I really love the osmumten's fang! I think it will be a popular weapon to rebuild your bank with, so I though lets try that out. I am going to start from scratch with only a fang to see how effective it can be!
I won't have access to any starting money, and all my unique items will have to be purchased or earned. I think the fang will be a great rebuild weapon as it has so many uses across a wide variety of bosses. Its designed to be the best against high defence monsters, but it does fairly well against most things.

8:50 Just a minor clarification, the gap between the fang and DHL gets smaller and smaller at vorkath the closer you are to max gear, with DHL eventually surpassing it by a significant margin. But both are very solid choices and I highly recommend grinding Vorkath with either weapon. Still, I think DHL should receive a very minor buff when it comes to killing dragons because it shouldn't really be outclassed at the one thing it's meant for (killing dragons with melee)
Or maybe the fang needs a nerf… the reason the game economy is in the toilet, is because of the constant BiS equipment they have been pumping out, one after another.
@@TrySomeFentanyl it does not need a nerf. the difference is even greater when you reduce defence with dwh or bgs. the fang is only bis at mass corp, nex, and metal dragons. dhl still bis at olm hydra vork. if anything swap fang and ward on drop table but ffs it doesn’t need a nerf

@@meadRL in regard to it being too common, i think the 8man teams running 400+ invo raids are the problem. the drop rate for any purple is insane and look at how cheap masori set and light bearer is. the criminally cheap aspect isn’t isolated to just the fang. hope they just leave it alone and let the market settle tbh. but ward rate swap would be fine if they HAD to touch it. Gl m8 :D
just give the DHL the +5 str bonus it loses from when it was Z hasta back.
Minor question: If you're in falador, doing a rebuild at giant mole, why not just grab a FREE shield from the guy who gives them out in the castle?
And WIELD it for prayer bonus.
Also flick piety instead of protect melee to save more prayer.

When you sell your bank for a fang, you'll obviously keep your fighter torso, maybe a fury or glory, you will be no where near his gear if you start with a fang, so he's actually doing it more accurately then you would if you decided to dump your bank for a fang

I got hacked a little over a month ago… my clan mate sold his voidwaker to get me a few things to rebuild with. Biggest purchase was a fang, and having that made the rebuild so much easier
this explains why I saw a chad a few days ago at rune drags with a fang, but with a kiteshield and an attack cape lmao

@@youreasnake4548 I doubt it will go that low, and if it does the devs are likely to start sinking it in the GE. Fang seems, to me, a lot like the Dex scroll. It's something literally every account with the required stats wants, is good a ton of places and a strict upgrade over the alternatives, and yet is a fairly common drop from a raid.
Right now, Dex scroll is something like 30 mil, both because fewer people are doing CoX and because it's getting sunk on the GE. It took years to get to that price, though, and demand is realistically never going to go down. I expect Fang not to drop below 50m for at least several years.
@@youreasnake4548 doubt fang will get their at all, ghrazi rapier hit an all time low 67m the other day and is already back to 80m lol.
If fangs keep getting pumped into the game I can someday see the ghrazi rapier being 50-60m ish and the osmumten fang being around 80-90m

great video! i have an idea for one, you could do an ironman rebuild video starting from 0gp. you can only start with lootable things like steel armor in the wildy and use shops to save up for nature tunes for high alchs etc. would take some serious brainstorming but would be a great watch.
Another thing for the future, Fally shield also gives some def stats and a +5 prayer bonus. Nice for the start with no prayer gear
I think it'll be a good series as long you you dont try to flip your way to the top to rebuild. It would be way more fun if you actually had to kill a ton of bosses to get you 💰 up
I just bought a fang for 22m after they nerfed the slash style accuracy, and even with just stab it's been game changing. Super fun to just never miss
so i used to video game collect. you remind me of metal jesus. seems like everytime you come out with a video. everything gets expensive lol
would’ve went with early ardy cape, stab and prayer bonus are nice with fang. nice vid fang is fun and definitely a great rebuild option for low/mid level players 😊
You could’ve grabbed a fally shield and ardy cape for free and had prayer and stab bonus from the start. No need to pay for them. Fremmy boots give str bonus, etc.
Achievement diary items are free if you get them from their respective npcs

Imo the fang just exposes the flaw in regular weapons and their over-dependency on rng when dealing with high defense targets. Above a certain defense level threshold the kill time variance without the accuracy effect becomes very significant. Maybe top tier weapons like the rapier and the blade of saeldor can have a dialed down but similar effect above a certain enemy defense level
I agree with this. Also gives room to add sorta of next tier blade in with bonus accuracy. Feed the content machine :)
I find it interesting that the Fang continues to slowly go down in price, meanwhile the rapier has plummeted in value due to the Fang…

Fang is 100% a rebuild weapon.

