  • Should reinforced roof hatches come to R6 with the release of Operation Shadow Legacy? This is what Ubisoft is asking the R6 Community and I want to hear from you! Does the addition of reinforced roof hatches add to the game or does it create another annoying obstacle for the defenders? And if it does come to the game, should it come from the existing pool of reinforcements?

    I think it should be deployed by defenders, because it feels like a free utility sink.

      I agree, but how are they going to do that? The animations and such don't make sense. The reason I think its a good idea is because otherwise defense has no way to counter people coming through the roof

      Not sure I agree with the new health pool system though.
      There's definitely a gigantic shift in how a lot of operators are going to work. Little worried about Thatcher especially, because in my experience he's the only operator that's more or less dedicated to what he does.

      @Runar Pettersen True, but Ubi should still stick to the world they created, the animations show that you can't just throw a reinforcement onto a hatch, because it's a heavy metal wall, thats what I meant when I said it should make sense.

    It can give hibana more play, which she desperately needs, it will give play to the new Hard breach gadget, and more play to kaid, I don’t see too much problem, they should only be reinforced when defense is top floor, and if they are top floor, it removes reinforcements from their pool

      I don’t really agree with the change... defenders already have the advantage and I don’t think we need to give defenders even more of a advantage. Also I think making a change that would overall hurt attack just to make more ops/gadgets viable isn’t the right way to balance it.

      Let’s say your on kafe top floor attack and the hatches are are Reinforced and Electrified by a kaid. Your gonna have to use two thatcher EMPs or two of Kali’s lances, then use two hard breach tools. I feel like it’s just a big utility bust and would really hurt attack on some of those maps

      Reinforced top hatches on a map like Kafe makes it to where you NEED a hard breacher to make a solid push, where before, Kafe was similar to coastline where a hard breacher wasn’t a necessity. There are already so many maps that NEED hard breachers that I think we don’t need more now, although I still believe it’s good for hibana, there’s so many other ways to buff/fix her current state.

    As a hibana main i think this would make her more viable after being beaten to the ground with all these new updates, from ace, to the new hardbreaching gadget

      No what she needs is the ability to destroy shields because if ashes soft wall beach can do that it makes no sense that Hibana's X-Kairos can't.
      As mention in the video the game is already defense favoring with all the utility don't give them free utility to make her fill less nerfed. Instead ask for her to actual be buffed.

      But it really limit Hibana destruction capabilities. Usually I would create a vault hole and a long angle, but with reinforced roof hatch, I would have to give up one of them, which is a pretty big deal imo.

      The Hard Breachers aren’t situational when you need at least 2 for almost every map! Hibana is the most situational Hard Breacher because she only gets hatches and most of the time you need only 2 hatches a job that Thermite or Maverick can fill. Let’s say we’re on bank where Hibana could be brought and Thatcher is banned, your not going to risk bringing a Hibana when you could play Maverick and bypass anything.

      I agree with Bill. I play as Pulse while defending, and these hatches are very helpful to go faster under the objectives.

    As other pro players have said, this makes defenders even more powerful in an already defender-sided game. On some sites the most vital pushes for attackers are limited and a hibana/utility destruction is 100% necessary.

    I don't want a new op that does this as people are suggesting, that's such a boring piece of kit that would be a waste of a new op. You should get the option to have them reinforced but it comes out of the pool.
    Another idea is to have "extra reinforcements as a secondary gadget, and these could be used on hatches from below or on walls as usual. Only one though because it'll become too much.

    I Think That Is Should The Roof Hatches Should Remove From The Loot Pool Like You Can Pick An Option When Picking A Site Saying: "Reinforce Roof Hatches? -however many hatches they're are" But I Don't Think It Should Go.

    There are more than enough options for attackers to bring hard breaches. 4 hard breach ops, and plenty of ops with the new gadget. I think that having roof hatches reinforced is good. However, I think ubisoft should instead make it so you have to manually reinforce it yourself, taking from the reinforcement pool. giving defenders 2/3 free reinforcements is not good.

    I like the idea of a whole attacking team with dedicated hard breachers/gadgets it only seems fair that there’s a drawback, Also with the Thatcher rework and the Introduction of Zero Attack seems like it’ll be in a comfortable spot.

    I did a poll and 65% said no and only 35% said yes.
    My issue with it is it makes the game even more defender sided than it already is. The issue is for this to be viable they eould have to make the hard breach secondary really common. The issue with that is that would be incredibly unbalanced as it is a powerful gadget and should only be on certain ops. The only way I could see this working is a new op that has a passive that they can reinforce 2 roof hatcher (which comes out of the defensive pool), other than that it would be broken.

      Or make it a universal thing with all defender ops. They can somehow get up to the roof hatches to reinforce them from below. That way it's not a new op that's totally boring, and it also comes from the reinforcement pool

    I think the hatched should be reinforced but you aren’t able to kaid them. That way it would let you play in a room with a hatch but on the other hand the attackers don’t need to waste a thatcher or kali. Just an idea that in my opinion would make it more balanced

    I kinda don't like that as a defender you can only reinforce hatches above the site only if you are not on the top floor. Therefore i think it would be ok as an option if it took the reinforcements from the pool.

