Listening to this man explain everything is like taking a masterclass in fabrication and Chad asks all the right questions. I think this is his best ever interview.
The one thing I would love to hear the answer to is, when that press is pressing the metal out, how much does it take away from thickness, and is there a failsafe to keep it from getting too thin?
@ he said he spent a lot of money getting them to work , just judging from what I seen and heard he knows what he’s doing . I also would like to know what the differences are though👍
I am really impressed with the Sarasota Saltworks fabrication process, the outcome, and the willingness to offer information and tutorial with Bad Chad. He is really generous with his time and knowledge.
Good on Chad for learning something new today! That should teach us all something. Never too old or too successful or too well known to learn a new skill. Always be willing to learn!!
@@jamesmatheson5115 too bad you missed the whole subject of this video.. its not about Chad its about SALTWORKS and the business this guy built and runs and puts his heart and soul into..
This man certainly knows where he's going. Chad, i can hear those cogs a turning man. The tour of Saltworks Fab has been outstanding. ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
Chad and Jolene this is Awsome stuff that garage is super cool Chad rocks and they both tig welded great . nothing better then learning new stuff this guy is super talented and he got lots of patience this was so fun thank you for taking us with you in to this place
i have wondered a long time why there is no tig welding on the channel. an old mma welder with a tig handel and a gas bottle is where i started. good 4 you Chad tig is going to make wonders to your builds
Really enjoying this one. Chad is so humble and willing. Asks great questions and intetacting well. Even last 2 vids was great too. More of these shop visits would be great.
Excellent video with the welding lesson ... Chad 's gonna want one... Good for you Jolene for helping Chad learn new skills and the possible next level for BAD CHAD ..
Chad & Jolene thank you for the tig welding lesson! Chad you can no longer say that you have never tig welded now! It seems like it would be much faster and cleaner the only thing is your cuts have to be perfect so there are no gaps. Jolene thank you for this video it was great!
Very nice people at this shop I’m happy you guys are doing this it’s a lot of fun seeing this place growing up I had family in the us steel plants still do but years ago the family’s who worked in the mill could go on tours of the General Motors gm plant it was the best days in my younger years growing up seeing fenders and doors all getting stamped out these guys driving in like cushmancarts the plant was huge it’s all long gone now seeing this shop reminded me of that day with all the people making parts it was so fun thank you
Nice learning videos from a well maintained shop and a group of dedicated workers and Bosses; just so overwhelming to view it all! Good job on the TIG Chad and wonderfully taped Jolene! (Miss that Fina Girl).
Great episode. Listening to a professional fabricator is such fantastic opportunity. Chad needs to learn that in life shortcuts are not always the way to do things. Hopefully he learns.
Damm, awesome. Got my first lesson by a professional. Never tig welded in my life doing autobody repair for 45 + years. My son has done this for years and said dad? Come out, and I teach you to tig weld. That I'd never go back to using a mig.
I never had a business but I've been doing this for 50 years and never TIG welded. When I started out I used an acetylene torch and steel welding wire (looked a lot like coat hangers) and hammer welded the panels together. When I finally got enough money together I bought my first MIG welder. I just never saw the need for TIG. Chad is a well known builder and customizer and there is a reason for that. He is an old school Craftsman and doesn't need million dollar machines to fabricate panels, he does it himself.
Awesome video Jolene. And thats great Chad learning how to tig weld and trying new things and learning new things. You learn something new everyday. Get you a tig welder Chad and go for it brother!! That shop is awesome!!! Oh and the Big Boy statue is cool. Comes from Friches Big Boy originally from Cincinnati Ohio. Sad they are closing most of them down now.
Thanks for the wonderful insightful, memorising comment Aaron....except one thing, in your own words yesterday you said all the "shit" this guy has in his shop. But today it's "awesome". So it seems you're either confused or contradicting yourself.. 😘🤡 Merry Xmas
I have tried TIG welding with some success, the experts make it look easy, but it takes practice and you have to get comfortable so you can repeat the process over and over for a decent period of time. That to me is the hard part. Very Nice work!
Saltworks Fab's shop has an amazing group of professionals and cutting-edge technology. If I had the funds, I would definitely choose it to customize my car.👍
Very interesting video, you guys are good at this type of format, Chad is good at drawing out the info and Jolene makes great work of the video, not intrusive but captures everything. Well done.
Pretty cool taking the time to show ya a thing or two. I could listen all day. I was the same when I first tig welded. Not used to having to feed the wire since a mig does it for ya. It def takes some patience and practice. My next big purchase for sure. When are these guys going to get on the RUclips plan?!!
Some of these comments is missing the point. By the questions he is asking it’s obvious he already knows how tig works. He isn’t experienced with it but he knows. His questions is focused to help the viewer more than himself. So basically he is being humble and letting the master show what he knows.
Kudos to the Chad for exploring his programming options. Chad has world class strenghs. He is a great teacher; and certainly many come to learn and be inspired. But, the hazard is that the same lessons can get stale. Expanding the range of technological metal fabrication options could well be within the range of interests of his viewer base. Basic rule: if what you are doing is not working, try something else.
Merry Christmas, Chad and Jolene Thanks for the many videos during the year,we always enjoy your videos Fay and Austin Greenough Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Chad will never do it again, too much effort for him to do it right, plus 5 minutes after being shown he would have forgotten it all.

A wonderful Tig Welding Lesson for Chad . Back in the late 1950's & 60'S there were lots of DIVCO milk trucks
