This was without a doubt the most powerful and emotional interview we have done on the podcast. The reaction to this chat with Shaun was huge. Hope you all get as much from this that we did. What did you learn from listening to Shaun?

"How important is legacy to you?", that question is one I asked myself in August. It turned my year around. Shaun's advice to 'be a good bloke', is a great summary of integrity and care. Look after your people and they will perform better than you ever expected.

"People are scared of confrontation...I love confrontation "-classic Waney. He divided opinion at Wigan when he was the coach but you can't deny either his record or his commitment. Personally i think he's great.

I came to watch this from Damian's DOAC episode. I'm also Northern and grew up with an abusive dad, my childhood drives me to want to be the best version of myself. Although I am a female, I can still apply so much of what is spoken about in this podcast to my life. Hope Shaun and the hosts have long and fruitful lives.

One of my best finds of 2020, this podcast is raw and insightful. I simply love it and can't stop sharing it with others. This episode is one of the best, Shaun makes me believe England will win the World Cup. I'm off to the bookies! 🙌

I used to run for Warrington Athletic club in the Eighties, due to maintenance work at the Warrington track I picked up a fellow athlete on a Saturday morning and
drove to the track at Robin Park. Arrived at 9.45 to do our track session, as we walked onto the track Shaun Wane was walking of the track, sweating and breathing heavily. This was before the summer rugby era and I thought Shaun must have been here when the track opened at 9.00 doing a track session on his own well before
the pre-season training would have started. I thought what a great attitude, obviously one of the reasons he was such a good player and coach!!

Sintelliner here. Hate him…but love him. He loves Wigan but he wants the best for RL and for England. Passionate for his club, country and players.

Legendary coach, and seems like a great human being as well. I don't fully align with the "never be happy" but I understand where it goes with this. No complacency to be the best at what you do!

Fantatsic insight on the thinking patterns of such a top coach work.
His teams always give 100% regardless of the result, he always shows his values and has his teams follow his lead.
I would love the guy to coach my team and the national side will be so much better with him as head coach.
He does the 1% stuff as if its the norm and hes a great guy

Amazing podcast. Really enjoyed listening to it and hugely insightful. There's a video of Mal Meninga that I have seen and he approaches things similarly that he has a tick list and when it's done he moves onto the next thing. It's a really focussed mindset to have.
