Cela prouve qu’il faut toujours faire attention aux comparaisons sur RUclips. Roger The Music a manqué de rigueur ici. Même si de base le pultec Apogge est à l’ouverture comme ça. Je l’ai dans mon arsenal de plugins et le mien ne fait pas ça.
The original designer understood the Fletcher-Munson curve. The human ear doesn't hear flat. It is more acute to mid frequencies in the 1khz to 5khz range making the low end and high end seem rolled off at lower volumes and the louder it gets the closer your ear hears flat response. That particular Pultec was designed to compensate for that curve.
Great visual demo on the frequency affect of the functions of this EQ and brand comparison Roger!! WOW, to my ears the UAD sounded by far the best. The fat kick and crisp but smooth highs are the bomb!! Thanks! This is currently part of a UAD sale bundle that I will be purchasing asap!!
In looking for Pultec emulations I just found this video. My favorites in this video: UAD., Waves, Softube not necessarily in that order. Thanks for a wonderfully informative video with a great vibe and no BS!
More have asked for it. I will make a new video soon but maybe compare effect chains from different manufacturers. I will make a poll before so you all can suggest what brands I should compare.
latency within any individual plug-in is no issue...there is automatic delay compensation, so your point is moot when it comes to actual use in a real project.
The only Pultec-style plugin I ever liked was the Analog Obsession RareSE -- because it has separate mid/side controls. Other than that, Arturia's EQ Sitral... which isn't even a Pultec
Another one to add to this list now is the Noise Ash Rule Tec. Can be had for under $50 on sale and I like how they have the high and low pass included in one unit. The UAD one is probably the most accurate but to my ears, the Rule Tec is close behind it.
