I've been through a lot of to do apps, and I ended up with Todoist. I've been a premium user for years now, and I'd highly recommend it - both the free and paid version. I did try the apps from Microsoft and Google, and I found them very limiting.
My biggest recommendation on list or tracking in general is to try out multiple things. I went from google tasks to Microsoft to-do to just creating a word doc. Please create a video on GIT.
Based on what you said i realised that there could also be time trackers as an extension for my editors, but i guess i'll have to look for one that is good for vsc, thx for the video it was really helpful
What I really like as a manual time tracking app is timeular. Its a physical device which incorporates a giro sensor to detect the side facing up and tracks time that way. Its more tactile and I use it way more than just an app.
Git tutorials please! I feel like your approach and video style would help a lot of us get Git better :) If not, what are the resources you recommend to learn to utilize Git?
Hey Kalle! I just wanted to say I love your videos! The way they’re edited, to the background music, everything’s just great and I love watching them! I also really liked your day in the life of a software engineer video, would love to see another one! Keep it up!
I'd personally recommend Notion for personal and team task management, it has the power to do a lot while also being simple enough to not become too complex
Hey Kalle, I have some words that I would like to share with you. Recently, I've become so confused about my path, I'm going to tell you a brief story of my journey to make it easier to understand: I started my journey with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, node.js and mongodb) after a while, I felt I need something more, something more challenging. So I started python, created some games and image processing apps with it, then started some machine learning stuff, after a while, I ran out of resources, so I moved to Flutter, I worked with it for a while and then I changed my path again, started game development with unity, created some games with it, then changed my path again to Flutter and I'm still there, recently, I'm feeling like it's pointless and there is no good ending for it. I've completely lost my motivation and power to continue, maybe because I'm not sure if I can get a job as a Flutter developer in a company, have no idea... Any advise?
Hello Kalle, You mentioned Toggl doesn't allow color coordinating, but it actually does? Maybe this is not what you mean, but what I do is I create projects (with certain colors), for exercise, work, school, etc. And they all have a color. Then when I see my weeks overview (or day, month, year, etc.) You get graphs and charts that quickly show what time you have spent on what activity. Great video btw.
Wow thanks for sharing dude. I'm currently using this tool called Turbo Marketer. They have a lot of Productivity tools and some automation tools for social media platforms. Its worth a shot if you want to try it because they give you 1 day trial to use all tools so that you can decide. Its really helpful and reliable tools.
Timemator is also really good alternative for Time tracking. You can setup custom rules for tracking and the application does the tracking automatically which is great.
So I understand your reasoning behind having a simplistic todo app, but if you ever want to branch out with a lot more complexity you should definitely try notion. You can have databases, wikis, note taking. It’s very powerful, I would compare it to a digital bullet journal. It’s pretty great. However you are right in that you will spend a lot of time learning how to use it and perfecting it.
I submitted a feature request to the Toggl devs like 2 years ago asking for color-coded bar charts. It seems like a relatively straightforward feature to add
Thank you! And your suggestion was awesome this video has performed very very well so far I think it's the best one I've made. So lucky for me I did take all the suggestions very seriously :) Thank you again!
Got a smart watch, a Galaxy? Tried timereporting from your wrist? Time Stamp or TimePiece are two apps for Samsung Galaxy Watches, from S2 and newer. No color coding...yet!
Great video. Can you do a video on Git like you mentioned? Watched a few online but there are still a couple of questions. Your videos are easier to listen to and follow. Keep up the great work!
Hello Kalle, so I really like the way you make your videos keep moving forward anyway can you make a video of how you have installed your vs code , emulator and flutter, thank you.
Depends on what you want to do. Javascript for web dev and java for desktop. I would suggest python as its easier to make cross platform and you’ll learn more universal syntax than javascript. But hey, there is no wrong place to start
Hey Kalle, big fan of your videos. I’ve just started putting videos on RUclips but for now mainly Scratch(will do JS and C++ soon). XD but was wondering if you’re willing to collaborate on a video? I have some ideas. Let me know what you think.
the thing with git is also, that a editors/ides have git integrated into itself so that you dont have to get too deep into git before using it. there is no reason anymore for not using git
How do you know when you are at the right point to use some of the productivity tools? Autocomplete, such as in VSC for an HTML document, just typing ! and getting all the HTML structure dropped into place made it so now I cannot start an HTML document without it. It had made me lazy and cause me to forget the most basic things at times.

Why waste time when you can watch on 2x speed
@@amorestperpe if your brain can cope with that, you will save additional 25% of your time.
The Phoenix is right but imo it depends on the content and the youtuber sometimes you can use 2x and sometimes 1.75x or 1.5x

You forgot one thing: a white board. Got one during college and it made writing layouts for code and web design so much easier.
The best part of this video for me is the way you ended it - turning the chair to face the camera. Got me.
I use Microsoft To Do instead of Google Tasks. They're pretty much the same, only that To Do isn't as limiting as Tasks.
I've been through a lot of to do apps, and I ended up with Todoist. I've been a premium user for years now, and I'd highly recommend it - both the free and paid version.

Definitely you must do a 'Learning Git' video!

wow . Your video quality is top notch . Just found you today . First watched your video about how to stay motivated when coding . Subscribed !
A question about something else,
are you still doing most of your coding on the Mac or do you actually use your PC for most coding projects?
I'm also waiting answer for this question

For tasks. I use the notes app for Apple with markers. Easy sync to all my devices, something I don’t think tasks or todo can do.

I love a differentiation between task and project manager. Coll
I use notion quite a lot. Made a huge difference when it comes to active recall