    It sounds like a good idea but it is useless because u just wasted 2 or more on hatches and then u got to reinforce site and there could be a wall not reinforced so that means a ash zofia can open obj faster I just think that it would be useless and better off just being in test servers but again I could be wrong

    Having them reinforced you will an operator that can gardbreach like hibana thermite or ace if you wanna go in through the roof and not everyone has those operators so i dont like the idea if they are gonna implant this in the public servers they should do it in ranked and unranked only

      Having it only in unranked and ranked seems flawed. New players playing casual will get used to not needing a hard breacher on certain maps and the transition into unranked and ranked will be annoying for them and anyone who has to play with them as it’ll make less new players play hard breacher (as there would be less need if top hatches are unreinforced in cas). Plus, thermites like 1000 renown. Plus the new hardbreacher gadget. There’s really no reason for not owning a heardbreacher...

    This hardbreach update is fucking stupid because now we have to substitute an op for hibana. she will use 2/3 of her gadget for previously unreinforced hatches sledge, buck and maverick could previously get. Also if you have to substitute flash bangs or breach charges for the new hard breach device you will have less utility to deal with defenders giving them leverage cuz you can’t burn ADS, you can’t nade maestro cams, you can’t play vertical, you simply can’t do shit. I think an alternative would be to give the defenders an option to reinforce hatches during the pick phase and if the majority vote to reinforce hatches (on kafe for example) your team would now have 8 reinforcements instead of 10. Because giving the defenders 12 reinforcements is such a utility soak.

    People who dont want the hatches why? Do you want the game to become attacker sided? The problem isnt reinforcements its bullet proof gadets and the amount of jager and wamai. They can add the change and give defenders 12 or 11 overall and give the option to get hatches, also the hibana buff pls. Then make stuff bullet resistant like a frost mat. 25 dmr bullets for a maestro cam would be nice. Make it 7-8 for Kali and 12 for glaz. The exact numbers dont really matter. They can also take away 2 magnets and 1 ads form wamai and jager. This will lessen the need to for jager, ash, and zofia while increasing glaz, kail, and dmr pick. I imagine lion would make it back into the meta with his 417 dmr and secondary hard breach, at least on coastline

    This global buff to all defense in the entire game shouldn’t be on the table to make an obsolete attacker, my most played operator Hibana useful. It’s absolutely not worth giving the already favored defender side such a free no skill required advantage just because Hibana has been power creeped out of the game.
    Give her 5 XKairos and make them have better gadget clearing. Let them destroy Mira windows and Shields. Operators are swapping out their frags to destroy stuff for the new breach tool so having Hibana have Mild utility clear and mild hard breaching will put her in a better spot.
    It’ll make her Zofia, but on hard walls and defender utility.

    It's dumb imo. I mean looking at statistics, defenders have a higher win rate overall. They don't seem to be struggling. So why give them reinforced outside hatches coupled with the fact that some of them now even get a 1.5x scope. I know the attackers got the breach tool, which I also think is dumb, but I really don't think defenders needed buffs like these.

    Hm well because they’ve added this new hardbreaching utility I feel like they could reinforce hatches on roofs. However, I don’t think 1 hard reach device is enough so adding an additional hardbreach on certain operators (so they would have 2) would save utility. Then again, this would just complicate the game and more changes would be needed for the balancing of the reinforced hatches so I would say just leaving them soft is the best idea at this point

    Hibana selective fire and an additional set of pellets. There you are its balanced. Now just like bank my stack would ban hibana because getting all the hatches was problem for lockers. Now you can make that decided pick for that one specific thing.
    If hibana is available then your good. If not then therm thatch capito amaru and monty still get 5 possible Reinforcements.

    As a hibana main who really likes fuze, this is just confusing. Because 1. Yea nice hibana buff, but 2. Oh god fuze cant go through those hatches

    My oppinion is that this is not very balanced, because if you have a plan of coming through the roof a bit further from the site, like that you would have to waste one or two hard breaching stuff, like two selmas, or one thermite charge, etc. I think that hard breachers should be used to open walls and angles on obj, instead of being wasted on a hatch. In this manor, a lot of plans would go back to the drawing board, for example, a verry good strat me and my friends have is that one goes Thermite, one is Thatcher, one is Nokk (usually me,thank you for showing me how amazing she is) one is gridlock or nomad and the last one is zofia or other great soft breachers like buck, ash, sledge, etc. This strat would be ruined because of the hatch thing.
    All in all, i dont think its that of a great idea.

    makes it even harder for nokk to sneak into the map (already difficult), and makes hibana and kaid must-picks on all maps with roof hatches, but makes some areas of the map more playable for defenders, so 65% bad idea, probably wouldn't do it, maybe on certain maps, or being able to throw reinforcements onto hatches, so it's not free utility

    Now this could be a way to mitigate both having them reinforce hatches but not make it too powerful.
    You only get 1 reinforcement for hatches outside on roof. It does pull from reinforcement pool. You do get to decide which hatch it goes on. Limiting the defenders to only having 1 to help them on attack. But also it makes sure for those who don’t want it taken from their pool, and mainly for those solo queuing, that they still have a decent amount left to reinforce inside the building.
    Another solution is you don’t have the new reinforcement update (10 per team). And keep the 2 per person. And instead a reinforcement is taken someone from someone’s stack. And that person can decide if they want it taken or not. This can help a Roamer who wants to get to their spot to set up quicker.

