along tone in between recorded messages about format changes for the whole day) and came back with a goofy soft-rock format :/ Powerhour saved us from all that nonsense, for sure :/
I did have those episodes at one point but regretfully recorded on top of them. I did this often as I never had enough VHS cassettes. If I remember correctly, it was a special multi part show called "Stone Age". It was Brown's last show and seemed a bit tipsy. Funny.
Used to have this stuff recorded on a VHS tape as well.....watched it over and over. Great to see it again. Much Music was way better than MTV.

He moved to Los Angeles about 20 years ago to become a music producer.
Laurie Brown who went on later to work for CBC
She is quite skilled and was the best VJ in my opinion.
Laurie Brown had all the charisma of a golf ball.

REED ST MARK
whatever happened to Laurie Brown always loved her hated when she left much music :(

Dear God. This is Beavis & Butt Head ,IRL.
Was our only source of metal in Canada. Radio stations wouldn't play heavy rock in the 80s
True.

Anthrax and their shorts! Scott Ian is such a liar. As if he didn't practice to play those rhythms. ;-)
