    Had a chance to run a Gel rt175 tracked machine yesterday. I was very impressed with it, similar lift rating to the t180 but it's a heavier machine with more power.

    I ran a few t750's some had suspension in them some didnt some had the mud tracks you are running and some had the multi terrain style of track with the rubber tread going straight across the track with the tread being about 3/4 to and inch wide and they were great in mud sand snow and ice was able to pile snow higher then the others

    tire machines have more psi pressure on the ground compare to a track because the track spreads it out more. thanks for the information on the different types of tracks.

    I have found that running a small, narrow bead of non-hardening clear silicone around the perimeter of the bulb/gasket interface will eliminate the tendency to pop out, and still allow for easy disassembly if the bulb fails. Repeat after installation of a replacement if the gasket's integrity makes is usable.

    I have 2 cat 299d. A little over a year old each. We'll be back to bobcat soon, worst skid steer buy I've ever did. I had a t190 a few years back and never had an issue with it. Good little machine but little. I wish they still had a good track machine with cables and none of the computer crap that comes on them now.

    we have a snow pusher on our cat 277 great in the snow . maybe because of the tread on our tracks. its a great machine execpt the undercarriage was not protected like they are now .

      Actually any cat model that is a xx7 is a multi-terrain loader so they run ASV low-ground pressure undercarriage systems. Any cat model that is a xx9 is a compact track loader and runs the cat solid undercarriage.

    Our company has several different skid steer brands. Bobcats just don't last as long as they should. Takeheuchi is junk - lots of DPF aftertreatment issues because the guys don't understand how to regen it. Recently cost us six grand for a new DPF. The Cat is awesone,but it uses a 2 grove idler that can plug with mud and throw a track. Had that happen the other day. The little Mitsubishi alternator, identical to the alternator on the Takeheuchi, is $630 from Cat. The Cat track frame spindles also won't take grease, if you go more than 2 or 3 days between greasing. Cat uses a torsion axle in the front and rear, similar to a trailer axle. The track frame slides onto the spindles, and are retained by caps. It takes some one to operate the machine side to side, and rock up and down while the 2nd person pumps the grease.

      Caterpillar, easy to work on service wise, great ride control, torsion suspension, well built and great pricing. You can buy a 259d loaded for $57,000.00 plus tax. maybe a little less I got my 259d this spring (2016) for $55,000.00 out the door. "The machine is bad ass!" I used it for roofing. built a box for tear off and I had to load the roof with it because of the large grass lawn and the boom trucks couldn't reach. We turned up the hydraulics in the cab and ran it at less than quarter throttle. Burned 3/4 tank of fuel in 2 weeks and thats using it every day (5hrs a day running) on a 650sq tear off and re-roof job that took 6 weeks to finish. Also. We had to dig out 15 to 18 inches of dirt on a 4,000 sqft concrete prep pour. The Cat dug, piled the dirt and layed down 60 ton of gravel in a 10hr day using one tank of fuel. the guys love running the 259d and if your crew is big enough they will probably fight over it.

    BEEN A BOBCAT GUY ALMOST 40 YEARS. BOUGHT 2014 S650. NEW DESIGN IS A "0".
    LOTS OF ISSUES, NO GUTS ALL THE WAY AROUND. PLACEMENT OF HYDRAULICS SUCKS. GET BUMPED AND BROKEN FREQUENTLY. MOST OF ALL, THE FRONT DOORS' GLASS IS SOOO TORQUED, ANY LITTLE BUMP AND IT'S SHATTERED. I JUST REPLACED # 7. SOLD IT WITH 750 HRS ON IT. BOUGHT A 2019 KUBOTA SSV 75. SERVICING LOOKS AS SIMPLE AS BOBCAT MAYBE SIMPLER. MORE ROOM, DOOR IS GREAT, VERY RESPONSIVE, MORE ECONOMICAL ON FUEL. I COULD GO ON. BOBCAT TRIED TO IMPROVE AND GOT A GOOSE EGG IMO. LIKE YOUR SITE

    We have an S205 great machine for having tires. recently added a Deere 333E to the fleet we wanted another tracked machine and have a Deere 317G on demo at the moment love the 333E not so much on the 317G Deere is supposed to bring another one out to try we feel this machine has an issue from the factory. We are not fans of the newer Bobcat equipment

    • @ironguy1

      T180 & T190 had an identical driveline. The only difference is the loader frame design which gives the T190 more lift capacity, more height and more reach at full height, beneficial for loading trucks. T180 Generally preferred for grading, backfilling etc as it will perform better in that application.

