Same (though I'm 38). That game did a lot to get me into JRPGs and story-based gaming, and its delectable humor is still highly memorable. Just polish the translation a bit ("Neosquid"...), make some of the timing more understandable (Yoshi racing), and keep all the great lines (adding a couple new punchlines wouldn't be a bad idea either).
I can already see some people complaining that Valentina doesn't jiggle nearly as much... *sigh*.
Yeah, this one totally surprised me...wallet-kun's gonna have to take one for the team! ....also, I really hope they include the hidden boss battle that was a pretty blatant homage to Final Fantasy, complete with the classic FF battle theme.... :D

SMB Wonder shows that the creative team is having fun and that Nintendo supports new and creative ideas. This is why I love Nintendo. You still get the hardcore games but they always throw in the lighthearted fun

This Nintendo Direct was so good! I’m honestly really looking forward to Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon, since that game was one of my all time favorites growing up. But nonetheless, I’m really looking forward to all of this!

@@spellbinder7036 Nintendo pushed themselves into a position that forced them to experiment with the art style after they made super mario maker 1/2. Those are strictly better alternatives to a bland new super mario bros game. Especially with super mario maker 2 where people are allowed to create entire world and share it with the world.

All my life I’ve been told Mario RPG is a must play and I just haven’t gotten to it. Now I can finally experience it. And in its best form

Yeah, to be honest the original will probably still be better, but nonetheless glad more people will experience it now.
@@YungUrameshiIf nostalgia is the only reason people will like the original more than the Remake, than the Remake did it’s job, which is to bring the game to a new audience while not making the game worse. It would be an exact tie between the remake and the original, one wouldn’t be above the other.
Same here! Haven't played the original, but read about it from gaming magazines in the early 90s how the some of the Squaresoft dream team members were working on it. My significant other told me I should play it, apparently the story is also very good, despite the goofy and silly characters!
It's already pretty different from the original, with the team attacks and stuff. Definitely play the original still sometime, there's a some charm to the graphical limitations.
This is hands down the best Nintendo Direct I've watched in a WHILE. Super hyped for all the Mario and Pikmin stuff. The fact they're making a new 2D Mario game that ACTUALLY looks creative and not the same copypasted format 5 times in a row is super cool

Mid direct. Some cool things but nothing very awe inspiring. New mario games are cool but other than that meh. They put too much shovel ware in these directs. As a whole it ruins the direct
It was a good direct, but one of the best directs ever? Man, the standards for Nintendo Directs must be pretty low if that's the case. In order to be one of the best directs ever, a Nintendo Direct would have to have some major announcements, like a new 3D Mario game, Metroid Prime 4, a new mainline Zelda game, a major revival of a dead Nintendo IP, and/or a new AAA Nintendo IP. Now, that would be a top-tier Direct.

@@GaryGlass1 Can't believe actual consumers are trying to push companies to force people to pay hundreds of dollars to just play current gen games and enabling planned obsolescence. I hope they never make a new console after the switch because Nintendo proved they can make games that shame the competition without even keeping up in the tech race.

Im so happy with this one. The Pokemon dlc looks great, new Zelda amiibo, a brand new Princess Peach solo game, Luigis Mansion Dark Moon port,and a brand new 2D Mario game plus a remake of Mario RPG. This was a great direct

Wasn't sure what to expect because this gen of the Switch is getting toward the end. Based on the announcement's and surprises I thought this was a solid direct!
They have literally said they are still likely supporting the switch for a couple years. Their biggest Zelda title ever just released on it, they easily got a few more years on it. Only people that decided it is at the end of its life cycle is clueless fans.

@patrick05020 this is true but this time of year we usually get a couple of their AAA titles around August. This year is a little different with all their DLC

I’ve been hyped for Pikmin 4 and Sonic Superstars since they announced it. I mean I grew up with all the games! BUT A NEW 2D MARIO!?! PLUS ALL THE MARIO REMAKES?!? This combo just made my year.
i hope dark moon gets customizeable controls so it can be played like 3ds luigis mansion! I loved how luigi controlled in the first. The first also had better progression, but dm is made around its level progression :(
Seeing Mario getting the mushroom do a pose that looks so much like the cover of Nintendo Power #1's clay model made me so happy. Wonder looks like it's gonna be the trippiest game since the first game
