im about to pull the trigger on a diy 1167 M/S comp, and been looking for something else besides mic pres and i think i might do this!, plus you sure have an exhaustive display for building this, great comp. hail from MN
Seems awesome ! Congrats ! Good pedagogy. Can we listen to one you built ? I'm also curious about the total price of this unit or a LA-2A components included. And some vintage ones compared to built ones
Hi, I’m new to analog vibes community, I’m interested to build my own outboards, could I ask you how does it work? If I buy the chassis on your website will I get the full guide which will include all the components I will need to buy separately somewhere and steps to follow? It might sound a stupid question but I didn’t get how it works 😊 thankssssss
Hey there, thx. We are almost there assembling all the components & negotiating prices for them (some of them will be custom made!!!). As we go for as true-to-the-original as possible and the highest sound quality, because such a piece of gear will stick around with you for quite some time, it will be a few bucks, but it'll be worth it and way cheaper then modern successors or the skyrocketed prices at the used market.
Hi, yes for sure, but don't know when yet. But for now we have some extras from the first run: analogvibes.com/shop/product/complete-kit/tube-program-eq-complete-kit-group-buy/ If you get one now, we will ship in september.
Thanks for this great video and the perfect explanation of how a Pultec works! Just one question from me as a newbie: How does this typically work in a studio? Do they normally have two single Pultecs (when they have Pultecs) for the left and right channel or do they combine the left and right signal (with a Y-XLR?) to one signal which is fed into a single Pultec? Thanks a lot for your help!
2 -One per channel. You do want to check that both are functioning within close tolerances of each other at any given point, unless you need them off-kilter for some creative effect. -Adam.
You did not explain anything as in how it actually works, but neither does Dr. mix...he just noodles.. But i am happy to see such a nicely preserved one...that IS rare The overlay is a cool trick though....the layout is a bit shabby, most clones are easier to read...especially the danish ones
the video is only scratching the surface but he offers dedicated e-papers to every video and they really go to the core of it - highly recommend to check them out!!
@@analogvibes no rush, i just made a note, when you buy partial kits from you guys do you supply a BOM or reccommended BOM so people dont forget parts?
@@deadmusik9969 this one will be a complete kit - not almost complete - but complete complete, so you don't need to worry and hopefully we don't forget any parts ;-). Have you checked out the website and the e-papers? In the e-paper "no more concerns" you'll find a whole section about parts. analogvibes.com/byls/tube-program-equalizer-complete-kit/

Brilliant. Love the images in the e paper!
This is amazing. Thank you
Awesome work and probably the best option to get as close to the real thing as possible without breaking the bank!
that's the idea...
Wow - amazing work. And super nice e-paper. Looking forward to follow this

Not sure why you listed this used for $10k.. I got mine for like $4k new through Vintage kings... Even Sweetwater has them in stock.
I'm sure he was talking vintage units not the reissue
reel2reel4real idk why you would want the vintage one the reissue is the exact same hand wired unit
@@jamskillet the moog reissue is also hand build and doesn't sound like the original.
Yes Rasta! I’m bout to do this!!!
I hope you're doing this not only because of my hair.
We have the same hair lol. You had me at the one drop!

good video but I fucking hate the white noise bursts, especially since they're unproportionally loud. hurts my soul.
