The game was basically anime girl solos armies. Tanks were basically useless except for 2 or 3 missions where they basically balanced it so only tanks can do any damage.

Panzer Front on PS1. The most adrenaline infused game I've ever played in my life...… my whole body was absolutely drenched in adrenaline. Though you need to go into settings and tinker all of the options to their most difficult to replicate this effect. All options on hard. Manual gears. Long reload times. MANIC.

I do prefer War Thunder to World of Tanks, of course one reason being the damage models, and another being that Airplanes and Tanks can interact with each other (often to the airplanes favour) in the same match. But I also enjoy WT more because even though it is more of a simulator game, it still has a fun and fast paced arcade, and the tanks in WT feel less like toys and more like Giant metal behemoths. Well, except for the ASU-57, but take on look at the thing and you will see what I mean.

If you like instant action, there is arcade mode, if you like some more strategy, but not too difficult, there is realistic, and if you like a somewhat difficult mode, where if you're not careful you can kill your teamates, there is simulator. Unlike WOT, there isn't a big "p2w" issue. The only fishy vehicle is the IS 6, but even then it only needs a slight increase in BR (Battle Rating, determines what enemies can face the vehicle.)

A gamemode With no Airplanes Nor SPAAs (cz why adding SPAAs when there are no aircafts), Ground realistic? Nah, people can still appear on Planes. Ground Arcade? Nope, you can spawn an aircarft to use in the middle pf a battle.

An extremely realistic tank game is Red Orchestra, takes three players to operate one. Its old but if you like realism then its fun. The long range battles are amazing. It takes crazy precision to hit a far away target and watching the enemy round approaching is intense

The reason why I quit War Thunder and play World of Tanks: 1. War Thunder is mostly Pay to win. 2. Headaches from aiming. 3. Difficult controls. 4. Too long to research. 5. Rarely updates. 6. Doesn't have the variety of tanks. 7. Ping is one thing. 8. Although aimed directly at the crosshair, it still misses as if it has RNG. 9. War Thunder gets absolutely boring when reaching level 10 or 15. 10. You can easily get one shot in some other case. 11. in my opinion, War Thunder is not suitable for me, because it was shit. World of tanks does not need to be realistic just to let you guys now, they are well with developer services, add mods, have a good gameplay as competitive, less lag. WoT wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the horrible third-person UI setup. There's no ADS/commander/driver view available, which is the only reason I refuse to touch the game.
I play War thunder a lot and yes I have bounced shells and other tanks have bounced my shells. Sure the damage in World of tanks is more realistic, but in War thunder you can kill any tank in 1 hit if you ammo rack it. But in World of tanks all tanks have hp and you have to keep hitting it in the same spot or other weak spots until hp reaches 0 and that is not realistic. Where as in War thunder you you don't get that which makes you second guess yourself if you want to take the risk of kill or be killed. Personally I don't like the planes in War thunder, too annoying and controls are not realistic of an airplane. I know world of tanks has a lot more and bigger maps and both wt and wot have great graphics. But I prefer wt over wot. Sorry wot fans but I prefer a bit more realism. Plus wt is working on getting infantry involved. Yes sometimes after updates there will be bugs, but usually the bugs get fixed. I don't know if wot has changed anything on their end as far as involving infantry, taking away hp, etc. But wt is my favorite free to play game

Is there any tank simulation like the original "Panzer Elite" (NOT Panzer Elite Action!)? This to me was the best tank simulation I have ever played. And it is ca. 20 years old! Same with submarine-simulations. To me Aces Of The Deep with its dynamic campaign still ist the best after nearly 30 years! On the second place Silent Service 2, which now 30 years old! Or SWOTL as a WW2 flight simulator also with a dynamic campaign. Those games were "user-friendly" but hard to master. I miss those kind of games. Today you get action-orientated games on the one hand and over complicated hardcore simulations on the other hand. I miss those times when "simulations were for everyone", complex, but not too complicated. The good old times with companies like Microprose (Silent Service 1 & 2, Gunship and Gunship 2000, Airborne Ranger, a kind of predessecor to a game like Delta Force, which itself is nearly 25 years old!, and so on.... .) or SSI (the great Panzer General Series, they also were responsible for some games of the Close Combat series. Even Silent Hunter wasn't bad, although in my opinion not as good as Aces Of The Deep, Fighting Steel and the other simulations with WW2-battleships and cruisers and so on...), Sierra On Line (... the "Aces"-Series with Aces Of The Deep, Aces Over Europe, Aces Of The Pacific, Red Baron...)... . I miss those "good old days". Even "simulations" made by smaller companies sometimes were really good (... does anyone remember "Team Yankee", a tank simulation in which you would command ca. 20 armoured fighting vehicels in four groups?)... .
And yet in only one of these do the tanks truly feel like they have weight. In company of heroes the tanks are a big deal and change the battle field. But even in CoH: They don’t feel like your in a steel behemoth weighing many tons.