    I think it should stay but only if the hatches are relatively close to the sites. Why? If you’ve ever played on SEA/EA on defense, you’ll know how annoying it is to try and flank only to get greeted by at least 2 ops camping a roof hatch when there’s only less than a minute on the clock

    In my opinion, there isn't much reason for the hatches to not be reinforced. There are a lot of changes in shadow legacy, and the meta will shift alot. It might look like it will be bad for the attackers, but the attackers will be a lot more flexible. And people can still use maverick, since he just got buffed and destroying hatches will be easier.

    I feel like they should be able to reinforce rooftop hatches but not automatic. Sadly I have no ideas to reinforce them. Maybe a ladder or something they could pullout and climb to reinforce (obviously they would have to hold reinforce to reinforce not just a ladder in the way)

    If they do about 25% of the maps and good ish hatch's, but they have to make Evey map has a hatch E.G bank elevators should have a added part to the roof with one hatch but it reinforce for a normal player you use a better gadget than attack the new hatch but some people attack in different directions so not sure how it will work

    they want to make the attacker meta less stale but with automatically reinforced hatches we'd be forced to bring ops with hard breaching gadgets which would make the attacker meta even more stale, kind of counter-productive imo

    Idea: Forgo this automatic hatch reinforcements idea and instead give us an operator who can reinforce hatches from bellow, these hatches can only be breached from the side they were placed on. This gives the defenders an option, do they want to spend an op slot and a reinforcement on a room/2 rooms/more making them a lot more harder to breach OR do they want to just go the standard route like we do today.

    This might be more complex for the devs to do but I think it should be randomly generated on one hatch if there’s more than one just to allow for the chance that fuze is still useful

    It would make Hibana more viable while also putting a lot less pressure against the defenders, but I think it should only be done on a case by case basis rather than an all or nothing thing. Now, as a console player, I haven’t gotten to try this, but it would make sited almost not at all viable very usable while also bringing operators that haven’t seen the meta years or not at all yet which is a good thing tbh.

    There should be an option to reinforce the roof hatches using reinforcements from the pool of 10, that way it becomes a decision for the defenders on how to use them. Maybe you could look at a roof hatch and get the option “press square to airdrop reinforcement” or something like that

    I say just make an op that can reinforce from below and so hes not just a situation op make him reinforce walls 50% faster. This way defenders use a whole pick on if they wanna hold down a certain room with a hatch or not

    it won't be that bad. is only the roof hatches so yeah it helps the defenders on a few objectives but not all, for example top floor kafe was already defender sided so this is not moving the needle that much. hibana can pop both hatches and a murder hole into piano from red stair, bring one of the thermal breaches for the fridge and you are good on hard breach.
    the reason for this change is to give back some value to hibana since she is loosing some with the new secondary breach gadget. if you are going for walls you'd rather bring some other op with an ability and the secondary breach than hibana but if you have to open hatches she is the better option.

    Yes or make it a gadget for a new operator. I hate how easy it is for attackers to cut off points of a map because they had a mini shotgun or one of 3 to 6 breach charges they might have. Or even bum a grenade. I think cafe is a problem because of it's poor design for the upstairs area

    With the introduction of the hard breach gadget, I say yes. The gadget will help attackers clear the hatches while the defenders actually have the ability to hold them

    I think the best option would be that a new defender or existing defender gets a passive that allows them to use reinforcements on hatches above them. Not a main ability tho.

    What the defenders could pick or not if they wanted the hatches reinforced but it would take away from their reinforcement pool. It would feel like a utility sink if they got it for free even with the new hard breach gadget

    There should be some method where the defenders can choose to reinforce it & it uses one of their reinforcements... difficult to put in though. Giving defenders access to the roof for the first 20 seconds?🤔

    I think it would be better if they take it out of the reinforcements pool and you deploy it by a secondary Gadget. You can put it on ops that dont get much play time.

    This is a good idea everyone they went way over board with the attacker buffs, everyone is a hard breacher and maverick is buffed hardcore, so give the defenders something they are so attacker friendly and push for the attackers to have the edge on everything

    I think you should look at it from below and then reinforce instead of animation you pull out your phone and request reinforcement and bam after the same amount of time it takes for hatches inside
