When you arrive at the Harbor from the 5 freeway you drop down a steep hill and if you stay to the left you will enter the Harbor village which is a beautiful Cape Cod style village with unique shops and restaurants. There are a few options for parking but if you are going to spend a few hours walking around my suggestion is to park behind the village area in the free parking lot right here. You can park here all day and not worry about getting a ticket. There is also free parking along the street and if you decide to get a little closer to the beach you can pay 10 dollars for the day and in some areas 20 dollars for overnight parking. At the end of the harbor beach there is overnight camping. There is lifeguard coverage at the Harbor Beach in the summertime. Shaded picnic areas include tables, barbecue grills, and restrooms are available throughout. There is also a playground at Harbor Beach. Also, If you are looking for a great spot to surf, the harbor is the place!
The Harbor is primarily known for its water activities including deep-sea fishing, whale watching cruises, and boat rentals. Oceanside Harbor is home to Harbor Village with a variety of restaurants and retail shops. Just steps from the village are local vendors providing whale watching, boat rental, and SUP experiences. If you are looking for a great breakfast spot I would suggest Stratford at the harbor and make sure you try the coffee cake, for lunch go to the Oceanside Broiler for some tasty seafood. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from offering seafood, steaks, burgers and Mexican food.
The harbor also has over two miles of sidewalks so you can cruise around the place and check out all the great views. Let’s go down and learn more.

That’s was an awesome video of oceanside harbor…I too had surf PE….love Oceanside harbor…didn’t know about the secret spot…I’ll have to check it out!! Also so cute the baby seal…need to go see that for sure!
