Great video. How hard was it to get the wooden floor boards installed. I heard horror story's. I was thinking about buying one.
Where did you get that downrigger?
Sweet boat. I just ordered the Sea Eagle 285 pro edition. I have a question I hope you'll be so kind to answer. The sea eagle website says the carry bag that everything comes in is 85" long x 63" wide carry bag. That seems massive considering the size of the box you and others who do unboxing videos received. Is the carry bag really that long and wide, or is the dimensions a missprint on their website for the carry bag?
It's not really a bag but more of a crossed shaped sheet with straps and handles that bend around it.
What size battery did you use with the 285?

It never occured to me that I can put a small downrigger on the Sea Eagle. Good thinking.
I am waiting for mine to get here, should be soon. When you opened the box and the floor panel was on top I was relieved. I watched one vid where the guy said that it was an optional part that you had to order separately. I don't know.
Do you think the drag from the downrigger may have been causing the boat to not track?
It's part of it. But it dose not track when the rigger isn't down. It's because its flat bottomed and weight to one side or the other will make a pontoon dig and drag you around. So trolling is possible, its just a battle.
@@DFNW Ahh, I see what you mean. Well then, on the bright side I guess I can snug up the motor so it's centered and use the lean to steer a bit while trolling along the weed lines. lol
Hello, I just purchased a Sea Eagle 285 Pro. And, I want to mount a trolling motor. I'm curious what length shaft your trolling motor is and what you think is the best length...30 inch or 36 inch shaft?
Hello Robyn, I use the very basic 30 ib thrust with the 30 inch shaft. Nothing more is necessary. I hope you enjoy your Sea Eagle.
