What’s good about your productions is the easy walk thru..it’s one thing to read about it in a mag, another to see your hand work with motor tool..stuff that’s fine when people hand out together, but I live literally hours from any other modelled..a full day drive..to have to fettle and fiddle alone. Your stuff works..plus while I favour figuremodelling, I still follow all aspects..so your breadth is fun..
Excellent to hear! This is what I like a heartfelt critique... good or bad it sure helps to keep me motivated for future videos. Thanks again John for your honesty!!
A lot of modelers talk about converting figures but few really show you in as much detail as your video does, Scott. Appreciate your skill, hard work and time.
Thanks so much! I appreciate you taking time out to watch. I think maybe others avoid it because it's hard to keep such detail in the camera without fading off the frame... which I'm still learning to do. Also not many modellers, I find anyway, are comfortable with figure work. It is one of the hardest things to do as you really need to know human anatomy to do it right. Thanks again, Scott
Nice to see looking forward to the next one, looks like watching these has already help me out to restart painting after ten years out of the game of painting, you have lit my fire again, and l can now start at a better standard where l left off.
Wow, this is fantastic! I'm so pleased that I've helped you get back into it. This is why I do it. I love to share what I know and the creative avenue I've found to do it in is truly inspiring me. It also helps to push me to constantly stay productive. So happy you're enjoying my content. And I really appreciate the feedback as well. Feedback is what helps me continue to stay creative and inspired as well as making the channel better. Cheers, Scott
great video Scott . I especially enjoy the quality of the video with great close ups - keep on this good work my friend !
Thanks Marc! This means so much to me coming from you my friend. I really respect and admire your incredible work as well. Thank you so much for your support! These videos are a lot of hard work and I’m pleased that everyone is responding so positively to them. Cheers!!
the techniques you show are very helpful and they are delivered in an easy to understand way. thanks Stu NZ
Thanks! I try to make as much sense as possible. Cheers!
Great Job! So very interesting with all the detailing. We can't wait until you start painting!!
Thanks, stranger! Glad it helped you out. Now get out there and build some models!! :):)
Great tips Scott, loved the extra detail. Cheers 👍🙂🍺🍺
Thanks, much appreciated. 👊👊
Nice detailing. I especially liked the addition of the scarf. I likely would have overlooked that. Looking forward to seeing this painted!
Thank you. The scarf was there before but because I changed the position of the head it needed re-sculpting. Thanks for your comment I really appreciate the feedback!👊🏻👊🏻
Very nice Scott these tips and tricks will come in very handy indeed thank you for bringing them to us
Thanks, Greg. I'm glad you're getting something from them.
Nice detail on the camel, well done, enjoyed the video!...Bill
Thanks, Bill. Much appreciated.
Like the show and tell regarding the pinning and drilling out for hands/feet. Also your black nitryl gloves, helps to focus on the plastic and putty. Like the steps involved for "seating" a figure onto a saddle, technique could be used for seating a driver into an auto project. Cheers
Thanks, Gordon. Yes, this technique will work for anything as far as getting a good fit is concerned. So many models are let down by driver or rider figures that look stiff and unnatural, like mannequins in a storefront window. Glad it was helpful. Cheers!
Great job👍
Thanks Kenneth!👊🏻👊🏻😁
Nice session..thankyou
Thanks, John! Any other feedback good or bad is appreciated. I really like to hear what I'm doing right or wrong. This helps me provide the best content for my viewers. Cheers! Scott
nice work
Thank you.🙂🍻
I wish you showed a side by side comparison of before and after of the figure . I would great to see the difference , but there is always next one. I like your technics though .
Thanks, Bruce. Yeah, I should have done the full before and after in hindsight. I really appreciate feedback like this as it helps me create better content for my subscribers and that's the most important thing to me. Cheers!
Dear friend, what camera and set up do you use? The videos are very clear and how to you doing the job and shooting from above? Great job!
Thank you, Mr. Black! I use my iPhone, good lighting and lots of practice getting the shots just right... really quite simple tbh. Thanks for your comment and don't forget to subscribe to my channel if you haven't already. If you'd like I'd be happy to do reviews of your fine publications on my channel. Cheers. Scott🍻😎
It would be interesting if you did a video on how you paint eyes
Yes another video for the future. I have plans for it.🙂👍🏼
i hope you will got a video talk about heavy modify part like hip or shoulder to change the pose of the figure into something more natural, , i only read about it lightly mention in Shep Paine "how to build diorama", but read about it and see it in action is really different,
Yes I have plans for a video like that in the not to distant future. I have a scratch built figure that I’ve been working for a while now and he’ll be the subject of one of my videos as well. Thanks for the suggestion it will get done and is on my long list of ideas. Cheers!
@@SmallSoldier thank you, i looking forward to see it, some change in the joint like elbow, kneel, spin lean foward or backward is easy to imagine how to do that. But some other pose, for example, lean on a wall, i really unable to image how to modify the shoulder to make it slightly rise, same with the hip,
Yes, this is in the plans this year. I'm hoping to get to a demo like that soon. Thanks for your valued input and great suggestion. If you have any other requests I'm all ears as I put these down in my "little black book" of ideas. Cheers, Scott
i am about to start on my first modern warfare figure from the Afgan war can you tell me what colors to use for it at all and i will be acrylic paints ?
I sure can. Can you send me a picture of the soldier you're trying to represent?
i was thinking of using a scene from NCIS where "Gunny " Gibbs is holding a long range sniper rifle but i have yet to get in touch with the photo department at CBS where i used to work at @@SmallSoldier
Are you talking about modern American uniforms they used in Afganistan? Like the digital camo?
yes .@@SmallSoldier
Hello Marc. Sorry for the late reply but i found something that may help you with those modern American uniform colours. Here's the link. www.mbltd.info/figures/1-35-scale/modern-wars-era/35170.html
Could you use a 3d printer, got make body parts ?
Not sure what your question is. Please expand.
You would make a damn good dentist...
Thanks… but no thanks.😂😂😂 cheers
Brilliant video what would have preferred less busy music.
Thanks! Yes, I learn from each video and try and improve on editing, sound and overall quality. Thanks for your honest opinion it helps me improve. Cheers!
