      Cela prouve qu’il faut toujours faire attention aux comparaisons sur RUclips. Roger The Music a manqué de rigueur ici. Même si de base le pultec Apogge est à l’ouverture comme ça. Je l’ai dans mon arsenal de plugins et le mien ne fait pas ça.

    The original designer understood the Fletcher-Munson curve. The human ear doesn't hear flat. It is more acute to mid frequencies in the 1khz to 5khz range making the low end and high end seem rolled off at lower volumes and the louder it gets the closer your ear hears flat response. That particular Pultec was designed to compensate for that curve.

      I'm still not totally satisfied with UAD (great top end but low boost and cut doesn't work as the hardware) and waves (which doesn't shine on anything to my ears). I think Apogee is owed a fair review/comparison. At the first go you had the attenuation at the maximum. When you reset the plugin because of the 'bad sound' you missed addressing the attenuation setting. Maybe that's the default setting (though that doesn't make any sense), so I'm not faulting you.

    • @Rogerthatmusic
      @Rogerthatmusic  2 года назад +1

      I understand that some people find that (more) interesting. But for me it doesn't matter that much. I care about if it sounds good and if it's useful first hand. Of course it could be interesting with a comparison from a theoretical point of view.

    • @AutPen38
      @AutPen38 Год назад

      But which hardware counterpart? There have been various revisions to the original specifications, it's an extremely old design, and it's analogue. Each unit has its own character. At least one of the plugin emulations was based on a specific unit that sounded "better" than most other examples because of a unique "error" in the circuitry. The hardware devices are all unique in a similar way to how every Rolls Royce made 60 years ago has its own individual quirks.

    So…. If UAD, have a volume boost when engaging the plugin and you say this may be an actual byproduct of the original as it is an emulator so they say it is end to end , and you open everything with the statement that you don’t like this,, sorry I don’t understand, am I misunderstanding the idea of an emulator supporting the exact conditions of the hardware as being a faulty aspect of the model that you d3sire to be amended because that’s what you want, or something you deserve? If it’s exact, we’ll then haven’t they modeled it correctly? Not hating on you, just want an answer to this seemingly perpetual issue everyone seems to have

    • @Rogerthatmusic
      @Rogerthatmusic  Год назад

      It's just that I like to hear the sound of the plugin and not be fooled by changes in volume. Our ears are sensitive to volume and if a plugin has jus 1db more gan we often think that it sounds "better" but actually it's just louder. Even if it is in that way on the original hardware I would like zero db be zero db in the digital domain.