    • @mikethorntonr1
      @mikethorntonr1 8 лет назад

      those things are too fucking wide to do anything with you can't fit anywhere that a bobcat or a terex that would fit and the only reason why is because the cab is so wide for no reason unless your 500 pounds and there pins wear out way faster than a bobcat I demo one with only 400 hours thing had more slop than out bobcats with 1500 hours lol and there two speed isn't great you only gain about a mile or two per hour when bobcats go 12 and terex go 15 while Kubota do maybe 7 or 8 lol there mini excavators are good but there skid steers need alot more work before they can compete with bobcat and don't even get me started on attachments bobcat is the best way to go

    • @mikethorntonr1
      @mikethorntonr1 8 лет назад

      plus I aint the only one who thinks that everyone at work agreed but the all time worse skid steer ever made is jcb and Volvo uses them as well there trash you will kill somebody with one there hydrolics are so delayed like you can count 1 2 3 before it moves lol and rides ruff as shit so we stick to terex and bobcat

    • @ironguy1
      @ironguy1 7 лет назад

      "those things are too fucking wide to do anything with you can't fit anywhere that a bobcat or a terex that would fit and the only reason why is because the cab is so wide for no reason unless your 500 pounds "
      HUH?
      Input is valuable from those that know what they are talking about. You don't meet those requirements. The widest SVL75 is 68.5" with 15" tracks. The Bobcat T180/T190 is 66" or 73" over the tracks (12"/16"). Based on your ignorance with this I call BS on the rest of your unpunctuated wall of text. SVL pins are 50% larger than Bobcat. You are correct that the 2 speed is not as fast but being geared lower and 74 hp makes it a hell of a lot more powerful than the Bobcat T180/T190, though they are not in the same class of machine.

  • @andrewbrenneman9592
    @andrewbrenneman9592 8 лет назад

    Thanks for this. When time comes that I can buy a track loader it WON'T be this machine. I look for a machine that has VERTICAL LIFT not RADIAL lift like the T180. And my machine will need to lift a pallet of wood pellets (50 bags @ 40 lbs= 1 ton) out of the back of my pick up. The T180 won't do that.

    • @CoastConcreteCorp
      @CoastConcreteCorp 8 лет назад

      The T180 can easily lift 2,000 pounds. The rated operating capacity is 1,800 pounds and is only rated at 30%. I don't know why, some stupid law somewhere. However, a T190 is vertical lift and could help you out. Remember though an S185 can lift 1,850 pounds but is only rated at 50% so it could only lift 3,700 pounds at its max and a set of standard bobcat pallet forks weigh 500 pounds.

    • @bigolyd
      @bigolyd 4 года назад

      Each type of lift has its purpose. Radials give you more control at ground level up to about seat level where verticals give you more control from seat level up, but they will both do the same job if called upon. Radials have less moving parts, are a little easier to see out of and are more for grading and verts more for material handling up in the air being able to keep the load closer, but again they will both do the job. In my 45 years of experience in a Bobcat mostly, but a lot of other brands as well, the biggest challenge is that most operators don’t learn how to use the machine efficiently, buy more machine than they really need, abuse them(there is a difference between abusing them and working them really hard) and don’t properly maintain them. Grease, grease, grease( I was taught at 7 years old to grease the pins about every four hours, it makes a difference).......service them, wash them off every once in a while and store them covered. I grew up on a 620 with a whopping 25 hp Wisconsin gas engine, laughable now by most, but it was a great little machine that seemed unstoppable T180 is a hell of machine if one learns how to use it. I own a M440 that is a restoration project and they have all come a long ways from that machine. No matter what you buy, access to service and parts is everything. They all break and wear parts out. There is no dealer and parts network like Bobcat, unless you happen to not have one close, then I would go with the one that I had close for parts and service. It’s okay, nobody makes a bad machine really, because they all copied Bobcat for the most part. And as you can imagine, you can have the joysticks, I will take the feel of hand and feet everyday, it makes all the difference, especially compared to how tough they used to be. But it all boils down to what gets the job done for you.

    one thing i noticed is you didn't go into much detail in the cost of ownership with a tract machine. From my understanding it costs $5.00 to $10.00 more an hour to run a tracked machine. That's a lot of money when the day of reckoning comes and you get to buy a $4,000.00 set of tracks and that doesn't include any undercarriage stuff. Baby that track machine. I know why you have 3 tired machines and 1 with tracks.

    • @Chinothebambino
      @Chinothebambino 7 лет назад +1

      the days of 4,000$ set of tracks for skid steer are over. more like 1,800 now, unless you're getting screwed.

    • @ironguy1
      @ironguy1 7 лет назад +2

      If you are properly budgeting, you are money ahead - way ahead. You've done 3-4 times the work with that track machine than you would have with a wheeled machine and worked on days you'd have never gone out with a wheeled machine.

    The lights are made to pop out so they don't break. They don't pop out more easily once they have been popped out..... I really wish you guys knew what your were talking about. Your videos have views, your comments have consequences. How about digging deeper into how Bobcat has approached tier 4 emissions without a dpf filter, without def fluid...talk about higher travel speeds with direct drive motors that spin at 300 rpm in stead of the competition spinning at 5,000 rpm with slower travel speeds but much higher heat and oil breakdown. Bobcat really is the best. The others have their engines in line...pumps are stuck to a one to one ratio...pumps have a rpm where they are most efficient, just like an engine is most efficient at a certain rpm ... with Bobcat mounting their engine sideways, they spin their engine at its proper rpm, but more importantly, they spin the pumps at their proper rpm....1 to 1.5 ratio...Buy a Bobcat and get the best....period.
