Cozumel has FIVE piers, though cruise ships use THREE of them! Punta Langosta, the International Pier, and Puerta Maya. Puerta Maya and the International Pier are next to each other, while Punta Langosta is right in downtown San Miguel de Cozumel and is the one Norwegian, MSC, Holland America, and Disney Cruise Line uses. Puerta Maya is normally used by Carnival Corp ships (AIDA, Costa, Carnival, Princess), while the International Pier is used by Royal Caribbean and Celebrity.
That plane taking off as you left port was perfect timing! So cool! And the pelican swooping in to steal the spotlight as just as cool! The airfield at 3:14 is the MacDill Air Force Base! MacDill AFB was originally established in 1939 as Southeast Air Base Tampa. But it has since been named in honor of Colonel Leslie MacDill who was a World War I aviator. Colonel MacDill was killed in a crash in November 1938 in DC. During World War I, he commanded an aerial gunnery school in St Jean de Monte, France.
