    TGV,
I'm a knife guy who's always loved quality watches. After finding your channel a while ago through Aaron Marino, I decided to get into dedicated watch collecting. Subscribed and wanted to say thank you for all the great content!

Excellent video! We've seen the 8 watch case before, but it's definitely a great accessory. Heck, I'd argue that it's not even a shabby watch to keep the watches tidy inside on a semi permanent basis... just goes to show you, pure class doesn't have to break the bank or be extravagant.

When I bought my Helmsman it came with a 5 watch watch roll similar to that WCWC roll. I agree with you that this sort of travel case is one of the more versatile ones. Another use is that when you are meeting fellow watch friends and want to bring your watches for show and tell. So not just for travels. Here's some questions for you TGV. When you travel how do you do it with your watches? Are they in your checked bag? Or do you bring them in your carry on? How do you handle that aspect of the traveling? Another good review.Cheers, John

The two watches travel case is pure class and luxurious, I love portability hence I've changed my watch box from 12 to 5. The wrap around I don't find very reassuring as like my watches feel comfortable and presentable to look at but all the same is giving us options. I'm heading to Hatton Garden tomorrow still on the hunt so I will be buying a travel pack so this video is very handy for me. Thanks for sharing.

Great review, I don't practically travel that much and also I don't have such a large collection for transporting. Anyway the last brown leather case you showed looks really good, very tastefully classically done. Looks like made in Italy, there are the best leather craftsmen.

I currently aim to overall own an 8piece collection (6/8 completed already). since I do not intend to carry too many of the pieces when I travel, I bought the 4 slot version of that Amazon leather case. One goes on the wrist, the other 2-3 in their slots and the spare slot probably used for small pouches with cufflinks or smth. Their slot sizes appear to be of good dimensions to potentially (or hopefully lol) accommodate my Seiko Astron, while my G-Shock MrG is likely gonna be on my wrist during the travel anyway. All other pieces I have and plan to get are not gonna exceed 40 mm anyway, so I think I'm good. All would fit nicely into my backpack/ over shoulder bag and feel secure having it nearby all the time vs being worried of putting it into a luggage, which I would never want to do with watches anyway!

Great review. I find for transporting one spare watch that the service cases provided by most brands do a good job. Also their simple foam insert prevents the bracelet, clasp etc from scratching the caseback of your watch.

If you go to an AD and ask for a red Omega Service case they'll usually give them for free. I have 2. Looks like a sunglass case and is great for transporting one watch. Customers who get their watch back from service usually wear the watch out and leave the case.

Any idea where to shop for a single watch box/storage option? It can be travel friendly, doesn't need to be a display case. It's for a mechanical so no winding mechanism. It's a Tissot t complication squelette.

The Wrist Candy case is my favorite. It is very versatile. You're right that it will not fit bigger watches, but I'm willing to bet they have another model for the larger ones. By now Wrist Candy knows your watch sizes so its most likely they sent one tailor made for you. Thanks for sharing

Great video as usual, TGV! Per your recommendation I ordered two nato straps from WCWC which arrived about a week ago. The material is the softest I've ever encountered in a NATO, so soft I'm almost worried it will tear at times. The colors and hardware are great, but I do find it's slightly too short for my 7 and 1/4 inch wrists. There's almost not enough of it to tuck back in the "ring" after strapping it on. Just thought I'd let you know. Keep up the good work mate.

    • @theurbangentry
      @theurbangentry  8 лет назад +1

+Spaceraisin Thank you mu friend, very kind of you to say.

I would never want to use a watch roll because the watches can scratch by rubbing up against the band unless there’s something separating them. That seems to be a big gap in watch rolls.

Great video TGV! I am very fond of the Wolf Watch Winders, I assume that is the same company making the beautiful watch case. Thank you for your in-depth review as always and of course displaying different options. I myself use the cylindrical style watch cases, they usually provide a bit more padding and the watch pillows ensure the watches are held tight with less room for movement (i.e. damage, surface scratches) in my humble opinion.

Love that Wrist Candy case, big fan of quality leather products. Reminds me of cases made for pocket knife collectors, very similar in fact! I have a Maxpedition Gear (Brand) knife carry case maybe well suited to carrying watches. If you look it up, it is model #1461.Cordura and well padded with soft wool fleece it is securely closable. It is on the large side. As a case for up to 12 watches perhaps workable! Quite informative as usual TGV. Thank you for another enjoyable video!

nice cases, ... if you have your watches on a nato. But they don't seem to be at all apropriate for watches on a bracelet since you have to fold the bracelet together, touching either the watch case back as well as the other side of the (inside) of the bracelet. this way they won't protect the bracelets from scratching..
Aren't there any cases where you can put the watches on some kind of a watch "holder" (as they come in the original box)? Would be great if you could make a follow up video on that. Thank you!

+Andrew Davey Not true: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B8N3UCI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 £11.95 plus £8.95 postage - it comes from Germany - although I only had to pay £4.75 just before Christmas. Search me.
There are many cases and boxes that look the same but vary greatly in build-quality. Make sure that you get a Songmics one, I speak from experience.
Case is great bang for the buck. Not a luxury finish, but not cheap looking either, and well up to the job: check the feedback on Amazon. Cheep and cheerful +. Very happy with it, I am.
I don't find it bulky at all, especially when considering that it stores eight watches. I use the case for watches that I want to have handy rather than having to dive into my large watch box/case. I also don't have any complaints about the watches being lose, once the case is closed, everything is secure.
My 2cts and all that :)

I'm about two months into the watch community, but I find it really weird to wear two watches at the same time. It's like shooting from 2 guns, why would somebody do that? Just joking, the most important thing is that it makes you happy.

    Great video!
Does it feel weird to only wear one watch now? Haha id be too scared to wear two, obviously I get the reference, but I fear nobody else would!

I think a smaller pouch for a single watch should have been shown because in my view it's unlikely one carries his entire collection of watches while going for a trip. So in reality maybe one sport watch on the wrist and one dress watch in the pouch.

Would you think that 44mm will fit in the 8 slot zipped case?

+Marktuyet If one values their dignity or just wants something that looks nicer they would definitely not go with bubble wrap! But I just recently moved and this is what I used for most of my watches.

Nice video, unfortunately if you have a watch with bracelet all of those will make your bracelet scratch the back of your watch... You should check some cases with pillows inside. Still great vid, I'm a big fan.

Why travel with multiple watches? Do you leave the case in hotel rooms? Seems like a hassle and something to worry about

True. I'm alright wearing just one at a time, even the same one for a few days in a row.

Good point, TGV! I'm looking for a smaller travel case for one or two watches, too. It would be enough for one week.
One watch on the wrist and one or two to switch. I found one from a German company called Friedrich Lederwaren. Have a look:

As a traveler, it's cool to learn of different options. I usually use a 3 or 8 slot dive case, which works great for protection, but takes up a lot of space. Also, I couldn't help but notice your wrist wear. I would love to get some of my genuine gemstones on your wrist for a shout out! Check out Beads By Gonzo on FB and IG! Thanks for the informative videos!

The blokes on the UGWC facebook group recommend ONLY ONE watch when you travel.: A Rolex GMT, obviously. Only a Woman travels with more than 1 watch!

TGV have you had any issues fitting large watches in the wolf design case in terms of the lid closing down?