Okay, but which of these have singleplayer? I know World Of Tanks doesn't, but I have no clue about the others. I just want to play something that is WoT, but with the added fun of not having other players (AKA, the worst part of multiplayer games that isn't microtransactions), and the ability to play it when there's no wifi.
if valkeria chronicles was turned based i would have enjoyed it more, even more if allowed squad of tanks you take to fight against enemy. Does wish the consoles have more tank games, not many I find that I like unless its mostly focused on online gameplay only like world of tank and war thunder but those focused on hard core gamers as from what I heard takes forever to get your tank to the highest tier. I have recently found few tank games for the switch, their rather simple compared to world of tanks and war thunder but enjoying it. Called the battle supremacy series and so far its helping my cravings for good tank games. Its a shame we don't have more of them for consoles.

Awesome, World of Tanks. :) Although, yeah, I expected Red orchestra Tanks to be in this list... That game is truly amazing. For Arcade, I go with WoT, but for realistic gameplay, then definitely Red Orchestra Tanks is the Way to go.

The game called prototype has sick ass tank that blows up s*** like a like a Fatboy mini nuke only available at a side mission but I love it

WoT wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the horrible third-person UI setup. There's no ADS/commander/driver view available, which is the only reason I refuse to touch the game.

I play War thunder a lot and yes I have bounced shells and other tanks have bounced my shells. Sure the damage in World of tanks is more realistic, but in War thunder you can kill any tank in 1 hit if you ammo rack it. But in World of tanks all tanks have hp and you have to keep hitting it in the same spot or other weak spots until hp reaches 0 and that is not realistic. Where as in War thunder you you don't get that which makes you second guess yourself if you want to take the risk of kill or be killed. Personally I don't like the planes in War thunder, too annoying and controls are not realistic of an airplane. I know world of tanks has a lot more and bigger maps and both wt and wot have great graphics. But I prefer wt over wot. Sorry wot fans but I prefer a bit more realism. Plus wt is working on getting infantry involved. Yes sometimes after updates there will be bugs, but usually the bugs get fixed. I don't know if wot has changed anything on their end as far as involving infantry, taking away hp, etc. But wt is my favorite free to play game

I like world of tank blitz (mobile), because my computer is trash, and I like the quick pace gameplay.
One of my favorites from years back was Steel Panthers. Damn that was a lot of fun to play.

Is there any tank simulation like the original "Panzer Elite" (NOT Panzer Elite Action!)? This to me was the best tank simulation I have ever played. And it is ca. 20 years old! Same with submarine-simulations. To me Aces Of The Deep with its dynamic campaign still ist the best after nearly 30 years! On the second place Silent Service 2, which now 30 years old! Or SWOTL as a WW2 flight simulator also with a dynamic campaign. Those games were "user-friendly" but hard to master. I miss those kind of games. Today you get action-orientated games on the one hand and over complicated hardcore simulations on the other hand. I miss those times when "simulations were for everyone", complex, but not too complicated. The good old times with companies like Microprose (Silent Service 1 & 2, Gunship and Gunship 2000, Airborne Ranger, a kind of predessecor to a game like Delta Force, which itself is nearly 25 years old!, and so on.... .) or SSI (the great Panzer General Series, they also were responsible for some games of the Close Combat series. Even Silent Hunter wasn't bad, although in my opinion not as good as Aces Of The Deep, Fighting Steel and the other simulations with WW2-battleships and cruisers and so on...), Sierra On Line (... the "Aces"-Series with Aces Of The Deep, Aces Over Europe, Aces Of The Pacific, Red Baron...)... . I miss those "good old days". Even "simulations" made by smaller companies sometimes were really good (... does anyone remember "Team Yankee", a tank simulation in which you would command ca. 20 armoured fighting vehicels in four groups?)... .

There is another tank game called Battle Tanks, legends of World War 2. Not got the graphics of Amored Warfare but playable.
And yet in only one of these do the tanks truly feel like they have weight. In company of heroes the tanks are a big deal and change the battle field. But even in CoH: They don’t feel like your in a steel behemoth weighing many tons.
World of tanks WILL get you heart racing.
Try top tire war thunder sound on 7.1 surround sound in a close quarters combat with 3 enemies round you. That will get your heart racing

Okay, but which of these have singleplayer? I know World Of Tanks doesn't, but I have no clue about the others. I just want to play something that is WoT, but with the added fun of not having other players (AKA, the worst part of multiplayer games that isn't microtransactions), and the ability to play it when there's no wifi.
if valkeria chronicles was turned based i would have enjoyed it more, even more if allowed squad of tanks you take to fight against enemy. Does wish the consoles have more tank games, not many I find that I like unless its mostly focused on online gameplay only like world of tank and war thunder but those focused on hard core gamers as from what I heard takes forever to get your tank to the highest tier. I have recently found few tank games for the switch, their rather simple compared to world of tanks and war thunder but enjoying it. Called the battle supremacy series and so far its helping my cravings for good tank games. Its a shame we don't have more of them for consoles.