Corporeal Beast is the big one. You don't even need to spec it down anymore, just charge in with mage tank gear praying mage with an inventory of Karambwan. When you run out (and you absolutely will), tele to Crafting Guild bank, refill on Karambwan, and tele back after using house pool. It will heal like 100 hp in the 10 seconds you're gone, but that doesn't matter. I'm getting 8-9 kills/hr doing this.
Only downside is the sheer number of Karambwan you inhale. I ate 5k in only around 60 kills this week. But it still profits because Karambwan are dumb cheap.

You should have gotten an Ardy cloak. BIS stab cape with a huge prayer bonus and pretty much free.
What's amusing is with how much the fang is dropping off, selling it and doing corrupted gauntlet/thieving would be more gp/h.

FYI flicking prot prayers while praying something else (like Piety) doesn't do anything for your prayer.

The fang is actually good enough to help you complete a speed run combat achievement. A hc iron used it to get grandmaster nightmare achievement
DHL needs a buff or something. Can’t just have a weapon built around killing dragons be worse at killing dragons
They just need to put it back to what it was before the dragonbane nerfs
it doesn't need a buff. it's 100m cheaper than fang and just as good if not better at most dragons. still bis for hydra and vorkath and all chromatic dragons, which is crazy for a weapon that is only 40m. there will always be an overlap because fangs niche is high def monsters, and metal dragons and obv known for huge def. but again, it's 3x the price. you are not getting bis with fang, just convenience and versatility.

Fang is also better than Arclight on almost all of the demonic creatures. Including bosses.
Fang is also BiS at CoX if no 2 succesful DwH specs including Olm left hand. Its also BiS at Sotetseg even better than Scythe at ToB. Its also just super good all around for Slayer. Its also BiS at Barrows. Its BiS at Nex. Its BiS at ToA. Its BiS at Callisto. Its the best melee weapon against Bandos boss. It's also better than the Rapier on anything that has above 0 def, wich is like 95% of the monsters. I dont think you understand what "niche" means sir. DHL is the weapon you should call Niche. Not Fang, wich is literally very good at almost all melee content.
It was supposed to be very good against high defence monsters but it actually did way more. Im sure Jagex didnt expect that.

Fang atm is only 44m. Its crazy how the biggest powercreep and probably the best melee weapon for 90% of pvm is among the cheapest high end gear.
Is it still worth it after the nerf tho?
Since you can revert the Ferocious gloves back into the leather, it would have been nice to use those for the remainder of your task and then you could sell them afterwards. If you needed the def from B gloves then that's another thing. Great Video! Always looking forward to your content.

Thankfully this wasn't a step one forget the fang go straight to the corrupt gauntlet rebuild
because the dragon hunter lance adds a percentage damage and accuracy buff on top of your base equipped stats with it, it has diminishing returns the worse your gear and levels are. In max gear, the lance is still healthily bis at vorkath, and even if you downgrade to faceguard, bandos, and fire cape, it still keeps a similar lead.
Most people I know are getting pbs at vork with fang. I have 2k kc and I know I got a pb without trying
@@5tony pbs are rng, but the numbers don't lie. Most people you know might also not have max gear/stats

Gaint mole was as much gp an hour as vork. But brews crashing so nests will too. Fang is bis there.

Fang is just barely not bis at Vork, actually. Lance is still around 2% better off task, and significantly better than that on task.

It makes me so happy how well the fang turned out. I remember when it was first revealed and it got trash talked because "The dps is the same" but turns out being able to get consistent hits matters a lot
A single weapons being BiS/second BiS at almost everything isn't really good. Glad it's not garbage but fang has choked out pretty much every other melee weapon except for absolute BiS scenarios

He didnt have piety on for the 26, so that was his max without prayer. You can tell because the XP drop was white, and then the next one was blue indicating that piety was active for that hit

I actually don't believe that the lawnmower 4.0 won't nick balls. I've seen those things there's no way that they won't cut someone... I just don't believe it. It's better than the rapier, not worth buying both unless you have tons of money.
The fang is way better would just recommend saving for that the rapier is basically the poor man's fang now

@@LeftNut600 just use a whip in that case. The 2 max hits a rapier has over a whip is much less significant than the defense shredding capabilities of the fang

maybe i dont hate myself enough but i probably would have allowed free items like the falador shield and maybe the ardy cloak for prayer bonus, you wouldnt lose those if you dumped your bank realistically so id say theyre fair play for the vid but good on ya for doing without them
