    Great Video, Mike. Thanks for all you did sweeping out my garage and organizing everything :-). I almost cried when I saw how you guys set nearly everything up so I could hit the road as soon as I got home!!
    Catch up with you soon.

      Rita, read the comments. This is not a mutual back patting society. Lots of things done wrong on this rig. Vacuuming the garage does not make them right.

    Thousands of vanbulds watched and this one is still one of my favs. Not “futsy ” or over complicated. Open plan bright and spacious. The mom is a “shero”of mine ever since I first came across her tour.

    Very nice set up. I have one safety suggestion, paint those propane tanks white. Black absorbs heat and you wouldn't want those in the sun.

    I have a bus that is almost a twin to this one. A 96 with the 7.3 powerstroke built by supreme in Goshen Indiana. So fun fact if you get a wireless winch remote you can set it up to open and close the door with a key fob that looks like a normal key fob for a car. Love what you did I will be posting videos of mine when it's done. I am setting it up for pet and rescue transport. It has 40 built in kennels and then a small sleeper areas with a fridge, microwave and a shower.

    The shuttle bus is so much better than a school bus. Double layer fiberglass is far superior to a thin skin of steel. Much cooler in the sun and warmer in the winter. Trust me I live in one.

    There is a stretch shuttle bus in Pittsburg, KS on 4th St. I'd love to get my hands on. And to let people know, there is a bus for sale in the Oloogah/Talala town in Oklahoma. You will see it driving down 169 Hwy. It's been there for a long time. I don't know what kind of condition it's in. I own a home I do not want to give up to live on a bus, but I would love to own a camper conversion for the dog obedience trials I attend.

  • @critterkarma
    @critterkarma 4 года назад +1

    Generally, wonderful looking build. Several comments: on the back porch, if there was an ability to fabricate rounded corners on the back end, then that could have happened. The seat box housing the electrics, why was a hinge placed at the side end? Shouldn’t it have run along the back of the seat lid? Lastly, WTF is up with the 4x4 column? Is it needed as a support for something on the roof? Because it isn’t a great design choice. If it is a support for roof weight, why didn’t you just fabricate a roof rack, and divert the weight? I hope you will take some of my comments into consideration on your own and future builds. 👍 You got skills, for sure.

    I’m considering doing a shuttle build now. They are less expensive for the same engine/chassis as like a Transit or Sprinter and it is designed with passengers in mind so you are more likely to walk away in an accident. My biggest concern is all of the many many windows and building around them. You are just covering the windows where needed?

  • @latrace1986
    @latrace1986 4 года назад

    I get the reasoning for keeping the electrical controls at 6:30 near the batteries and inverter, but that looks like a tight gap to walk through there, especially if you're going to have stuff plugged in there.

    Hinge an aluminum channel deck on the bumper that is the width and height of the bus that folds up and down. Fold it down with swing down adjustable legs. The lights will shine through the grating or you can add $10 Harbor Freight magnetic ones to the bumper or permanent ones to the bottom of the deck when it's folded up.
    Could you provide the make and model of the following?
    Flooring.
    Stove.
    Fan.
    Refrigerator.

    Hello I was hoping to see the conversion from the very beginning. I am curious of what it takes to convert one. I was wondering in your own opinion which do you feel is easier to Convert a Shuttle Bus or a School Bus. And which is your favorite and why. I am really hoping to get a Shuttle Bus but need more info on what it takes to have someone convert it. Wish I was able to do it myself but it seems extremely physical and then there's the electrical and so many other things to consider. Thank you, Irene

    Idk if you guys have run into this issue before. But I am buying a shuttle bus used for paratransit. The main entry door is a wheelchair lift. I know they can be removed… but if there is no stairs underneath, what do you do? All the buses I’ve seen have a secondary stair entrance, so it’s not so important what is under the wheelchair lift. I literally have no idea what I’m up against. Everyone is telling me to just leave it. But I hate it.
