I like this episode because of a number of reasons (some of the jokes are great, like the "You've become your father" one), but also because it answers one very important question: Yeah, why DOESN'T Stan use real attractions in a town filled with real magic? Ignoring the fact that he might just be oblivious to it like a lot of the rest of the town seems to be, the answer is that real magic is simply too dangerous to be put on display.
It also gives some insight on Stan's character and why he runs the shack the way he does which is nice.
In other news, I love the Stan Wrong Song. And the fact that Stan has given up an participates in Mabel's shenanigans in the end.

The thing I appreciate about Mabel is that she’s both willing to try to do what she believes in and also that she’s willing to acknowledge when things don’t work out how she expected without losing faith in people overall. I think all the characters learn some lessons in this episode.
According to this episode's commentary track, the series was allowed to use the word murder but couldn't use the word death. That's why whenever someone dies in a cartoon they usually say they're gone.
Every episode you finish gets you closer to HIM and also the intensity of season 2. ALSO, can't wait for you to FINISH so you can start looking at the many cross over Easter eggs from owl house, amphibia, and gravity falls
Alex Hirsch was taking risks with the show and that's why we love it

Imagine if Mabel created a miniature shoebox Maze for tourists, and Dipper used the Magic Flashlight on them to shrink them down to go through the Maze. Then when they get out, he regrows them. I always thought that would have always made an incredible attraction for the Mystery hack.
That does sound cool. Although given their track record a rat or something would likely get into the maze.

It's been actual years since I've watched this show and I still sung along with the Stan Wrong Song. This episode had so many iconic moments.
I can’t wait for you to watch season 2. It just gets better from there. You learn about Stan more, some questions are answered, and the show becomes overall darker.
Before you watch season 2 u rlly need to watch the gravity falls short "stans tattoo" it's actually pretty important to plot later on and it's really fun

Look, they're both twelve, and they both aren't good at seeing what other people need (Dipper's most egregious moment is in a future episode, but it did happen). And your interpretation of the episode that is a spoiler leaves out a lot.

it wasn't the lgbt stuff that got the owl house cancelled. dana said something about the show aging the characters and being even too dark for disney standards, supposedly. she said that she was given support with putting lgbt in the show.

Technically, Mabel should have lost this, because she DIDN'T make any money by being the kind of boss she wanted to be and only started making money when she acted like Stan, which she said she wouldn't do. And Stan only lost his money because he didn't use the word "please", any other word he probably would have got. Plus, even though Stan lost all the money he made, he did still make more money than her.
This episode kinda explains why Stan is my favorite character
Fun fact there is a video about what Alex Hirsch had to deal with Disney when it came to what was allowed and what they didn't want in some episodes
You can kind of compare gravity falls to amphibia where season 1 is mostly episodic up until the finale and the main plot really starts going in season 2

Just like the Owl House, this show only starts to get serious by the very late part of Season 1 and then Season 2 becomes a riot.

Another show I would really recommend is scooby doo mystery incorporated. While everyone knows these characters, this show gives it a darker story and helps with giving the characters new perspectives and development. It is also a good story, just like gravity falls
