God showed me love when I came out when I was 17. My mother's reaction wasn't the most supportive or loving at the time. And in secret I began cutting myself trying to die. I had it in my head if my mom didn't support me then she didn't love me. And if she didn't love me, then God didn't either.
Needless to say, she ran into a former church friend and began to pray for me. God showed her a vision and exposed my self harming secret through her friend. So when I came home she asked me about it and everything. Was she still misunderstanding yes. We didn't talk for a whole week. One day she saw a sermon on tv about a man who said he had a gay daughter. The pastor asked the man, why he stopped loving his daughter. What made her sexuality any more different than to who she was already as a person.
The man said she was still the same daughter he had while raising her then the pastor said, "Then what's the difference in her now? Because she came out? Shes still the sme daughter you raised up."
She realized how bigoted she was and came into my room and hugged me, crying because she knew how bad I was wounded inside and saw that her bigoted views were not Christ like.
Years later and she's fully accepting and as loving as ever. God flipped her heart about so she could realize that what she was displaying wasn't His love.
So I will testify to this. It doesn't matter what bible thumper spits out at you, that is NOT God's love. God does love you unconditionally! And He only wants what's best for us.

Tillie I noticed that. It's an old, outdated version of believing in God. It probably exists to 'bring people in line.' Before they 'mess up' and do something normal they consider sinful. The way I think, God is supposed to love everybody, or you can call it in the name of every religion or spiritual identity, if you deserve love, like anything or everything, you deserve love. I just have a problem with strict religions that are built on power, oppressing other people and women. "Other people" means anyone who is different in that society who's religion does not accept them. It can be downright dangerous.

Honestly, to me it's about control. If you have fear, you have control, you have power. As his daughter mentioned, the leader of the church sells himself as being the voice of God; and if you are afraid of God then you should be afraid of him as he "carries God's will" and to question him would be akin to questioning God.
It's all about power, control, and hate for that man. Some could even call it blasphemous, which is ironically the worst sin someone can commit from the Bible.
To fear God isn't a real fear, but a thing of awe, and respect. It's like we're so curious about Him that we are in awe about it.
Hi, I'm a Transgender male and I went to this house and I loved it. I went with a ton of my friends and we took so many pictures. We have one where we are standing in front of the Westboro Baptist Church and flipping it off. I feel proud to be in the LGBT+ community and I think the equality house is one of the most amazing things ever created on this earth. 🌈🏳️❤️

The wbc is not a church. Everybody struggles with there own things. With the New Testament it’s about asking for forgiveness because nobody is perfect or ever will be. And being openly gay and a Christian is a very grey area in the Bible and nobody can know some else’s salvation in the end.
the thing is, the bible doesn't even explicitly say that it's against gay people. The old testament verse that forbids "man lying with man" is a shotty translation from the original Greek--it's actually only forbidding pedophilia.

I think a lot of Christians have issues re the tender act of ‘Aooogaw’ in general. I believe those people are drawn to Christianity ✝️ because they feel vindicated by the doctrine. ‘It’s the parents’ responsibility to teach our children about sex, not the school’s’! Then because they aren’t comfortable talking about it, and couldn’t find a clitoris with a road map, the kids aren’t taught anything of value! And they’re as screwed up as Mommy and Daddy are.
BTW - apparently homophobic men are quite selective about what is or isn’t disgusting behaviour. Back in the Stone Age, when video stores roamed the land, I read an article that claimed that half of all video rentals were porn of one form or another, and of that half, a half of it (25% of the original number) was lesbian porn. Now, the claim for years has been that 10% of the population (I find that number a little high, but, hey, I could be wrong) is gay/lesbian. Okay, why is the number 25%, then? If 10% of porn is lesbian porn going out the door, I can assume that primarily lesbians watch lesbian porn, based on the numbers, assuming that they all are into porn. So who rented the other 15%? Keebler Elves? Having seen the interest shown when the strippers do a girl/girl at the clubs, it might just possibly be men. Like I said, selective.

I live fairly close to westboro(maybe an hour away?). They came to my highschool during my sophomore(i think?) year. They weren't able to come onto school property, of course, but stood on the sidewalk down from the school early in the morning to protest it. I think their reasoning was our Gay-Straight-Alliance Club. A bunch of the students that morning stood across the street from them with signs that said things like "God loves you/us" and all sorts of pro-lgbt signs. The school all wore blue which I think was a symbol of unity or something. :)

They came to my school once (which is weird since my school is all the way in washington dc) and everyone went outside with their signs and rainbows and did a similar thing, it was cool. Though knowing us and how rambunctious our school can be, I'm genuinely surprised none of those cultists got jumped lol.

They have gotten arrested before, however, because of them, many rules that were not in effect are put in effect now. For example, it’s now a felony in Indiana to protest at an ongoing funeral service within 500 feet of it. Reason? Because Westboro Baptist Church wouldn’t stop protesting at them, claiming that this was “God’s punishment” for the LGBTQ+ community starting to be more accepted, especially in America at the time. But yeah, I agree, those laws should have been into effect a LONG time before they went viral for their hateful behavior.

I went to Key West, when WBC was protesting. The locals told all tourists: Do NOT engage with them in any way. Pretend that you don't see him and most importantly, act as if you don't care at all. They want you to get near them. They want you to yell at them. Several members are brilliant lawyers, who always prevail in litigation. That is how they get the money to travel around the country, stay in hotels, buy meals. They win lawsuits, if you touch them by accident. Everyone on Duval street completely ignored them as if they weren't there. WBC looked miserable.
