Can we not just appreciate the talent of these two singers? They are both amazing just like Avi, Geoff, Sterban and many others but every time I watch one of these videos the first thing I see is arguments about who is better/who’s right/who’s lower and I would just like to go into the comments and see positivity for once.
Love the basses! Elliot is amazing! I lead singing at church and sing bass line when I'm not leading. Struggle past a C2. These guys make the depths look so easy. Great stuff!!
@@_generation_youth_x28 you're probably right. But they make it look so easy and ya gotta love the substance they bring to a piece they are singing. Music in general is great, but, I truly enjoy A cappella.
@@johnellis9494 yeah same, ive always wanted to sing octavist for my church, i managed to sing at my schools choir but at church the sound guy doesnt want me messing with the speakers, and we dont do much acapella, and a beat boxing bass/octavist doesnt really fit in, and im cast off as some guy that cant sing but only makes low rumbling noises, even though i can sing high like a E2!

Nice Video. 1: I like the Thumbnail looks very good. 2: In my opinion Lowest goes to Elliot the god of course. 3: But like I’ve said a lot about his voice is not very warm in my opinion. 4: Tim has a very warm and crispy tone to his notes, but can’t go lower. 5: Both Very incredibly talented basses. Elliot= Lower, very clean high range Tim Foust= Crisp/warm sound, also a very good high range. There are no winners in m opinion, they are just very talented:) Congratulations on 100subs:)
okay so Tim’s E1 in Flowers On The Wall sounds extremely similar to Elliot’s F#1’s so it doesn’t make sense to me how you can call the F#1’s chest and not think the E1 is too.
Steven Bills well, Tim said that the E1 was “in the fry family”. And Elliott says he can sing down to at least F1 in chest, and of course sometimes lower. So that’s why
Cole Fountain i don’t hear growl tbh, the only other possible thing to me would be chest fry because of how “i’ve nothing to do” right after sounds like it but that also sounds different than the E1 so 🤷🏻♂️
Retsdig 101 most likely chest fry. Tim said his flowers on the wall E1 was “in the fry family” and it sounds pretty similar to that one, though it does sound surprisingly subharmonic
Matthew Dockray subharmonics kinda feel like fry so if he accidentally found out how to do subharmonics that wouldn’t surprise me much lol. I’ve heard so much chest fry and subharmonics, and the way that the sound just fills and rumbles in my ears sounds just like a subharmonic. It sounds very similar to Geoff’s subharmonic at the end of Oogie Boogie, and in the Voiceplay collaboration where time dropped another one he hit a subharmonic E1. It was a direct drop from E2 to E1. If you compare the chest-fry Eb1 from Down to the Honkeytonk to the E1 in Flowers on the wall, there’s way more resonance and a bassy feeling in the E1 rather when in the Eb1 tho you can hear it pretty easily it doesn’t sound that resonant. Another thing is, you can feel the E1 in your headphones, but you can’t feel the Eb1 as much, and that one is clearly chest fry
@@wALkEr-gd9ff That's not a thing. Maybe you meant "chest-fry" but in any case, after listening to it again, I'm still fairly certain that it was a growl; more specifically a subharmonic growl (like what he does in "honey I'm good"). The B1 that follows might be in chest/chest-fry though, hard to tell.
@@wALkEr-gd9ff All of those considerations aside, Tim can produce an F#1 in chest-fry (Friends in low places) anyway and has gone down to an E1 (Folsom prison blues) in that register. It's just not in his modal register (which stops at around G#1/G1) while Geoff's, for example stops at G1/F#1
Bass Nerdd I can hear the fry mixing in every note below G1. If you compare the G1 to any note lower you can hear a clear difference in the smoothness and a clear presence of some sort of throat singing/fry type thing going on. for comparison it sounds a lot like geoff castellucci’s “chest” E1’s where you can hear it turn into a type of fry, but it sounds like that for every note below G1 for Elliot.
Steven Bills: I understand what your saying. So his G1 from: I’m the Bag Guy sounds completely different from his first F#1, where he goes yea(c#) yea(g#1) (f#1). And I’m confused about the E1 and his G1, could u expand
Bass Nerdd like you said the G1 is different from the F#1. to me the G1 sounds very smooth and controlled while the F#1 obviously is mixed with some sort of fry. when i referenced Geoff’s E1’s, i was saying how those are mixed with subharmonics/fry and it sounds extremely similar to all of Elliot’s notes below G1
Sérgio Siqueira very debatable. I don’t think it’s chest. If you listen to the Eb1 in Down to the Honkeytonk, it’s completely fried. So I doubt he could reach Eb1 in full chest.
Good for including the new Tim foust E1s
Do you know where to find Elliotts O Holy Night?

I actually think Tim sounds nicer with his modern techniques to protect down his normally uncoftable notes
Joseph Stanfield's: I agree
Bass Nerdd I know growl is easy to do but to make it musical and sound smooth is a mastery only Tim has
Love them all. Tim has always been my favorite.
5:01 he goes down do an E1 right after the F#1
Do you think that Elliott Robinson should be in Home Free as a 2nd bassist? With Tim Foust.
Anyone knows where to find Elliotts O Holy Night?
Tim Foust bass sounds better than any I have heard, even the world record lowest bass vocal note holder Tim Storms.
Go lower doesn't mean have a better voice.
Might wanna check George Younce London Paris Rodney Britt Jimmy Johnson Melvin Franklin Joe Thompson Isaac freeman Michael McCary Avi Kaplan

They sound pretty similar down there. Elliott has such a full sound that it's gotta be chest.
What song is in 0:50? Love the video man!
Little Red Riding Hood :)
Nice video! What’s the song at 4:48?
It’s part of Axiom Vocal’s recent album. It’s not on RUclips, you can find it on Spotify
has anyone decided what the E1 in Flowers On The Wall is because i still don’t hear anything to show it’s not chest
Steven Bills probably chest fry or growl, doubt that it’s full chest
Cole Fountain i don’t hear growl tbh, the only other possible thing to me would be chest fry because of how “i’ve nothing to do” right after sounds like it but that also sounds different than the E1 so 🤷🏻♂️
Steven Bills my guess would be chest fry, I believe Tim said it was “ in the fry family”. So that most likely it
Cole Fountain then again, he said himself he doesn’t know the terms. he doesn’t even call growl...growl. he may be referring to that
Steven Bills he said it’s “probably in the fry family”
The E1 from Tim at 6:05 sounds like subharmonics... which I dont know if he can do or not,,,
It’s probably chest fry
It’s subharmonics, way to mellow to be chest fry
Retsdig 101 most likely chest fry. Tim said his flowers on the wall E1 was “in the fry family” and it sounds pretty similar to that one, though it does sound surprisingly subharmonic

In the butts remix Tim hit F#1 chest
Denis D in the description I explained that I don’t personally think it’s full chest, hence why I didn’t include it. It’s debatable

@@colefountain1030 sure but the chest note F#1 in the butts remix is 100% for me
Sérgio Siqueira that’s fair. Personally not convinced, but it could definitely be chest.
@@colefountain1030 Exactly, doesn't make any sense for Tim to have a chest Eb1.
The Eb1 of the house party is a growl voice
Elliot so breathy not clean i dont like his voice
Tim’s lowest chest note is an E1 not a G1...
Absolutely not
Tim barely hits a G1, no disrespect to him he's awesome, but he's never demonstrated anything even close to E1 in chest.
